The Wolf's Mate #3

Callie & The Cats

Rate this book
Book 3 in The Wolf's Mate Series

Callie Hunter, best friend to alpha half-wolf Cadence, has had enough of the pack life. Setting her sights on anyplace without wolves, she heads north only to be sidetracked by a devastating car crash that brings her face to face with twin mountain lions.

Ethan and Eryx, small town sheriff's deputies, knew the moment they touched Callie that she was the mate they'd always wanted. But mountain lion females don't take kindly to sharing their males with anyone else and will do anything in their power to discourage Callie from sticking around. Will Ethan and Eryx's desire for Callie cost them everything, or will Callie find her inner wolf and the home she's always dreamed of?

This novel contains menage-a-trois, hunky cops, handcuffs, an on-the-run she-wolf, sex in every room in the house, and inappropriate use of the phrase "assault with a deadly weapon".

Most of the rating is for the amazingly sweet and caring Hs. Yes, these mountain lion males are no alphas, but my heart broke for all the males in the pride, we could actually feel their love starvation. The male MCs are definitely one of the most devoted Hs I've ever read about, Callie really was the center of Eryx and Ethan's world!

I just love this series. I love the characters and the approach the author takes to the were/shifter community.
description
Book three revolves around Callie. She's what I would call the Omega best friend to the Alpha female to the local wolf pack. Callie used to be just fine with her low rank status in the pack. Until her best friend became Alpha female and continued to show favoritism to her. This caused much strife in the pack, so Callie made the tough decision to go rouge, leaving the pack behind to hopefully settle in a human community and just blend. Little does Callie know that mother nature has other plans for her in the form of a set of twin mountain lion shifters.
hot twins
Ethan and Eryx are basically hot sex to the tenth power, time's two. They are kind, gentle, nurturing and they crave companionship. To say that the mountain lion females are cold and emotionless would be putting it mildly. My only complaint was that the men were so sweet, when I really wanted them to open a can of "whoop ass" on the evil lionesses. I also understand that female shifters should handle their own battles so maybe Callie was to blame.

The ending was bittersweet. I hated the way Cadence behaved at the wedding and was upset to see their friendship ruined by jealousy.

A solid 3.5 star, so I'm rounding up to 4 stars. This series continues to grow as one of my favorite were series. Each book is creative, the characters are very likable and the sex is hot. I look forward to more of the Wolf's mate series.

2.5 stars.

This is the second book I've read by R.E. Butler and after this book, I will not read anything else by her.

The writing and plot is okay, but truth is, R.E. Butler's world is not one I would want to live in or learn more about. Her shifters have the worst lives ever. Friends aren't really friends and happily ever after isn't all that happy. The same people the reader loved in one book are like villains in the next. I can't deal with that.

In this book, Callie leaves her pack, after a**hole Jason (hero in Wolf Mate 1) punishes his pregnant mate, Cadence (heroine Wolf Mate 1) for not putting Callie in her place. Cadence refused because Callie is her best friend and she has protected her for years. For pack wolves, you have to fight for respect and weaker wolves are neglected and abused. Oh, and its normal for unmated females to be raped by unmated males. Great life.

Callie ends up in the arms of lion shifters and is threatened by the lion females because all lion females are cold, sociopaths. Awesome.

Fast Forward to Callie's HEA, and we see Cadence and Jason again. Callie has ignored Cadence since moving away and Cadence is jealous of Callie because her mate, Jason doesn't give her the attention and care that Callie is getting from her new mates. He won't even go out of his way to pick up treats to satisfy her pregnancy cravings. So much for happily ever after...

Overall, Butler's shifter world is depressing as hell and I can't stomach reading about it anymore.

I loved this book!!!

I love Callie's character in the previous books so was glad that she had one written specifically about her.

I like that, compared to the previous books in the series, this has more than just wolf shifters in it. I like that the romance in this book is between two shifter breeds and isn't a typical relationship - one she-wolf and twin male mountain lions.

In terms of character development, this book is so far the best in the series - Callie really finds herself.

I was a little disappointed that Callie didn't get her own back on the female mountain lions - I was hoping she would have gone all wolf on their arses. They got what was coming to them in the end though.

I really loved the ending and glad that it was a happily ever after - they deserved it I think.

Compared to other shifter books that I have read, this book was unique - I haven't read a book where there are shifters like the female mountain lions (the way they act towards the men and cubs) so it was refreshing.

The book started off okay for me. I liked Callie from the previous books, and I even liked the twins, her two mates in the book. But I was eagerly awaiting the part in the book where she finds her backbone, where she learns to stand up for herself and her beliefs. However, apparently I was bound to be disappointed. But the book started to go downhill for me when she pretty much cut off contact with Cadence, her best friend from previous books. I understood her wanting to leave her Pack, but to totally write-off her friends in the process?? But I ignored that and continued to trudge forward through the book. My thinking was that maybe she just wanted to get used to her new circumstances, her new life, her new mates, etc. before she opened up to her longtime best friend. Then we built up to the planning of the wedding....and then I really got pissed off! I mean, really?! We act like we could care less if our best friend comes to the wedding or not, we don't have her as a matron of honor (instead choosing to let someone she just met do it)! She seemed to want to lump Cadence in with everyone who 'did her wrong' from her previous Pack! Not only did Cadence stand up for her her whole LIFE, but in the beginning of this book she refused to punish Callie along with the rest of the females in the Pack, which led to her being forced to submit to her husband in public (an Alpha werewolf thing)! And sure, Cadence had a scene where she made a comment about how Callie was supposed to be miserable by now so she would come back to the Pack - but it was NOT done with malicious intent....she was simply missing her best friend! I was tempted to stop reading it right there, but I continued in the hopes that they would reconcile - and expecting it in fact! Didn't happen. In fact, I was sooo mad at the end, where Callie has the nerve to refer to Cades as being 'like a sister' - even though she just threw their friendship down the crapper! I understand people changing, but when you have a die-hard friend like that, you shouldn't dump the whole relationship because you got married! And the twins were WAY to eager for her to write it off - to have her cut ties with everything and everyone in her previous life. I was so mad I could scream!! What a 'B' of a friend!! Cades is better off without her, the ungrateful little pup!! Tempted to not read anymore of the series after this!!

I would have given this 3 stars like the first two if Callie wasn't turned into someone I wanted to punch every 5 seconds.Doesn't apprecite anything, doesn't give benefit of doubt and forgets about her best friend who was always there for her and always protected her. Moving away shouldn't equal bi***.

Oh no where to start with this book :( (SPOILERS)
I enjoyed the 1st 30% of the book especially with the 2 hot sexy mountain lions as Callie's mates :)
I was waiting for Callie to actually get her backbone and kick some lioness's ass but it ended up AGAIN with her tail between her legs and running for the hills!!!
For as much as her Mate's loved her I didn't feel the trio's chemistry and always felt it was a bit strained for the brothers having to share, I remember one of them thinking that he can't watch his brother and Callie joining, so he choose's to just watch her face as he loves seeing her pleasure instead????? (he's jelous and not comfortable with the situation to me)
Then to top it off I couldn't believe after all Cade's had done for Callie throughout all their lives, she could just disregard her from her life like throwing out the trash, she wouldn't even phone her, tell her about the babies, include her in her wedding etc, She was just awful really didn't like her character at all, no wonder Cade's reacted as she did.
Also in the book it was said that Jason made Cadence submit down to him infront of the whole pack, found that shocking of him and disrespectful to her, it's sounding like he is putting pack before his mate again, the book made the wolf pack out to be unfeeling and nasty.....really contradicting from the last 2 books I read! Here's hoping the next one is beter.

I like this series but this book was very different to me. In this book i feel that Callie turned her back on the one person that was there for her. That is what turned me off to this book. It took me a while to read it and think about my review. Throughout the series her best friend was there to protect her even at the expense of her marriage and Callie walked away without a second look. I am sorry but who does that?

I'm conflicted on this book. I liked it overall but I didn't think the transition of Callie uber fighting the relationship with Ethan and Eryx to becoming miss perfect mate was very smooth or believable. One minute she was fighting tooth and nail then the next minute she's in 100%. I also didn't feel the 3 of them had a very smoothly working relationship. I guess in a real life situation it would take some adjusting and time to figure out how things should work but it felt uncertain in this book. I also didn't understand why Callie was keeping Cadence away. I get that she hated her pack life but Cadence was nothing but good to her all their life. Maybe if Callie had spent more time talking to Cadence on the phone she would have had a better understanding of what Callie was experiencing in her new life and wouldn't have made such a scene at the end. And the author sure made Jason and Cadence out to be jerks in this book. I'm not sure why when she isn't done writing about this pack. Anyway... I will continue reading this series when book 4 is released.

I feel the same way as most other readers... It was a good book but it was weird how it turned pro cats and bad wolves. We started loving the wolves in book 1 and 2 and in book 3 now wolves are bad?! Idk where book 4 will go, back to the wolf pack but will it be positive and will we love pack life again?? Also how she just severed all ties with pack, hating them really...so not what I thought would happen.

Oh and the twin loving was written really well, didn't come off as feeling weird... Which I worried about before reading it.

Ok so it was a good book. i liked #2 better. their were a few things i couldnt stand about this book...

1) i thought i would never say this but i think there could have been (just a little)less sex and more plot involving the the female lions. i would have loved to see Callie kick some butt.

2) Callie was so annoying when it can to Cadence after she left. i mean Cadence was her best friend and always stood up for her, no matter how mad you are at Jason you just dont drop your BF like that because you are getting some from the twins.

3) ok so i get why Cadence was Jealous and upset with the whole situtaion with Callie, but come on act like an adult and sit down with your BF and talk it out, don't just blurt stuff out with no tact.

4) Ethan and Eryx could lay off the possessiveness for a bit when it comes to Cadence and Callie i mean its not like shes a male or anything shes a female that was Callies BF (no need to growl when they hug, geez!)

I could not wait to read this book. Had to have it on the very first day of release. I did love it. However I was a bit disappointed with the uncharacteristic rift in Cadence & Callies friendship. Not enough to spoil the book for me. But WTF.... aren't lifelong BFF's supposed to be happy for each other when one finds happiness? It was almost like they were jealous at each others new found bliss. Oh well, like I said, nothing could ruin this book for me. I'm a die hard fan. Who could be terribly disappointed with not one but two hunky alpha males? Not me! Thanks for the great story, R.E., I can't wait for the next one.

Wow this book was hot! Lots of steamy scenes! I really enjoyed this book. The story line was good and all your favorite characters in the series come back and you meet new ones you fall in love with. I was looking forward to Callie's story and this did not disappoint. I can't wait for Michael'a book next!

The amount of books I own but don't remember purchasing is getting out of hand, lol. This was sweet even with the MFM (R.E. Butler's sex scenes are lather, rinse, repeat so skipping past them to get back to the story is easy). Eryx and Ethan were more Beta than anticipated and Callie was practically an omega.

For erotica, there is a surprising amount of story here and it was interesting. The Mountain Lion society is basically the opposite of the human society. Women treat men like Real Dolls and men deal because they want children. The twins want family and Callow wants to belong somewhere.

She is very reluctant to love at first but it doesn't last very long. The women of the Pride are awful to her (we later find out they were even worse to the twins). How they become a triad and what that means to the people they love is explored in a slightly angsty way.

A warning for anyone who read book 1... if you want to believe in that couple's HEA, SKIP THIS BOOK! Cadence and Jason have quite a fall from happy.

I been waiting to hear Callie's story since the first book. However, I was kind of disappointed with this one. I really liked this series but this book was just ok with me. It's about Callie, a low-rank wolf, who decides to leave her pack and go rogue. She decides to travel up north to find a place where she can find a new home. On her travels, Callie is in a car accident and is saved by two were-lions, Eryx and Ethan. Eryx and Ethan discover that Callie is both of their mates and must protect her from the female lions in their pride. I was not a fan of Callie having two mates. I prefer only one alpha male where he is so protective over her that he doesn't want anyone else touching her. I did not like the sharing of Callie between Eryx and Ethan. I also highly doubt that two alpha males would not feel an ounce of jealousy towards the other one. I mean most alpha males are jealous of any one else touching his mate but these two were just ok with it. It just seemed unreal to me. I also didn't like the development of Callie and Cadence's relationship. After all Cadence did to help her and side with her, Callie just seems to drop her in Cadence's time of need. I felt bad for Cadence because she lost her best friend and Callie didn't seem to care. Callie was just ok with not being her friend anymore and I just didn't like it. Granted Cadence shouldn't have said what she said but she was just frustrated. I mean after all she did for Callie, who wouldn't feel the same way? Cadence just wanted her best friend back. I don't know, I was just not happy with the book as I was with the first two books. This book kind of made me dislike Callie because she was just selfish. However, I did like how Eryx and Ethan treated Callie. They were so caring towards her and it was very sweet. But, in general this book was just average.

Not gonna lie, I hated this book. I started this series on the recommendation of a friend, and thought that I would push through even though I didn't love the first two. Not everything has to be a five star book right?!

Nope, should have trusted my instincts on this one.

Callie is a bitch!

Her whole life, she has hidden behind her best friend Cadence. I understand that "Cades" is an alpha and Callie is extremely submissive, and unconfident, but she is still her "best friend". Cadence was willing to fight with her Alpha and husband over Callie, but as soon as Callie leaves town she turns on back on the one person who has been her true friend and supporter all these years.

Callie forgets to invite Cadence and anyone else from the wolf pack she grew up in to her wedding, even though she has only been gone for a few weeks. When they invite themselves and travel across the country to attend, things go so badly that the Pack leaves without attending the wedding and their friendship ends.

I also hated that the author has Cadence question her relationship with her mate Jason in this book. They were the hero/ine of the first novel. It is super weird to start tearing their relationship apart in the third book of a romance series.

The author finishes off the book by suggesting that we outgrow our friends and that this is the natural order of things. She is right that this can happen, except that isn't the case in this instance and to suggest otherwise is insulting. I truly feel like Cadence is better off without Callie and her cats in her life. I won't be returning to this series either.

This author has a weird writing style.

I was reading this on my kindle and at 70-75% of the story... it was all done, the rest was like an over extended epilogue... a very, veeeery long one.

Callie got semi-kicked out of the pack and found 2 were mountain lions twins who, suprise surprise, were both her mates.
The first half was pretty good, up until the 3 of them left the little town... wtf?!, I wanted Callie to confront the lionesses and kick their asses, they just tucked their tails between their legs and fled.
All of the giant, scary mountain lions are pussy wipped (literally), I don't know what is it with this author making her males all soft and prone to waterworks, someone should tell her that there's a fine line there that shouldn't be crossed because she leaves that line so far behind, it can't even be seen.

I did not get what happen with Cadence, I don't think it was necessary at all.
I would've liked the pack to help her kick the lionesses asses when they showed up to crash the wedding... alas, nothing of the sort happened.

This book left me frustrated, sad and pretty much done with this... the 3 book trial for a new series is up and done and I'm not impressed, at least not in a good way.

I had a little love/hate relationship with this book. I liked Callie in previous books but wasn't always thrilled with her here. I prefer a gal with serious sass and attitude. Callie had too much angst for my liking. She had a few great moments but they were scattered.

Ethan and Eryx were an interesting pair. Very loving and nurturing while at the same time possessive and dominant. A very interesting mix of contrasts.

The whole female lion side story was interesting and added the right amount of conflict but was anticlimactic in the end. I kept expecting more, at the very least a big confrontation. Nada.

I was also disappointed to see a rather unpleasant turn for a character I had really liked. It was not what I expected and I can't say I enjoyed that section.

On the plus side it is a yummy ménage and I alway love those. Loads of steamy action but it is all tag team. Sorry kinksters no DP here. Still lots of hot and heavy to make ya grab a cold shower.

Great storytelling and an interesting addition to the series. I just wish the last quarter of the book had gone differently.

None of my objections will stop me from jumping head first into the next book! I am most definitely hooked!

This one was way hotter than the other books by far. Callie really did well for herself buy leaving and wanting to strike out on her own. The whole thing with Eryx and Ethan was a bit weird though. Maybe it would've been a bit different if they were friends or something but it was just weird. Kind of sad to see the extreme of the coin in the habits of men and women. I actually found it really sad but on the same note it was like some men are like that for real.

I kind of figured something was going to go wrong with the pack visit but I thought it would come from Jason if anything. Can't wait to read what he was feeling after what happened, seemed like he was upset and not at Callie. Maybe she was seeing what she didn't have and her frustration was just aimed at the wrong person and Jason knew it. Either way I'll be reading the next one to see just what happened on that trip back to Allen.

Timid Callie has finally broken free from Pack rule, just in time to become a member of a Pride. She's a wolf though. Ethan and Eryx are lions starved for affection and mate and they both find her in Callie. No one likes the idea. Neither Pack or Pride.
I thought that with the whole menagerie thing, this would be super sexy. But, I paid more attention to why Callie was so submissive and annoying. Some very interesting things happen in book 3.
Now on to Michael in book 4.

I did not care for this book. I hate the way that the wolf pack was portrayed, especially Cade and Jason. Quite frankly I was really turned off of the whole series. After all the things Cade and Callie went through, Callie walked away from her with out much care. Sad really. I wish I had skipped this book. I hope the next one will paint the original characters in a better light, after all, they were the reason I read book 2 and unfortunately book 3.

I haven't read the other books in the series, but I think this book works as a standalone. The set-up is that mountain lion shifters have cold females who don't want a relationship and aren't maternal, but the males are affectionate and caring. They want a proper mate but the female lions only want sex and are willing to bear cubs but refuse to take care of the cubs.

So this an is interesting set-up; it's different from the norm. Then Callie is thrown into the mix. Callie is a wolf shifter. One of the reasons for giving this book three stars is that Callie left her pack supposedly to "discover herself" and to learn to be independent, because she felt that she had been too dependent on her best friend to protect her and fight her battles. However, after some token resistance to Ethan and Eryx, she conveniently forgets all that, and it is never again alluded to in the rest of the story -- all 16 remaining chapters of it. Heck, the guys don't want her to go out to work and she gives a token pushback but very quickly backs down. So much for standing up for herself or learning to be responsible for herself.

Another reason for the three stars was the behaviour of the lionesses. The females get territorial and possessive, not wanting a wolf to mate with lions. Even though they themselves don't want Ethan and Eryx, they also don't want a wolf in the midst of their pride. The problem is, instead of attacking her like a lion would -- stalking their prey for weaknesses, then pouncing at the right moment -- what they actually do is underhanded, sly, and passive-aggressive. It didn't seem at all in character for a lion.

Plus, their behaviour was more harassing and bullying than anything else. Like laying animal traps on Ethan and Eryx's land -- firstly, the traps could have harmed the guys, not just Callie. And secondly, it was just so indirect, depending on chance for someone to come upon the trap and set it off. Not only that, even after Ethan and Eryx decide to leave the area with Callie, the harassment continues. What were the lionesses trying to achieve? At first, they were trying to frighten Callie and run her off. But after that? What would burning the cars in the garage help to achieve? Your guess is as good as mine.

A third reason for the three stars is that this book is sooooooooo slow. There is so much everyday filler stuff which is unnecessary and adds nothing to the story. Can you imagine, Callie accepts the guys in chapter 9, but the story drags on till chapter 25! The harassment of the lionesses was not enough to prop up the story, especially as the incidents were spaced out and did not escalate, so there was no continuing build up of dramatic tension. The author did a poor job of balancing all the various conflicts -- Callie vs. her best friend whom she'd left behind after leaving the pack, Callie the wolf vs. the two male mountain lions who believe she is their mate, Callie and her desire to discover who she is and stand on her own feet, Callie vs. the lionesses who want her to leave the pride and leave the male lions alone.

The guys are good guys but the author laid it on too thick that they are in tune with their emotions, nurturing, affectionate, caring, etc., etc. They seemed too good to be true, and also seemed a bit pathetic in their longing to be loved and their need for a female's affection. Felt more like puppy dogs than mountain lions, to be honest. The way they were so helpless in the face of the female mountain lions made them look weak.

As for Callie, I understood that she didn't want to talk to her best friend because she was afraid of being too dependent on her best friend and of leaning on her too much. Her best friend was also kinda needy and clingy. But then weeks and weeks go by and she doesn't even text her friend? Really? To the point that she's getting married and she doesn't remember to invite her so-called best friend, the friend who has always been with her since they were young?

I thought Callie's character was not written very well, especially the sudden 180-degree change from being angry and refusing to have anything to do with the guys to suddenly caving and telling them her entire life story. Also, what kind of wolf goes into heat and doesn't even recognise it? You want me to believe that she didn't know she was in heat? Is she dumb or what???

I don't think I'll be reading anything else by this author.

It was hard for me to decide 3 star or 4 star for this book, but I realize that I had to 4 star it, and I'll explain why.

First and foremost this book is not bad, there is just a couple of things that really bothers me towards the middle to end. Among those thing that makes me extremely mad is the main character herself. But I'll go into that later, first let's start with the good.

Give me a Ethan and Eryx any time of the day. Talk about two sexy as heck twins. They are dedicated to Callie, and will bend over backwards for her. They are protective and want her to do what she thinks best, and they ALWAYS look out for her best interest. I mean who wouldn't want a set of twins, like that.

But they're are not the only reason why this book is amazing. Callie finally stands up for herself. She is becoming her own person and I couldn't be prouder or happier for her. She's finally getting what she deserve and I love that. She's not letting anyone run her. She has become one strong and bomb butt female ( you know what I really mean but cannot swear on here). It was her environment that did not allow her true self to come out. So I'm excited about this. And if you read the past books you will understand how important this is.

But with that being said, she's also became like one of those friends, that does a 360 on you.

Now here comes the bad that made me question the star rate.
I'm not going to go into it all the way. But let's just say that Callie becomes one of those friends that makes you question what in the H-E- double L-L happen to her.
And lets also say that she change and started treating that one friend like she wasn't her best friend and like she wasn't there for her to begin with.
The decisions she makes not only catches reader attention. But it may change your opinion about her. Unless your okay with what she decides to do. But if you like me, your eye brows are going to go sky high.

Now I know this probably got you beyond curious. But you have to read the books to know what she did and what happens. Now I do want to say that a part of me can understand what she did, but I don't agree with her decisions at all. And feel that at one point she thinks she better then her old pack mates. And in doing this made me dislike her as a person, and would rather not hear anything about her anymore.

But other than the choices she makes that makes me question her in general, I really enjoy this book and how far she came. And I know if you read this book you will enjoy it as well. Do not let this small set back that you are reading from stopping you from reading a funny but yummy book. Read this book and find out for yourself of how you feel about Callie and her new development. You might be surprise and have a different opinion about it.

I'm really conflicted on this addition to the series. Callie had it pretty rough in her pack being a lower ranking member and her best friend Cadence always stood up for her, so with her leaving the pack I was hoping she would be able to stand on her own two feet a bit better but she really wasn't that likable at all.
She basically dumped her best friend and didn't want anything to do with her after they had been so close for years and Cadence was her biggest protector. Then gets all offended when Cadences misses her and wants to be part of her wedding/life. I feel she treats her terribly, of course Cadences behaviour cant be excused either but it understandable.
But I think the thing that confused me the most was how the other member's of her pack, especially Jason and Cadence (Book 1) were portrayed as villain's and that the whole pack life as not something anyone would want to be a part of. Now I'm pretty sure there are more books in the series (only finding this author recently myself so series well established) but how am I supposed to want to read about them when they are portrayed as horrible people who are jealous and dominate to everyone else, oh and also the possibility of rape by male wolves as they are so aggressive when a female goes into heat, ugh????
The really only redeeming characters in this book are her mates, Ethan and Eryx, and well all the male mountain lions really, they are all such caring sweethearts who have it pretty tough with the females of their pride.
This book had way to many sex scenes for me, like OTT to many, how she managed to walk around and do anything else surprises the hell out of me. I mean walk in the kitchen, bam sex, on the lounge, bam sex, one of her mates leaves the room, bam sex with the other one, on and on!!!!
Thinking I might have a break from the series for a bit and pick it up at a later date. Overall a bit on the confusing side and not one I would want to revisit!

Where should I start....
I am not a writer, so my hat is off to anyone who attempts to write. SO thank you to the author, but this book was so annoying. Characters, plot etc annoying.
Started with the first book in the series, because I love a good paranormal wolf romance. First two books were okay at best, but I was allowing the writer to character build and have develop plots, etc. so I kept reading. Made it to book #3 - Callie and the Cats--
We have Callie, a low ranking wolf pulling up roots and striking out on her own, falling into the laps of 2 Cats. Callie irks me so much. She is a poor excuse for a friend. Cadence had defended her when they were younger - preventing her from being attacked and later defended her within the pack resulting in fights with her mate and instability within the pack; For Callie to just dropped their friendship - no regular calls, no wedding invitations, etc. inexcusable. Cadence was understandably hurt and said somethings that were unkind, but were they unforgivable?

Now onto the 2 Guys, Ethan and Eryx - twins that were looking for a mate. The point of view changed constantly. I did not know which guy was speaking most of the time. Not that it mattered, it was pretty much all the same dribble, " I love her so much because we met 15 seconds ago, how can she possibly understand that we both are her mates" on and on and on. The twins were jealous of the younger boys spending time with her, but not one of them spending more time with her - come on, not likely.
And finally she is having endless unprotected sex and hasn't once thought, perhaps birth control this month. Okay one more point, you know what - never mind - this was a desperation read. Awaiting better content.
Please Phoenix PACK rise again!!!

Cadence is jealous of Callie because Callie has two very much loving men that show their love for her in front of others and not afraid of it. Jason doesn’t give Cade the love like that, don’t look at her with affection in front of the pack only when he wants sex. He also don’t care about her cravings, her morning sickness and don’t help her fell good about herself or support her with her before or during her pregnancy. I would be also jealous of Callie if I had a friend flaunt that her men or men give her what I would kill for if I had a broody guy like Jason. Plus for two women that grow up together, bff and sisters you would think Callie would try to extend the friendship or make amends with Cade behind Jason back and still kept that connection intact? The twins kept Callie ‘busy’ nonstop with them or when the lionesses were trying to have Callie killed or raped but to have a familiar voice to vent and exchanged problems with, Callie completely forgets her ‘sister’. Too the point of honoring old promises they always told to each other like Callie would be Cade’s bridesmaid and Cade would be Callie’s when she to be married and then forgetting when you have someone better as a friend and to rub it into Cadence face that Callie has someone She recently made friends with. Hurtful! Cadence does have one problem that she can’t understand, it’s the age old feud, Cats and Dogs don’t mix.

There are several wrong things about this story:

1. The redundancy: I understand the author needed a certain amount of words to make it seems like a book, but there is really no need of all the extra fluff, like the description of Callie when she went to the Spa.

2. Jason, the alpha from the first book, is depicted as an asshole, and Cadence as a petty jealous woman. I Already thought Cade was a petty woman, but I wasn’t expecting her to get that bad!

3. Even if you move away, it doesn’t means you have to abandon your best friend; the only person that always had your back, that got in trouble with her mate for playing favoritism (In your favor!!!), and that literally saved your life when she saved you from being raped!

4. Ok, 2 lionesses died at the end, but the men in this story are a bunch of pussies!

5. The care shown by the twins is just so much that is totally unbelievable!

I think this was the worse story of this series....yet!
