The Picture book by "Brian Cosgrove," is a non-fiction book that illustrates the findings of world weather. I thought the book was well placed together with the book having images on every page that relates to each text subject on each page for weather like the Suns heat, Wind, Snow and Storms. It gives great details about how weather is formed and even has a "frequently asked question and answer" area near the ending of the book to exhibit what its readers should have learned from their previous reading of the text before the frequently asked questions area. The book also comes with a CD and a poster so that someone doing an assignment, like myself, can easily access the information they need for their assignment. In conclusion, I would recommend the book to other Students or to anyone needing to know about the World's Weathering System.
Beautiful pictures and simple definitions. It answered a lot of questions my children had and lended to our overall studies of weather. Even the section on "global warming" wasn't as daft as more modern books. It actually acknowledged natural climate changes and mere theories.
This is a children's nonfiction book. The information is given mostly through photographs (about 10 per 2-page-spread) with a short paragraph accompanying each picture. Each 2-page-spread teaches about a different aspect of weather (clouds, frost, etc.). I really enjoyed it. It reminded me of things I once knew (like the different types of clouds) and taught me new things, too (like how clouds form). It's not a page-turner, but was pretty interesting. It has too much text for my little ones, but now that I've read it I can summarize a page quickly for them. I'm looking forward to doing a "preschool" week on weather. The only problem is that now I want to by a home weather station!
This book contains all the info you would want to know about the complex - and sometimes dangerous - patterns of weather. Tornadoes, storm fronts, hail, and hurricanes are just some of the subjects covered in this book. Did this pique your interest? Explore the wild world of weather! I loved learning about why tornadoes are so dangerous and why the sky is blue. The facts in this books are fascinating, as well as the photos.
A great DK book on weather. It has pictures, facts, diagrams and facts. It talks about air movement, weather signs from plants and animals, tools used to measure aspects of weather, weather forecasting, sun, frost and ice, water in the air, types of clouds, rain, fronts and lows, thunder and lightning, snow, storms and wind.
Filled with facts and numerous pictures, this book will capture the attention of any child interested in weather or science. Detailed information, well labeled pictures, and an extensive glossary all make this book a great resource for older children wanting to learn about weather.

A lot of information in this book, but I found it hard to read. If you love the science of weather it is probably a great intro to some concepts, but I had trouble staying awake and focusing on it.
