I delayed reading this book after I read a preview of the third book and an event made me not want to read the book. The first book was really good, couldn't put it down. During the second book I was a bit frustrated with Jessi not being honest with Joe and then Joe's pride getting in the way. So when I read the extract of the third book, and saw Jessi again decided that a choice is best for everyone without discussing it with Joe, I was a bit angry with her.
But I am glad I read this book. The story is so easy to follow and you get so intrigued in the story, you want to see how it ends and actually hoping for the characters to sort out their issues. The love between Joe and Jessi feels so real, they do not feel like characters in a book but friends you know.
I also forgot what a big role Jari played in the second book by just loving Jessi and I continued to love her character in the final book, especially when she tells the truth like it is to Jessi.
The main biblical issues for me the characters had to deal with was fear, to completely trust God and that everything will work out for the best, to give up your ideas of God's plan for your life to completely submit to God's true plan for your life, a plan which is definitely the best.
I also loved how the author showed how the characters communicate with God. I love this in Christian fiction books. It feels so real and actually motivates me to dig deeper in my relationship with God.
So to summarize, after reading the third book in the series I can really recommend this series to everyone who loves Christian Romance. The Biblical principals throughout the series is so real and strong.
Promising Forever had me screaming “JUST SAY YOU LOVE EACH OTHER AND TRUST GOD, PLEASE!” 😭🙌
Joe and Jessi are finally together… but of course, life’s like “lol, not so fast.” Between fear, faith, and a few emotional curveballs, these two have to figure out what forever really means and it’s not just wedding bells and happily ever afters, it’s growth, grace, and a whole lot of praying through the chaos.
The heart of Promising Forever teaches that faith and love both require trust, surrender, and perseverance. Joe and Jessi learn that forever isn’t about everything going right it’s about relying on God when life doesn’t go as planned. The story shows how true commitment means choosing faith over fear, even when you don’t see the whole path ahead.
Through their struggles, the book reminds readers that God’s promises are steady even when our emotions aren’t and that trusting His timing often means letting go of control and allowing Him to shape the future.
Ultimately, it’s a lesson in faithful love rooted in grace, guided by prayer, and strengthened by patience. 🌿
This book picks up where the first in the series left off. It is heartwarming and tear jerking at times. A few of Jessi’s knee jerk decisions are downright frustrating but those only add to the story to make the conflict resolution that much better when it finally occurs.
If you enjoy getting involved with the characters in a series, this series was wonderful! Great Biblical lessons while enjoying a non-fiction novel. Easy reading.
