“The action is non-stop in Paige Edwards' romantic adventure novel. Her plot is uniquely complex, informing an astute audience that there is more than one moral at the end of this story. Skye Fall is an exciting novel in a class of its own." -Five-Star Readers' Favorite Review.

Have you been reading the Pressley-Coombes books? Or are you a newbie to them? You could definitely pick up this book very easily without having read the previous ones. But I love a good series read in order with knowing all the background tidbits so of course I'm going to recommend you reading them all!!! But you truly could read this by itself and be completely satisfied!
I've loved all of the Pressley-Coombes books but I'm going to say it...this is MY FAVORITE!!!! Oh my heart! Ben and Isla are just perfection!
This book starts with a punch in the gut! Almost literally. I'll let you read to figure it out. But Paige Edwards sure knows how to pack a punch and get the tension flowing and hook her readers! It was an amazing ride from beginning to end. And the sweet romance woven throughout the mystery and suspense was lovely. But I was still stressing for Isla and hoping she would be safe. That initial meet-cute was definitely more of a meet-oops and meet-laugh-out-loud! Poor Ben!
Ben's dad, Richard, was such a sweetheart and so kind and caring. He saw through Isla's facade and was the catalyst to her being saved and protected. And let's just say that she definitely needed someone fighting in her corner for her.
The imagery was beautiful! I felt like if I closed my eyes I could see it all and feel the breeze and smell the smells. I definitely have some places added to my bucket list!
Favorite things...the fairy lights, the telescope. The cutting of vegetables. Flowers, gardening, overalls, paints. And soooo much more! I need to go back and just dive into all of the goodness of this book. The sweet marriage of convenience love story and all of the clues scattered throughout!!!
And make sure you read the author's notes at the end! I loved what she had to say! So very important!!!
Content: Clean. Some mild moments of peril, attacks, death, but nothing overly graphic. Clean language. Sweet kisses but nothing further.
I received a copy from the publisher, Covenant Communications, via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.
Wow! Paige Edwards pulls out all the stops in this thrilling conclusion to the Pressley-Coombes series! From the first chapter, the action is nonstop as Isla Montjoy fights for her life after witnessing something she shouldn’t have. Left for dead, she miraculously survives and is on the run. Her high profile name and father’s governmental position will place her family in danger if she’s discovered alive by her dirty cop ex-boyfriend; so, she changes her name and has been relying on her love of nursing and painting for support for the last two years.
Ben Pressley-Coombes vows not to fall under the spell of the family’s tradition of falling deeply in love. He’s too worried about his family’s company going bankrupt after a trusted employee stole millions of dollars. On top of that, his father just fell while hiking in the Highlands and is severely injured. Not to mention that the beautiful woman who sprayed him with pepper spray after he startled her, just happens to be his father’s nurse. He’s a little stressed to say the least. That doesn’t stop him from protecting the maddeningly endearing woman when there’s a killer after her.
From the gorgeous Scottish Highlands to beautiful Virginia, this story packs a wallop! I was on the edge of my seat as Isla’s ex seems to always be one step ahead. The minute he discovers her location, he’s right there and even follows her across the pond to the U.S. The suspense kept me hurriedly turning the pages, along with the heartfelt romance.
Ben is such a lovable grump. He’s got a heart of gold, but his disastrous first meeting with Isla doesn’t bring out the best in him. The more he gets to know Isla, it’s clear they’re perfect for each other. I loved the modern marriage of convenience story and forced proximity. I loved the fairy lights, cooking lessons, Isla’s love of gardening, and her painting. I also loved the Pressley-Coombes family dynamics. Ben’s a twin and so there’s a lot of good natured teasing and fun. Cue the jelly beans & hot dogs!
I loved that there were two mysteries going on simultaneously. Both were well written and compelling. I also loved the way faith was expressed throughout the story. Isla has such a difficult time in dealing with her past trauma and Ben helps her find peace through renewed faith. (Don’t miss the author’s touching message at the end.)
This is a must read for Christian romantic suspense fans! Although part of a series, it can easily be read as a standalone, but I guarantee, you’ll want to go back and read the previous books. I received an advanced complimentary copy from the publisher. All opinions are my own and voluntarily provided.
Do not open this book unless you have time! Or agree that sleep is overrated. I know people need to be fed (that’s what cereal is for) and there’s work (take long breaks?) But it grabbed me from the very first line and took me on a gripping journey across the pond and back.
Isla is in the right place at the wrong time. And she cannot escape the consequences of what she sees. She barely escapes with her life, but the bad guy is bad. So bad. She is trying to hide and obviously jumpy when she meets an American visiting Scotland by pepper spraying him. Yep. That’s a story to pass on for generations. And oh how I love Ben.
This romantic suspense novel is part of the Pressley-Coombes books, but totally stands alone. I haven’t read the others and now I need to. I’m completely invested!
This is also a book with Christian elements that are so well done and I just wanted to give almost everyone hugs, karate chop the bad guys, get my hands dirty in the garden, throw pies into several faces, and show up at the Presley Coombes Christmas dinner because it must be a blast.
The balance between the romance and suspense was perfect. And I want to go to Scotland. And paint. Like with my fingers because I am not blessed with that talent.
This is now a new go to author for me and I highly recommend putting this on your TBR list! I don’t want to spoil anything, but promise that your eyes will get a work out reading as fast as you will want to. So clearly this book will also burn calories. Bonus.
I received a complimentary copy and these are my own slightly obsessed thoughts. The author’s notes touched me and brought deeper meaning to the challenges Isla faced. Such a good read!
This series has been an exciting one from the first book. I love the Pressley-Coombes family. I was excited that Ben was finally going to have his story told.
Isla Montjoy is a brave woman who has been on the run from her bad cop former boyfriend, Shay. He thought she was dead but she survived and knows a lot about the corrupt group of important men who would go down if Isla spilled what she heard. She is left with a lot of trauma from the attack.
Ben Pressley-Coombes is on vacation with his father, Richard. His dad gets hurt on the climb up the mountain. Ben & Isla's fates collide again after a bad first meeting on the beach. With Shay after Isla, and Ben feeling the need to protect her is when the action ramps up. Skye Fall is non-stop action with lip-biting action from me. You never knew when Shay would show up and try to kill Isla.
Ben and his father find out that all of their corporation's money is gone. Someone has drained all of their accounts and now their business is in trouble. It was great how seamlessly the author combined both parts of the story. Ben and Isla are a wonderful couple. I loved how fierce and gentle Ben could be. He helped Isla through much of her healing and shared his Christian values to trust in God again.
I loved this Romantic Suspense. Skye Fall has tremendous action along with some very nice romantic moments. Even though this is the fourth book in the series, it can be read as a stand-alone but don't do that to yourself. Reading from book one first will give you more insight into the Pressley-Coombes family. Each book has been incredible, so go right now and get the books from this series.
Skye Fall is an action-filled Christian romantic suspense that captured my interest from the very start. Isla is a very resourceful young woman who is on the run and is a very capable nurse. She has an encounter with American Ben and his father while they are on a climbing trip in Scotland. Fate couldn’t have given them a better opportunity and the adventure, danger and mystery only served to make this story perfectly perfect.
The painting, the setting, the romance, the suspense, the religious elements, and the characters made this one so well-rounded and balanced. The forced proximity and twists and turns were some of my favorite parts. I haven’t read the others in this series, but now I want to, and this book can stand alone.
Content: mild romance; mild moments of danger and peril; mild religion
*I received a complimentary copy. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own and were voluntarily given*
Edwards has crafted a suspenseful and emotional story that I could not put down. I was immediately drawn in to Ben and Isla’s lives. Isla was on the run and her fear was so real I felt it coming off of the pages. I felt for her as she tried to live a normal life while trying to hide in plain sight. Her love for nursing and healing others was beautiful especially in light of her own story.
Ben was such a sweet and kind character. I loved his desire to take care of everyone and everything. He was so strong even when things were so difficult. Edwards weaves in the importance of healing and faith during this emotional story and it really hits home. One of the best Christian romantic suspense novels I have read in a long time, Skye Fall is a definite must read! I received a complimentary copy of this book; all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Isla Montjoy is newly in love with her policeman boyfriend when she discovers he’s a crooked cop who is involved in an organization that covers up their crimes—by making sure no one lives to tell about them. Isla survives her brutal attack and goes into hiding to protect her family. After changing her name and settling in a small town in the Scottish highlands, Isla meets Ben Pressley-Coombes and his father—right before her ex-boyfriend tracks her down and tries to kill her. In order to protect her, Ben and his family take her in and spirit her away to the U.S. Isla is drawn to Ben and his kindness and decency, but she’s afraid to let herself feel anything for him. He gives her a sense of safety she hasn’t had in a long time and part of her wants to give in and let herself fall in love. Does she dare? Or will danger find her again?
This book is loaded with mystery, suspense, and a sigh-worthy romance. Read the rest of my review at Meridian Magazine! https://latterdaysaintmag.com/book-ch...
Skye Fall was a suspenseful read that I was interested in from the first chapter. I really liked the family dynamics of the Pressley - Combes. I didn’t realize this was part of a series but it could be read without reading the others. I would like to go back and read the others now. I did like faith aspect to the story, however I did not like the reason that Shay used for why Isla was wanted, with desecrating relics or churches ( this wasn’t true, just a lie). The lie bugged me why they had to use that excuse when they could have used something else. Overall, besides this I did enjoy the book!
I received an advanced copy of this book from Netgalley and was not required to write a review.
Isla Montjoy is on the run. Her ex-boyfriend is a corrupt cop. She found out what was happening, and he left her for dead, but she wasn't and is in hiding now. She is a nurse in Scotland, where she has fled to from England, under an alias. So far, she has been able to hide from her ex. She then meets Ben Pressley-Coombes, who is visiting the highlands from the USA. Their first meeting doesn't go well, but when his father ends up in the hospital, she is his nurse. Isla and Ben still aren't on the best of terms but when Isla's ex shows up, they have to work together to keep Isla safe, and maybe they will find love along the way.
I loved this story. It is very fast paced, and wonderfully written. The author definitely holds your attention throughout the story. There were definitely a few moments where I was holding my breath at what would happen. Isla is so brave and strong she gets beat up (literally) and just takes it. She also is willing to protect those she loves. I also loved Ben. He is so sweet and helps Isla with everything. He wants to see her healed from the trauma she has endured but more importantly come to know Jesus. Their relationship is so beautiful. I really enjoyed this story and I definitely recommend.
Content: physical abuse of a woman (stabbing/cutting with knife, punching, etc.) nothing too graphic.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
This is an action packed romantic suspense Christian fiction. With a modern marriage of convenience/fake marriage and secret identity. Both main characters have dealt with trauma and loss and healing is a big theme to the story. 🖼️ Isla has been on the run for 2 years after witnessing evil dirty cops. She is a nurse in Scotland and enjoys painting but makes sure to stay isolated and alone. Never letting anyone into her life in case she has to run again. 🖼️ Ben and his dad Richard are traveling through Scotland and their path crosses with Isla. Ben and Isla start off on the wrong foot but as luck would have it - the 2nd time they meet isn’t any better 🥴 🖼️ Richard extends a helping hand to Isla that she can’t refuse. Even if it means being in close quarters to Ben. 🖼️ Best laid plans and all leads to a quick marriage. I loved seeing Isla and Ben become friends and get to know each other. 🖼️ This is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone. I haven’t read the other books and didn’t feel lost but seeing the characters of the other books makes me want to read them. 🖼️ This is a multi POV with the villain too so the reader sees how it’s playing out and can guess what’s going to happen next but there are some surprises too. 🖼️ This released last month. Thanks to the publisher for an e-arc. These are my own thoughts and opinions. 🖼️ Content: Can be triggering the domestic violence, mild fighting scenes, talk of deceased parent, scars and injuries, faith, prayer, trust in God
This is my first Paige Edwards book and it definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. The book is full of action and a nice thread of romance. Isla is put through the wringer but still stays strong especially with Ben’s help. I enjoyed watching their relationship deepen. I really loved Ben’s character! He is kind and considerate, but also doesn’t back down in doing what is right. The mystery surrounding the company had an unexpected twist to it! And the outcome to that situation plus Isla’s was very satisfying.
I didn’t love the Christian elements of the story. Most of the book was subtle but a couple of chapters towards the end got stronger which I mostly just skipped/skimmed. But the main plot really held my attention!
I received an advanced copy of this book from the author. I was not required to leave a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Wow! What a phenomenal book. I absolutely loved this book. I was totally into it by the end of the first chapter and then became more engrossed with each succeeding chapter. This book is the story of Isla who entered her boyfriend’s apartment unannounced and found things she definitely did not expect, then only to be threatened, attacked, and left under a bridge by that boyfriend. Now she is in hiding, running from town to town as her ex-boyfriends tries to locate her and finish the job of eliminating her. In her job as a nurse, she meets Richard, a victim of a mountain climbing accident, and his son, Ben. As Richard is healing under Isla’s care, Ben is struggling with the discovery that there has been some major embezzlement taking place in his father’s company. When circumstances align and Richard offers her a job in the States helping with his recovery, she agrees hoping for safety but with her ex being a police officer with all of the power of the police, the embezzlement, Ben being all she ever could want, and the trauma from all she has endured things are not smooth in any way shape or form. An absolutely wonderful read. Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the copy. This is my review and all thoughts are my own.
As usual Paige is a magician with word that she blends into stories thank make you fall in love with the characters and feel as if you are right there with those characters. Unlike other books I've read this one touched me deeply with it's subplot about abuse both physical and mental. It endeared me to Isla even more and I feel like I truly know her. Ben also has his own demons and I felt deeply for him as he face the obstacles stacked against him. Honestly, this is a fascinating book with both settings in the UK and the US which makes me long for one: to return for a visit to Virginia, and two: to finally visit Scotland like I've wanted to do since I was a little girl.
This romantic suspense had constant action. Isla is on the run from her corrupt cop boyfriend and working as a nurse in the UK. Ben and his father are on a trip when his dad is injured and Isla cares for him. Her boyfriend catches up to her and Ben is swept into helping her. They go back to the United States where Ben is dealing with a failing family business and a mystery surrounding it. If you like romance, suspense, and talk of faith you will really enjoy this book!
“…Fear consumes the soul, and destroys every human interaction…” ~ Isla
My first Paige Edwards book and I can’t believe how much I have been missing out on! This book was spectacular. Fast paced, full of suspense, with characters who embraced their faith and family.
This book is an enemies to more, he saves and protects her, marriage of convenience with a fragile love story and an eye popping grand gesture. A woman running from her past, to spare those she loves from harm. A man carrying the weight of the world, trying to save his family’s legacy. Two unlikely strong, selfless people brought together by Providence. We see them deal with their preconceived notions of one another, fear, abuse, betrayal, and how surrendering all to God helps to heal and trust and move on.
This is book 4 of the Pressley-Coombs series. I have not read the others and had no trouble picking this one up. It can be read as a standalone. But I promise you, I’ll be going back and reading about the rest of the family very soon.
A wonderful, clean, Christian romantic suspense that doesn’t shy away from true faith or prayer or belief.
Thank you to NetGalley for my advanced copy, all opinions are my own.
Loved it! It was hard to put down. The characters were very personable and I loved how they interacted together. I liked this one so much I purchase some of the first in the series.
Thank you for an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review. These opinions are my own.
Isla is on the run from her bad-cop ex-boyfriend, using a fake name in order to keep her high profile family safe. Ben is in Scotland with his father, Richard, on a birthday climbing trip when his father is seriously injured. His father is taken to the hospital where Isla is working and she's assigned to be his nurse. Ben demands another nurse care for his father because of a previous interaction with Isla (it's really funny and I don't want to spoil it) but his father overrides Ben and keep Isla as his nurse. This ends up helping Isla hide from her ex-boyfriend and the others who still want her dead.
Ben is dealing with a lot--his father's injury in another country, getting him back home to the U.S., trying to figure out a way to save the family company and also track down the dishonest employee. He did not want to be attracted to Isla, let alone fall in love with her, but it seems life had other plans for him.
Isla is such a strong woman! I doubt I would have survived multiple attempts on my life and been able to continue to carry on as a nurse helping others. I think I would've cracked and let my family know what was going on a lot sooner than Isla did. I would've needed their support.
Things I loved: * The hilarious meet-cute * Ben's kind heart * Isla's strength * Seeing other Pressley-Coombes family members * The twist * Marriage of Convenience * Close proximity * Multiple POVs * Isla's painting
These Pressley-Coombes siblings sure know how to get themselves into situations which makes for a thrilling ride for us readers. This one grabbed me right away as it starts with a character fighting for her life! I loved the multiple points of view especially getting the bad guy's POV--I find the way they think very interesting. Romantic suspense is one of my favorite genres and I've loved every book I've read by Paige Edwards. Believe me, you don't want to miss this one. You can read this one as a standalone but I highly recommend reading all the Pressley-Coombs books.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions in this review are my own.
Skye Fall is a fast, well paced romantic suspense novel. Isla Montjoy is a nurse who goes into hiding when she learns her new boyfriend is mixed up in a corruption. Unfortunately he is a police detective and he doesn’t want any witnesses. His first attack almost kills her. While hiding in the HIghlands she meets Ben-Presseley-Coombes. They meet again when his father has a climbing accident and she is his nurse. Ben at first is a bit pompous and he has his own worries going on with major theft at his family business. But his instinct is to protect Isla.
I enjoyed the story, the mysteries and romance. I have read a novella by the author previously and a book she has co-authored with others. I was happy to pick up my first full length novel from Paige Edwards. This is a clean book except for physical peril. It is a part of a series of romances about the Presley-Coombes but can be read as a stand alone. Ben’s siblings from the other books make appearances here. Thank you to NetGalley and Covenant Communications for the ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review. (4.5 Stars)
The Heirs of Falcon Point was co-authored by Ms. Edwards andI enjoyed it. So technically, this is my first full book by the author. Skye Fall is the fourth book in the series. I wish I had read the others but I think this can still be read as a standalone. What truly shines is the delightful dynamic between the Pressley-Coombes siblings. Their playful affection is an absolute joy to witness.
The simmering danger threaded through the narrative, but the initial pace felt measured, drawing out the agonizing fear of Shay's proximity to Isla. Richard, and then Ben, stepping in as guardians warmed my heart with their unwavering loyalty. The romance was a subplot but sweet nonetheless. I also appreciate some faith content laced in the story.
The Scottish setting was beautiful. I had fun looking up pictures of the Fairy Pools. They are beautiful. This was a good first book for 2024. I can’t wait to dive into the author's other books.
Rating: 4 ⭐ Series: A Pressley-Coombes Romantic Suspense Book 4 Pub date: out now
Thank you Covenant Communications and #netgalley for the complimentary copy. All opinions expressed are my own.
Another book club book. None of my book club friends are going to believe this, but every time they pick one of these silly romances I truly go in with an open mind hoping that each will finally be the one I also love.
This one was not it.
In fact, I hate this book so much that reading it felt like physical pain.
Nothing against the author or anyone who adores this book. I mean it’s your typical over-the-top, ridiculous little love story. And I actually appreciated the author’s note at the end. There was just so much about this story that resonated personally that it felt like constant intentional kicks to the face.
This was a clean romance and the story had potential, but it was hard for me to get through. I had lots of yard work to do or I probably wouldn’t have continued listening. One of the reasons I didn’t like this book was the poor narration - over dramatic and grating. I see that many others enjoyed it?????
Oh my goodness! This was soooo awesome! I hadn’t read the books in the series, but didn’t matter! I was hooked from the very beginning! I loved the characters and the craziness of the suspenseful story! I was so thankful for all the points of view! But mostly I really enjoyed the love that came from turning our burdens to Him! What a beautiful book! Enjoy!
Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC! All opinions are mine!
Loved the story, the setting, and it was hard to put down. She had things to overcome, and Christian themes were used. Highly recommend the whole Pressley-Coombes series.
I really enjoyed "Skye Fall" by Paige Edwards. This novel started off with a bang and kept my attention the whole way through! There was suspense and non-stop action. I really liked the main characters, and I loved seeing the way their relationship blossomed. The author did a really good job at making the characters and story believable. I found myself cheering for Isla and Benjamin the whole way through! I highly recommend this book!
I received this book from the publisher through NetGalley for my honest opinion.
Meh. Ok storyline. Liked the characters. But maybe a little too much Christian-ness. I love Jesus but prefer my fiction to be separate from my spiritual.
Fantastic! I love the Pressley-Coombs books. Paige did such a good job of covering how someone who has suffered severe trauma would react and grow and change. I love all the character's growth all the way around. I love being set on the other side of the pond and coming back to America with those differences. It was such an enthralling ride. Highly recommend it. 😊
I enjoyed the first few chapters of this book, but slowly lost interest after that. I’m not sure why. Maybe because the dialogue sounded a bit stiff to me? Or because of the way the plot develops?
I did appreciate the Christian elements (though they are not a major part of the story) and I liked that the characters pray..
Loved this story! I ignored my chores because I couldn't put this book down, and it was totally worth it!
What an excellent romantic suspense story, I hope the author continues to write more books about this family and their adventures, I am hooked!
Poor Isla is running for her life, literally, after discovering her boyfriend isn't who she thought he was. She distances herself from her family to protect them, and she has to move often so Shay doesn't find her again. She comes from a wealthy background, has a heart for nursing, and is a talented painter.
Ben Pressley-Coombes is a great combination of broody, protector, funny, selfless, and romantic. His family dynamics especially with his identical twin is a hoot! He is the perfect friend for Isla. He and his dad meet Isla in Scotland and offer her a way out.
I really enjoyed this story and could not put it down!! Highly recommend for lovers of romantic suspense.
Thank you to the author for allowing me to read an early copy. All opinions are my own.
Skye Fall is the fourth installment of Paige Edwards’ series, Pressley-Coombes. I love this family and all the fun and drama that happens amongst the siblings. If you love travel and espionage coupled with family shenanigans, this series should be on your radar. Be sure and grab your copy!!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. The opinions expressed are completely my own.
