Wow, this book was awesome. I really loved the storyline. It meshed Twilight with Vampire Diaries, which are two of my absolute favorite things. The plot progression was so intriguing and it kept the reader guessing from the beginning. I hadn't read the blurb or I hadn't known anything about this book before I started reading it and I have to admit I was having a hard time reading chapter one. The details and background were there, but I had nothing to connect them to. I was also unaware if the person talking was male or female. But once I got past that, the story blew me away. I couldn't put the book down once I started going. I really loved all the plot twists. It really kept me guessing and when I thought I figured everything out, I was completely wrong. It was so exciting to see the story play out.

Parker is an awesome lead character. She has a great personality and she has a heart of gold. She really cares for everyone around her. She is naïve with the best intentions. Plus I have to comment on the fact that she is a huge movie buff, because so am I. When she talks about her closet where she keeps her movie collection, I totally found myself smiling like an idiot because I can totally relate to that and it sounds like my collection. Really had nothing to do with the plot of the story, just a very small detail that I really liked about her.

I really love Quinn's sarcastic attitude when he first meets Parker. That makes him likeable, at least for me, from the start. As the story progresses, Quinn becomes my favorite. The love he shows is so heartwarming and I totally would want to be with him!!

The other characters Jackie, Mitchell, Lizzy, and Will are great compliments to the main characters. Jackie is Parker's best friend. I really liked their relationship in the begin and how close they were. However, I started to dislike Jackie as the story went on. I really didn't start to like her again until the very end when everything unfolded and her actions were explained. Mitchell, Jackie's boyfriend, is super adorable. I just wanted to hug him throughout the entire book. Lizzy is not my favorite, but she definitely makes the story interesting. I won't say another word about her because I don't want to spoil her entrance and her role in this story!! Just know that she will be a surprise!!

Now on to Will. Where do I even begin!! I liked him and felt so sorry for him when he came into the story. However, my mind changed as the story progressed. He haunted the reader until the very end. Don't want to give anything away, but be warned that he is the character that will keep you on your toes and you will never see it coming!!

So overall, I would totally give this book 5 out of 5 stars for an intriguing plot with many twists and turns that keeps the reader guessing until the very end, strong characters with supernatural personalities, and an cliff hanging ending that makes you want to read book 2, like yesterday!! Wonderful job Amy, I can't wait to see what you have in story for Parker and the gang!! You Rock!!! :)

The opening of Cascades of Moonlight by Amy K. McClung immediately piqued my interest. This is not simply because I love shifter books, but I really liked the concept for Cascades of Moonlight. The idea that a girl has to cope with theses changes by herself intrigued me.

Initially, I warmed to Parker's character. I liked her resolve and her focus. With the first introduction of Quinn, I enjoyed their relationship interactions and the range of plot twists that were hard to second guess. This really enabled me to continue enjoying reading this book. However, my attitude toward Parker did change somewhat as the book progressed. In the end, her reactions irritated me a little; they certainly frustrated me. Although, it could be easily interpreted that Amy K. McClung has therefore created a very realistic teenager!

At times the storyline progressed at an unrealistic pace. Events or responses would happen that were a little too coincidental. Yet there were other times in the book where chapters and characters flowed and developed beautifully. I was a little frustrated by the dialogue; the flow between the characters at time was disjointed and didn't flow very naturally. Although, it's no big secret that generally character dialogue in books can disgruntle me a little.

I was really pleased with the way that McClung crafted the ending of this book. It reiterated her skill with plot twists and sets the book up nicely for the next in the series.

Cascades of Moonlight is a creative YA paranormal read with many unique qualities. Bex 'n' Books rated 3.5 fairies (4 stars for Amazon etc).

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review, Lovers of Paranormal.

I liked the premise of the book, the werewolf falling for the vampire. I liked the characters, most of the time, and enjoyed Parker's sarcastic comments. It was a bit odd that they were all so keen to 'fall in love' with each other so readily - maybe this is aimed more at the younger audience although I usually have no problems with YA books.

I have mixed feelings about this book but that could partly be due to the fact that the author did too. I found the convoluted emotional outbursts annoying at times, Parker is one minute very mature and able to work through her feelings and ridiculously immature the next, much more than usual teen hormones and angst would provide an excuse for.

The most difficult thing for me was sticking with it at the beginning when the bad punctuation was driving me mad and I needed to re-read sentences to mentally put them right. I have to say that if the story line was not so good I would have been tempted to skim my way through it. The writing style did not keep my attention.

What kept my attention was the good story with lots of twists and turns. There were lots of details and some back stories of the characters which also helps them appear more 'real'. I am looking forward to the next in the series to follow their tale.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the Author and the “Lovers of Paranormal” Group on Goodreads.com

I enjoyed this book. Vampires, werewolves, love, betrayal it had pretty much everything you want in a book. There were several surprises that I didn't see coming. I felt a lot of anticipation because of that. There were a couple of twists I didn't expect. I liked the characters. Quinn is very romantic and I couldn't help but love him. This is a good story and I do recommend it. It is an appropriate book for the YA audience. I am looking forward to reading the second book in the series.

This is definitely a very twisty, turny story that will keep you on your toes. The characters are quirky and well described, making it easy to get a handle on what kind of people they are, but at the same time, so many different events happen that it would be difficult to guess where they story could be headed.

When I first started reading, my initial thought was that the characters seemed a little immature. After thought, I realized that this book actually gives a fairly accurate take on how mid-teens act (at least in my experience), and it's just many of the other YA novels out there that make teenagers seem much more mature than the majority of children their age. Once I put this together, I found the characters much more enjoyable and even laughed at some of the names that were being tossed about. I really hadn't even thought of the insult "buttmunch" for at least 15 years. It took me back to my youth, and I enjoyed that feeling.

Although the plot and characters worked well for the story, I did have problems with the writing style. I'm a bit of an English nerd, and there were a lot of editing issues that made it difficult for me to read at times. Examples of this are multiple people talking in one paragraph, the first word of dialogue not being capitalized, or missing/misplaced commas. Under normal circumstances, I try to ignore these grammatical issues and enjoy the story, but in this case the errors were so often that I did start to become annoyed and it detracted from my reading.

Being the author's first book, she did a fantastic job creating a fun and catchy story that would be perfectly suited for the younger end of YA! All this book needs is a few final touches with the editing, and it'll easily be a 4-5 star book!

Note: I received a free copy of this book via smashwords from the author for honest review.

Favorite Lines “My secret hope had been that fairies were real, that is what I would really like to be”

“You do understand that none of what I said had any meaning behind it”

“He let go of me. I looked in his eyes and realized he meant it. He was an amazing man that would make any girl lucky, once she gets past the whole vampire issue of course.”

What c complicated amazing paranormal love story! Werewolf and Vampire fall in love! How could not love that!
Parker is a werewolf, Quinn is a vampire. When they meet its adorable! Parker has been using his abandoned house to change into a werewolf on the full moon and then one day when it's time for her to change he's there! Parker is so frustrated with him! I laughed at how she tried to stay mad at him but, couldn't! When she finds out Quinn is a vampire she's kinda surprised but then she's a werewolf anything is possible. Parker has 2 great friends Jackie and Mitchell but, they done know she's a werewolf. Then in comes poori injured Will a fellow werewolf injured by a bear Quinn immediately hates him but, does he have a reason!?!?
Great paranormal book that I will defiantly be reading more of!

I was given this book by the author.I really enjoyed it as I was taken into Parker's world as she tries to keep her secret from her family and her best friend Jackie. For 2 years she has been living a lie and now it may come out. As Quinn shows up to throw her for a loop and as her best friends boyfriend starts acting weird. Will Parker be able to learn the truth who Quinn really is? As Will comes in town and strange things start happening can Parker ever be happy with Quinn? Will Parker find out who in Quinn's past is trying to hurt them? I want to say I thought this was an excellent read. I gave it a 4 stars because in the beginning it was a slow read but after that it got better. I can't wait to see what happens in the 2nd book as Parker and Quinn and Mitchell and Jackie are all so awesome characters. This is a excellent read and i reccomend it.

One thing I loved about this book was the fact Quinn doesn't beat around the bush, "He sat down his fork, and leaned in toward me, his breath smelling like roses and softly spoke, "I know you are a werewolf, hon. So, when did you first turn?" I loved Parker and her sarcastic ways and the fact that she's finally telling her BFF Jackie her secret that she has kept for two years to herself, and bringing her up to speed on all the supernatural stuff as well. "Quinn is a vampire, I'm in love with him and he turned your boyfriend into one too, isn't that awesome. Now, if I turn you into a werewolf we can all be together and happy!!" I truly can't wait for the next book in the series. Amy has a gift with words, and talent, I rarely get excited for book series but I'm really excited about this one!

Wow this book was kinda intense. So many things where happening, one thing after another that you had to read faster because you just wanted to know what was going to happen next. It was a good story with action and twist and turns, that the author had you guessing what would happen next. I couldn't put the book down till I had read it all.
Quinn and Parker were great couple thy where meant to be because no matter what situation they were thrown into they over came it be together. I can't wait to read the next one to see what happens next and what other twist and turns the author ha planned for her characters.
I gave this book five stars because the author kept me super entertained with her story and just kept me wanting to read more and more.

A love story where opposites attract. Vampires and werewolves abound in this sorry. Unfortunately it wasn't everything I was hoping it was, and the lack of longer editing proved to make it a difficult read.

A young girl was bitten by a werewolf and loved with the secret for nearly two years before a vampire moved to town and started attending her high school. He knew from the start what she was and told her so immediately. All she knew was werewolves were supposed to be enemies with vampires but her heart told her there was more to him than the information she had found online. Her closest friends end up becoming something other than human and life as a teenager proves to have many obstacles even for the paranormal. It's not a bad read, just not one that I would read again.

The premise of the book is good: vampires and werewolves with teen angst!! That's one tough combo! Parker has struggled with the secret of her identity for what seems a long time. She hides from her friends and family. Her life turns more complicated when she meets Quinn, a mysterious character who knows all too well about her true self!! She tries to fight her feelings for him, but can't! Ah teen angst it could kill you!! The story was funny and had twists and turns. Overall a good read!

Very unique, i gave 4 stars instead of 5 only because i found the style of writing to get on my nerves at times. The author did not use any contractions .. not sure why it annoyed me but it did. Other than that i loved the story line and found it hard to put down! Parker was a bit of a cry baby, bit all the hotties made up for that! Great book for teens and adults!
The story line was gret , i really did enjoy it

Once i got into this book, I was well and truly hooked!!! I could not put this book down. As the story goes i was sucked in and was seeing it play out in my head. Man, the emotions that i went through with this book are just crazy. It's not very often that i connect with the characters and feel what they are feeling. This was one book that i was along for the ride with them. Looking forward to reading Book 2!

I loved the concept of this story. Yet the author didn't really have me hooked. The story was quite good, but the way it was told was not that believable. There are some grammatical errors throughout. The characters were all too perfect. How can Parker be a werewolf for 2 years and not know more about herself? I did enjoy the story. I'll read Book 2 of this series, because I want to follow the story. It's not a bad read, just an ok one.

Of course I loved it. This is a book I wrote. It is my first and I plan to write 3 in this series. This was written during a rough transition in my life and it helped me get through the changes without losing myself in stress. I hope you will enjoy reading about Parker and her friends as much as i enjoyed telling their story.

**I received this book in exchange for an honest review (LoP or Lovers of Paranormal)**

I found this book highly annoying and I don't know if it was just me but honestly I spent most of the book in a state of confusion. I also found the characters a little bit tedious but I suspect that may have been because it was the first book in a series and there wasn't a great deal of development. In actual fact despite these things which I hope will be rectified in the rest of the series I think the series shows a lot of promise.

The main character is Parker she is a 17/18 year old girl who is also a werewolf, she lives in a small town called Cascade where everyone knows everyone else which is why she is not only surprised but instantly drawn to the two new boys who move to town. Then she finds out the two boys true supernatural identity and a killer comes to town, a killer Parker and her friends insist on trying to stop. After that is where I got little confused and remained like that until pretty much the end. I found Parker a little bit annoying as a character I think because she didn't seem to use being a werewolf to her advantage and she depended on the new boys in her life to save her in my opinion too much.

The secondary characters are Quinn, Will, Jackie and Mitchell. Quinn and Will are the two new boys who come to live in Cascade they each have their secrets one more than the other. And we learn more about Jackie and Mitchell as they come into their new powers. I thought the secondary characters were good and served their purpose of displaying different aspects of Parker 's personality however I thought the relationships between the characters got ultimately very confusing.

The pacing was good and I think even the confusing part add to the story to create more suspense.

The storyline was great and I feel the story as a whole has a lot of potential and I liked that the characters were actively fighting the vampire/ werewolf war. I also feel like I could grow to like Parker if she started to use her werewolf to protect herself instead of relying on the boys to protect her.

2.5 ish stars, I like the concept but found parts of the story difficult to understand.

This is book one of a three part trilogy. The synopsis / description provides a good overview of the storyline and I will not try to improve on this. I am going to say right up front that I received this series from the author with a request for my honest review without any compensation whatsoever, other than the joy of reading a new book. That being said it should be noted that this installment of the trilogy ends in an incredible cliffhanger, so you will want to have the next installment on hand to keep going and find out what happens next. I really enjoyed the read and had a great time getting to know the characters and their world. The writing was in my opinion clean and engaging. The characters were well defined and I could picture them in my mind and quickly became invested in their journey. There is action, suspense, betrayal, young love, and some smiles all wrapped up in a different take on vampires and werewolves. The only negative in my opinion is the cliffhanger ending that had I not already had book two would have had me gritting my teeth and is the reason for the four star rating. Definitely recommend the trilogy for mature YA readers on up as there are some sexual references, although not explicit, and violence.

I got this book from the author, free of cost, in exchange of an honest review from my side.
Firstly I would like to thank the author for giving me this opportunity of reading and reviewing this book.
I got this book from Lovers of Paranormal Group of Goodreads for Read & Review.
Well, to be honest the concept didn’t stand out for me compared to the other shifter stories but I liked the execution very much. The writing style of the author seemed to be a little weak in case of grammatical perfection but over all I liked the presentation of the scenes. Regarding the characters I have a mixed feeling, I mean sometimes the main character seemed to be very matured and straight-forward but other times she seemed to be downright stupid.
Over all a good read which deserves a shot of course but I didn’t get much impressed by this book and the most negative factor about this story is that I couldn’t connect with the plot and the characters which I also read in other reviews that they faced this same problem. The cliff-hanger is great and I’ll go through book 2 just for the cliff-hanger in book 1.

I was on roll, so I thought I'd give another YA novel a try. I was not disappointed in this werewolf and vampire story, that didn't always go in the direction I expected. Lots of twists and turns-- a bit more teen angst than I like, but since this is common for this genre, I took that into consideration with my rating. Well written characters, and a twisty-turny plot that was fun to follow- and often surprising. A good read!

I like the concept but not sold on the writing style. I feel like the book has a lot of filler information. I did find that I like Quinn's attitude in the beginning. Although I am not sold on the whole love at first sight concept at least I didn't connect to it in this story. I am going to keep reading Parker's journey and see will it will take me

Dreams, Spells, and Moonlight is book 2 of the Parker Harris Series, but I had to read book 1 Cascades of Moonlight first.

This series embodies YA, giving us all the hallmarks of an EPIC Paranormal YA Series!

· Vampires, witches, and werewolves, OH MY!!!
· Angst-ridden characters
· Lies, deceit, and heartbreak

And last, but by no means least.

· Soul mates and love triangles

All these must-haves wrapped in a beautiful, but unassuming cover.

A wonderful read for all. However, I feel the young reader will be drawn to the book once introduced. Besides the life changing events of the supernatural, the normal teen trials make it totally relate-able.Friends, family, and freaky and the interchange as one merge's to another. Looking forward to more.....
