On Demarkus James's first day as the new hotel manager, everyone - particularly the female contingent - are disappointed that he's quite the opposite of your typical hottie. But soon after his arrival, rumor’s circulate among the staff in the building about Demarkus and one of his colleagues. The way she always exits their private meetings, straightening her hair and struggling to walk like a lady, doesn’t help lessen the drama, a combination of a little gossip...and a lot of lust. Unwilling to simply watch every other woman basking in the glow of whatever Mr. Jones has going on in the bedroom (and the boardroom), our heroine begins a quest that starts at a staff party with the potential to end in Demarkus James’s apartment. Finding out if the new guy is truly as gifted as his shameless swagger - and his growing number of work groupies - portray him isn’t difficult thanks to an up close and personal encounter on the dance floor. Sure enough, there is much more to this package than meets the eye, and when Mr. Jones finally comes calling about "professional business," she’s eager to learn the mouth-watering Demarkus knows how to put it down, proving that no woman should ever judge a book by its cover.
Pandora Richardson, a visionary in Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance, invites readers into worlds where mystery meets magic. Her first novel, Lost, published in 2012, introduced readers to the captivating Amelia Jones series, and after a writing hiatus, she’s back, more inspired than ever. Recently, Pandora completed Book 2 of the Amelia Jones series and is deep into her next planned novel series. When she’s not conjuring new realms, you might find her savoring a scoop of Chunky Monkey, always ready for the next twist in the tale.
This is my second book that I have read by Ms. Richardson. Mr. James walks into the office and turns it upside down with his sexual trysts amongst his employees. All the female employees want a piece of him no matter what the consquences are and he had no problem making their fantasies come true. Hot sex scenses. I wish it had more of a storyline. I just couldn't really get into this story. It wasn't horrible though. It was okay.
The short story was cute. It kept my attention and I didn’t feel as if I was reading garbage. It would work very well in a novel that either focuses on other encounters for the main character, other encounters of some of the other workers, OR encounters of a group of friends of which the main character is a member (Like Sex in the City).
