Ava The minute we walked through the gates of Blackheath Academy I knew we weren’t welcome. It was us against them. The Club Brats against the Elite. Bastian de Trafford was their ringleader, but I wasn’t about to go down without a fight. Only - that fight would be so much easier if he didn’t look like a god of old. It was a good thing he made no attempt to be anything but a b*stard - it made hating him that much easier. Bastian The de Trafford family name came with many privileges - blind obedience was simply one of them, only Ava Aston didn’t want to obey. She was difficult, complicated, and utterly goddamn delectable. I would enjoy watching her bruise her knees solely for my pleasure. Bringing her to heel was the most delicious torture, but I wasn’t one to do anything in half measures - I was aiming to ruin her.
Just when i don't think Leslie Luckie can blow my mind anymore, she goes and comes out with this!
Ava, Spyro's daughter from the Hell Hounds MC series, is attending an academy for the elite, well summer finishing school. She's exactly as I pictured her and more.
Bastian, a rich heir alphahole who has definitely met his match with Ava
This story will make you laugh and scream! Its fantastic, and brilliantly written and I'm hyped for Bastians book.
**I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review**
I want to preface this by saying that just because I didn't like this book doesn't mean that it's bad. I can definitely see where the demographic is, but it missed the mark for me. Due to the nature of the launch being a big ~mystery~ I really had no idea what I was getting into.
My biggest issue was the portrayal of women. Outside of our FMC, the majority of the women in this book are dick-hungry zombies with no personality outside of bullying the FMC because the dick they want, wants her. Of course, the FMC is so unlike other girls that he just can't help but be obsessed with her. Don't get me wrong, I'm aware that mean girls exist in real life & I LOVE when the love interest is obsessive...but I felt like there could have been a more well-rounded representation. I'm a girls' girl so I'm always gonna have my panties in a bunch over this type of thing.
Bully romance is easily my favorite trope, and I just didn't enjoy it in this book. I'm not going to spoil anything, but it felt very childish on both sides and I'm more interested in DARK bullying.
There was definitely tension & spice. I was rooting for them for a little while, but for me the build up never came to a proper climax...it was just tension and then....well, it happened. And that was that.
Ava definitely brings the spice. I found a lot of the narrative pretty cringy during the spicy scenes, but overall it was well-written and there was plenty of it to satisfy readers that are looking for that sort of thing.
Overall, like I said, it just wasn't for me. The writing itself is solid, the plot was interesting enough, and I thought the marketing for the book was really cool. I hope other readers have a better experience!
Thank you so so much to the author for sharing an ARC copy of this book with me!!!
Mind you this is a very dark romance so you could find triggering themes, such as: bullying, knïves play, r0ugh sêx, drügs, 0vêrdôse, błäckmáïl, hümilïáti0n, gr0ûp sëx
“I was an Aston. Not the kind of Aston that drove a Bentley, smoked cigars, and hailed from a line of prudish money makers. No, I was the Aston that belonged to the Vice President of the Hell Hounds Motorcycle Club, and that meant that I knew how to handle my shit without paying someone else to do it.”
Ava is the first book in the BlackHeath Academy series where we are all going to meet the descendants of the Motorcycle Club in the Hell Hounds series. First we get to meet Ava( Spyro, Paige and Nicci’s daughter) and Bastian, the only heir of De Trafford family, a very elite and powerful family. The BlackHeath Academy teaches mannerism and a bunch of the hell hounds kids, Ava included, were sent there. Ava especially really wants to fit in, especially for her mother (Paige again is such a sweetheart). It melt my heart being able to meet those three characters again, considering how much I did love their story. And every time a small piece of Ava that looked like a peculiar trait from one of them, emerged I felt chills!!!! But right here, right now Ava and Bastian’s story is one to rival all the others !!! Bully romance, a tension that is incessantly high and a very unique Library where the Èlite guys do not read books. Ava will be exactly what Bastian wants to submit and Bastian will be exactly what Ava needs to prove to herself. The freedom and hate and unhinged scenes between them were like fire and there was not one moment of reprieve. I felt constantly on edge and I would have had it, any other way !!!!! Watch out for a very very very hot Library Scene and some many more moments afterwards!!!! I enjoyed this book so so very much !!!! I can’t wait for the next one !!!!
“Growing up in the Hell Hounds had strengthened my character in a way that few in this room could understand.”
“Snitches get stitches. Remember that.”
“Anyone but me touches Aston, and you’ll find yourself without a goddamn hand.”
“You going to bruise your knees for my pleasure, angel?”
“She wasn’t an angel, she was a fucking succubus, and I was only too happy to part with my soul.”
I really enjoyed this enemies to lovers tale, it was definitely true enemies to lovers and then turned into insta love which I don’t always love but Leslie writes her characters so well it all was executed so good!
Ava and Bastian were something else, I found myself rooting for them! This is romance meets Son’s of Anarchy meets Gossip Girl!! I love the drama, the angst and the smut. I wish it was shorter but I know it’s the first book in a series so it needs some story building.
It definitely left me wanting more and I can’t wait to keep reading the other books and continue the story.
This book made my enemies to lovers loving heart so damn happy.
Ava is a biker brat who is sent to an academy for the summer on the Alicante coast. There, she meets Bastian De Trafford. Bastian makes it his mission to ruin Ava, but Ava isn't the sort of person to back down from and fight and gives as good as she gets and so we get an amazing story with twists and turns and all the bully romance vibes you could ever want.
Ava and Bastian are absolute fire... the chemistry between the two is electric, and when they finally give in tonthe sexual tension and attraction, they've both been feeling since the beginning the results are 🔥🥵
This book was so captivating. The writing was superb, and I was hooked from the first page and couldn't put the book down and read it in one day.
The side characters were all so interesting and brought so much to the story, and I can't wait for some of them to get their own books.
This was my 1st time reading a book by Leslie Luckie && I can say that it was pretty good. I liked how the elites and the MC kids were together in a school.. it made it interesting to see the fast acting tough kids against the "I'll blackmail you & hit where it hurts" type of kids.
I went into this book, not knowing what to expect. I couldn't remember who all of the kids belonged to, but the author quickly annotates who's who. This book is about Ava. Ava, Spyro's, Nicci and Paige's daughter from the Hell Hounds MC series, is attending a 3-month summer finishing school and while the Elite normally run this program, this summer - they are in for a treat!
Ava and Bastian de Trafford are full of sexu@l tension and hateful, longing looks that immediately grabs your interest right away. Bastian is fully prepared to break Ava this summer since all she knows is how to be a biker slut, right? When Ava quickly puts him and many others in their place, the war continues. They aren't used to women with thick skin, who can handle their own and wont sit by and take what is given.
"You going to bruise your knees for my pleasure, angel?"
This only peaks Bastians interest more and soon, his bad boy, player persona has eyes only for Ava! When she plays Bastian at his own game of debauchery in "The Library Program," he knows he has met his match. One taste is not enough and weather she wants it or not, Bastian decides Ava belongs to him.
"You are mine. We are together. And there is no going back."
Even though this is a bully romance - the actual bullying wasn't too bad. The characters immediately had this spark and it captured your attention until you were just flipping the pages, needing to know what happened next. When Ava and Bastian finally got together, it was fireworks and I absolutely loved it! Bastian was all hard shell, alpha, and the moment he realized he wanted more with Ava, he was a puddle of mush, willing to do all of her bidding.
I am excited to read more on this couple and see the ending. I loved them together and want the best HEA. lol. I also am looking forward to the more of the future generation series.
"She wasn't an angel, she was a f'ing succubus, and I was only too happy to part with my soul."
*Overall 5/5 *Heat? 4/5 *Med Burn (with main characters) *Multiple first person POV *MF Romance *Ends on HFN with promises of a continuation for unfinished business
“I gave you your space - gave you time - I even enjoyed your little displays of defiance. But this ends now. You are going to take me, and you’re going to like it.”
Believe the hype on this gem! What a great introduction to this second-generation MC series. The heirs of the Hell Hounds MC Club have been sent to a finishing school to polish up their etiquette as the club turns towards more legal pursuits, giving them the option of life outside the club. Club brats and the uber-elite do not blend well, but the shenanigans wrought when the MC heirs step on campus are worth the pain they go through.
I love absolutely Ava. She has a take-no-shit attitude that I am 100% behind. Ava is the daughter of Spyro, Paige, and Nicci – raised to be tough and still have the poise of a lady (a little bit from both mothers). Sending her to a finishing school might not be the best decision, as you can see her chaffing at the rules and expectations of the elite class, but she stands her ground when bad boy Bastian makes it his goal to break her. When he thinks he has won, he realizes he's been played, and she’s always had the upper hand.
Bastian… That boy is hot, but damn, does he have some serious control issues. Maybe it is that I love Ava so much, but Bastian has some growing to do to show me he is worthy of her and is not just some fuckboy who will leave the second things get complicated. The things he does in the name of getting her under his thumb or getting back at her for perceived slights… it takes a little more than a big dick and hot sex to return from. Good thing there is a second part of their story to convince me that Ava shouldn’t just find someone better (though I would miss their incredibly intense chemistry and sex scenes, so maybe I will give him some grace).
I love Ava’s sex positivity. Paige has raised her right, teaching her to own her sexual needs and not feel shame about claiming what she wants. I already mentioned it, but it bears repeating, the sexual chemistry between Ava and Bastian is intense. Even when they were antagonizing each other, there was that magnetic pull. It made for some hot, hot (and abundant) sex.
Book one ends at a cliffy. I cannot wait for the end of their story. Hopefully, with Bastian’s completed redemption arc, Ava letting her claws out and doing some serious damage (no more holding that rage in!), and some gilded princesses being knocked down a few pegs. I also have a list of people I would love to see suffer, if not eradicated.
Genre: Contemporary Academy Romance Tropes/Features: academy, bully, MC, enemies to lovers, hate to love, group sex, betting on sex, knife and blood play, public sex and humiliation, blackmail, obsessive MMC, sex-positive FMC Narrator: Dual 1st Person POV Relationship Type: MF, med-fast burn, high heat Book Type/Ending: Book one in couple’s duet with cliffhanger ending TW/CW: Includes public sex and humiliation, drug use, overdose/death of side character, blackmail, kinks involving knife and blood play
Ava & Bastian are from two different worlds. Ava is a biker brat. Her father, Spyro, is a leader of the Hell Hounds Motorcycle Club. Bastian is the heir of the de Trafford legacy. When they meet, they clash on all accounts, and living in the same house at Blackhearth Academy makes it easy to try and destroy each other. Things take a turn when the Library Program picks up and all bets are on Angel Ava and whether she'll show & participate. Bastian has extreme feelings at the thought of anyone else seeing or touching her. How can he cause her submission to him?
It's spicy, the tension between them is palpable & I honestly couldn't stop reading. It had some dark-ish moments as well as a touch of tenderness. Will definitely be reading Bastians story next & the rest of Leslie Luckie's book catalog!
If you like enemies to lovers, this is the book for you I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It has a strong main female character. The spice level is great. The storyline is good. Can't wait to read the second part.
In true Hell Hounds fashion we have another intelligent, sarcastic, witty, loyal kick ass female main character…..let me introduce you to Ava Aston.
Money can buy anything and when the ‘biker bitch’ is enrolled in a finishing school for the elite classes she soon learns money doesn’t buy equality, brains or class.
Bastian De Trafford is the richest of the richest, an elitest prick really and you will spend the whole book either wanting to cut his 🍆 off with a butter knife or wanting him to go a few rounds with him in the bedroom. Does he have any redeeming qualities? At this stage the answer is no but I feel we will get to know him better in book two.
Now I must say the spice level is set to smutty so be prepared 🔥
This was a great start to the new series and I think I have already picked up on some upcoming ships for future books.
Uhm excuse me this was perfect. Blackheath Academy...where rich spoiled kids go between high school and college....I loved Avas character! she was strong but also vulnerable. Bastian...he took a bit to like but he was depraved enough for my liking. I loved the story and now need to know what's going to happen with his dad. I need answers and cannot wait to read more!!
Such a phenomenal read, I couldn’t put it down. From the very start when I read the Trigger Warning, ‘But if you’re like me and swim in the depths of dark romance, devouring that smut like Pringles, and read trigger warnings as if they’re a shopping list, then this is for you’ I was very excited to get stuck in. I have read the previous series about the ‘club brats’ parents, so I knew this would be good, but it honestly blew away all expectations. Ava is absolutely intriguing FMC, with her upbringing in the club, her father’s powerful/rich surname and 2 non bio moms - both of which gave their passions to Ava, thus making her the strong, determined and passionate person she is. Ava is at that point in life of just finishing high school having having to make choices of where her future will lie. Loved her inner monologue, how she balances what her father would do and both her mothers would do in situations. Then there’s the snotty rich kids, that have all their families money but no-one to love them or anyone that really cares about them, accept them upholding their family names. They mischievous stuff they have going is a real eye opener. Loved seeing how the Club brats settled into the Academy, with this book having Ava as the main focus, I would kill to read about the Grace, Olivia and Gunner’s adventures too. All those little hints here and there about them - teasing us… oh so mean! The sexual tension, sexual chemistry and steamy scenes were all so detailed and hot AF 🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵 the library scenes - wow! And his obsession and possessiveness was fire🔥 as was her payback. Loved every minute of this book, was totally mesmerised by the storyline. That ending really came out if left field - perfect! Can’t wait to read more of this series, heck I’m going to go and re-read this book again now. Can honestly state this book is definitely on my all time favourite book list.
Merged review:

This is a dark romance, so make sure to check the trigger warnings.
Ava and her friends all have family in a MC, so when they go to Blackheath Academy, they instantly clash with everyone. Blackheath Academy is basically for those who come from money; they're the Elite.
When Bastian de Trafford sets his sights on Ava, he is determined to break her, because he’s an arrogant a**hole. As it turns out, Ava is not so easily broken. No, she definitely puts up a fight and gives him a run for his money.
This was truly an enemies to lovers romance, with some bullying, but things didn’t really get that dark. It took me a while to warm up to Bastian. I mean, he was continuously trying to hurt Ava from day one, even though she had done nothing to him. There were moments when he seemed to be warming up to her, but it wasn’t until they finally slept together that he changed his attitude. He became pretty possessive over her.
I loved how Ava didn’t let anything break her. Every time Bastian did something cruel, she got back at him. She even played him and beat him at his own game; I mean, The Library Program, well, she took matters into her own hands there.
Now, there was a misunderstanding, which made Bastian do something awful. All because he misinterpreted. But I guess the way he acted was normal for him, so it was a bit true to character. I do wish he had groveled more, but I digress.
Anyway, this was the first book in the series, and I can’t wait to read more!
Note: There is drug use and an OD which leads to the death of a character.
Fun Fact: When I first got this ARC opportunity, I had no idea who the author was because the name was not revealed. The whole mysterious author aspect made it really exciting.
Rating this book is going to be difficult for me. I have to objective as to what I read based on what I thought this was going to be. So lets start off on what I read. I thought that the writing was fabulous. The story flowed nicely and great attention to details. I really like that the author describes a lot of things in great details. It gave you a nice picture to envision what she wanted you to see. The characters were great. I like that this was a story of kids that were in between high school and college. It wasn’t one or the other. I love Ava and how feisty she was and her take no crap attitude. She was strong and resilient. I enjoyed watching her handle Bastian. That was epic. Bastian grew on me as the story goes on. At first I hated him. I know it’s a bully romance but the audacity of him sometimes blew my mind. I enjoyed seeing him come around to the fact that Ava isn’t as bad as he thought. All in all this book was nothing like I thought it was going to be. When the book ended I did find myself trying to keep swiping for more.
Now lets talk about what I thought it was going to be. Based off the triggers I was going into this book thinking that it was going to be DARK. For me this book barely touched any darkness for myself. I was kind of disappointed that the book was not darker and longer. I was expecting more bullying, more humiliation, more everything honestly and maybe the 2nd book will have more of that. There are some unanswered questions from this book that will hopefully be answered in the 2nd book, and yes this book ends on a bit of a cliffhanger. Not a big one but enough of one.
Please keep in mind that my idea of dark and your idea of dark are going to be different. I would totally recommend this someone that is looking to read something with these triggers because the book was good. It just wasn’t for me. My personal feelings on how I thought the book was going to be vs what I thought it was does not play a part of my rating. My rating is only based off of what I read.
Ava: A Dark Bully College Romance by Leslie Luckie is book one in the Blackheath Academy Series. This is the first book I’ve read by this author but HOLY SMOKES it will not be the last. This book was so freaking good… I need a minute to re-collect myself! (😂😂 I can get through this) This is book one of a spin off series involving children of the original series He’ll Hound MC books. Ava is the daughter of Spyro. (Instantly going to have to go read about her father. ❤️❤️) Also this is a dark romance so as always…⚠️⚠️check your trigger warnings!⚠️⚠️ This was so well written, I found myself never wanting the book to end!!! I loved the world, plot and characters that Leslie Luckie to seemlessly wove together. It was fan-freaking-tastic!!! ⭐️⭐️
Ava is the daughter of Spyro from Hell Hound MC and she’s off to Blackreach Academy which is a finishing school in between the completion of high school and the beginning of college. She had a I’m strong and independent… I know how to handle myself so don’t give me any crap attitude. (I totally dug her! 😘) Then there’s Bastian… god he drove me freaking bonkers with my hate/love of him. He’s a jerk with a capital J when we first meet him. At points I couldn’t believe what I was reading…but did I ever come around to love him. (❤️🔥) I loved the feel of West side story vibes. Ava the Club Brats vs Bastian the Elites. Bastian the spoiled rich boy; I definitely enjoyed reading the change he felt towards Ava. It was so freaking good!!! I absolutely CANNOT wait for the next book. Ah!!! I highly recommend this book!!!
Final review: 5 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ava and Bastian 5 out of 5 motorcycles 🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️
"She wasn't an angel, she was a fucking succubus, and I was only too happy to part with my soul."
I loved this second generation of the hell hounds story that Leslie wrote. This takes place at a fancy school where Ava (Spyro, Nicci and Ava’s daughter) attends. I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about the academy and Bastian, but I loved them all so much.
Bastian is a well off asśhołe with all the confidence in the world. He first meets Ava and is intrigued. He wants to own her because he thinks he can get get to submit to him. The tension, banter and back and forth chemistry was so good in this book. I loved seeing them own up to their feelings and give into their desires. Bastian ended up being a great boyfriend and I really loved how he treated Ava. I loved how Ava was a badaśš even from the beginning and took no shït from him or anyone.
"Growing up in the Hell Hounds had strengthened my character in a way that few in this room could understand."
Their story played out beautifully. The smüt and the way he took care of her were my favorite! I’m excited for the next book in the series and to see where their story goes. I also want to hear more about the side characters as well!
"You going to bruise your knees for my pleasure, angel?"
Oh lawd!!! This book had me in a serious hold. 6 straight hours of reading because I couldn’t put it down! Ok. Let’s get into it….Ava is the daughter of the VP of a biker club so she’s raised in a non traditional way and on top of that she has polyamorous parents (which I LOVE so much) so she’s definitely used to seeing the world a little differently and understands that people view her world as different too. But her dad comes from money and so she (and her childhood besties who are more like siblings) all get a summer at Blackheath Academy, it’s basically a finishing school for rich kids. Immediately things are made hard for them by Bastian. Bastian is the resident bad boy who you are just going to love to hate. He and Ava have this hilarious war going on just to make each others lives more than difficult but when I tell you there’s smexual tension….ooooohweee! It’s so good too! Bastian has his own extra curricular activities at Blackheath and he’s trying his hardest to get rid of all the “biker brats” by sucking Ava into those extra curriculars. Push comes to shove and he’s hooked on ya girl!! It’s giving “touch her and die” and enemies to lovers!! But now that we love Bastian he starts assuming things and basically hurts his own feelings and pulls a really crappy stunt and we’re back to hating him!!! Until we don’t lol again lol and let’s not forget the sadness I honestly didn’t see coming. There’s definitely a touch of the feels at the end but it has a great message!! An important message!! Over all….10/10 highly recommend!!! Total must read and can’t wait for book 2!!
Completely speechless, blown away in all the best ways , sitting on the edge of my seat anticipating what was going to happen from one second to the next , feeling like my heart was being ripped right out of my chest then it’s so flawlessly out right back together again . Those are only a few things I felt from the moment I opened the very first page of Ava until the very last . I honestly cannot believe this was my very first time reading one of Leslie’s books . Where the heck have I been . From the moment I met Ava well to say I was intrigued Would definitely be a understatement. There were so many different layers to her character and the more I got to know her the more I wanted to know . Then we have Bastian - I seriously could not decide weather to love or hate him - he’s one of the biggest Alphaholes you’ll ever meet - but there’s so much more to him as well . I don’t want to give any details or spoilers away . But what I will say is that if you are a lover of dark bully romances that are centered around a elite finishing school , that has lots of angst, witty banter , heartfelt and heartbreaking moments, secrets , non stop action, tragedy, twists and turns, off the charts chemistry, suspense, intrigue, family , friendships, awesome world building and so much more . Look no further. In fact run as fast as you can and download AVA now . It’s so exceptional, it’s unforgettable and unputdownable and it’s without a doubt going to Keep you up reading well into the early Morning hours
The hold this book is going to have on me is insane. It was so good I don't see myself getting over it any time soon.
Ava and Bastian are so perfect for each other. They spent most of the book trying to one up each other. That was really fun to read about because it just shows how they are each others equal, they can give as well as they take. I was a little bit surprised with how they got together for the first time. But based on the story and just based on them alone it was kind of perfect. They had an insane amount of chemistry. Loved how even after they got together a didn't go away it just grew even more.
It's very clear to see how dedicated an obsessed and in love they are with each other. I definitely wanna read the next book because I'm not over them. I NEED MORE. But mainly because there's a lot of stuff that still needs to be dealt with, for example her mom and his dad. I feel like this is a sign of how good the author's writing is. Even though we know that they still have that problem to deal with At the end of this book it didn't feel like a plot hole. It was written in a way that it could have been the perfect ending but at the same time open enough to write another book.
Ava is a second generation of the Hell Hound MC, and daughter of Spyro of the first generation. 🏍 Bastian is an extremely wealthy young adult, brought up by his father's money. 💵 Both Ava, along with other MC "brats" attend Blackheath Academy, which is an in-between academy for young adults who graduated from high school, but haven't attended college yet. The point of Blackheath is to learn etiquette skills. Naturally, the MC kids are rare in the elite environment, and it's mostly rich kids, including Bastian.
Ava and Basitan are roommates at Blackheath (also having classes together) and have a deep dislike for each other.
Troupes: -Forced proximity -Bully romance
I haven't read any of the Hell Hound MC books, and found this book still easy to understand and follow. You definitely do not need to read the others to enjoy this one.
I really enjoyed this one! At times, I read with my jaw dropping open--angry with Basitan. (Won't describe to avoid spoilers ;) ). It gave me a wide range of emotions in such a tightly formed book. That's another thing: it's paced perfectly, and every single scene was significant and held my attention! I also found the side characters, i.e the other MC "brats" to be entertaining and dimensional.
I look forward to Bastian's book next, while hoping that Olivia gets a book soon, too! 💜 ✨ 5/5 stars✨
I received an ARC, which is a free review copy. This is my 100% voluntary and honest review.
This is my first book that I read from Leslie and I loved it! It made me mad, it made me laugh, it made me 🔥 and swoon and angry all at the same time.
The book is a spinoff of the original Hell Hounds MC series where it's all about the kids, starting with Ava, Spyro's daughter. Not having read the first series wasn't a problem though, I didn't feel like I was missing a bunch of background information. Everything that was needed was explained.
Blackheath Academy is a program where the rich kids go to be groomed to be the perfect people right before starting college. Everything is about names and figures and how much standing you have in the world of the rich and famous.
Bastian is one of those kids - or the kid, the one every girl wants and every guy wants to be friends with. And he knows and shows it in his behavior.
Ava is the kid from the MC who doesn't belong even in the near vicinity of the Academy, according to the rich kids, and so, and because she doesn't want to give in to Bastian, she must be shunned and shown where her place is(n't).
The story is a wild ride of emotions, with some quite steamy scenes and a shopping list of triggers, so please beware. If you like obsessive alpha MCs and strong, snarky FMCs you definitely should pick up this series!
Ava by Leslie Lucky is my first book by this author. I didn't have any preconceived notions as to the story. All I knew was it was a bully romance.
Having said that, I have to say that this book blew me away. I was hooked from the first few chapters all the way to the end. The story was intriguing.... It was exciting.... It was steamy... It was emotional... It was what a great bully romance is about.
Bastian is all kinds of hate and self serving. He was that typical rich boy that got what he wanted. It was a pleasure to see him succumb to Ava. I loved how he fell pretty hard for her.
Ava is all kinds of tough and didn't back down to a challenge. I love how she struggled internally and dealt with anxiety, but stood tall and stood her ground.
The story was easy to read and was entertaining through and through. I look forward to the continuation of the series.
I love second-generation books for well-loved series. The Blackheath Academy by Leslie Luckie was perfect to soothe the bitter-sweet end of her Hell Hounds series. She delivers again with a dark, twisted story and *beep*ing unreal!
Bastian is a prick. That’s all I can call him here if my review is to stay clean but let me tell you; this book will entice you with its delicious depravity. Bastian is not a hero. He is a product of the broken elite society with a drool-worthy face and an unbearable personality to match. In fact, Ava might be the best thing that happened to him. IRL, I wouldn’t want anything to do with the guy, but sometimes I couldn’t help but… you know what I mean.
Last I read about Ava, she was a six-month-old infant who finally got to the better parent. I loved seeing her grow up with both Paige's and Nicci’s traits. It suited her to perfection. She is unapologetic, indifferent to the hate directed towards her and confidence that can shake anything. But the best part was definitely when she lost that control. That part was delicious.
The end came quickly, but there are no cliffhangers- Thankfully, the story is still developing. I did not want it to end where it did when there were so many things that could have happened. Only the readers will understand my emotions on finishing the book and the sentence that flipped it 180 degrees.
This book was a happy and pleasant surprise to me. I never had heard of Leslie Luckie before i found Ava. Now I am going to have to go back and read all of Leslie’s backlist. I give this book 4.5 stars I found the bullying part of this bully romance to be more on the mild side but it is the exact amount that i wanted. Ava is a second generational character from Leslie Luckie. I do feel that I would have known about Leslie before I found this book becuase I feel that I would have liked more background on her parents. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO READ IT PRIOR TO THIS…IT JUST WOULD HAVE BEEN MY PREFERENCE. Ava has gone to Blackheath Academy, a finishing school, during her summer prior to going to college. Her father was a well known and from a very wealthy family prior to him leaving it all to be apart of a motorcycle club. When Ava mentions her last name, Bastian our MMC knows that he wants to destroy her. I found that I really liked Bastian obsession with her in the end. I love the possessive jealous type and he fits this to a tee. This book does have mention of drug abuse among some other possible triggers, so i recommend you look into it prior to reading this. But overall I am excited to see what happens next in Bastians book.
Wow, I don’t think I’ve read some of the things happening in this bully romance anywhere else. That was impressive and I loved it!
I give it a 4,5 stars, because I didn’t connect with Ava the way I wanted to, we are simply too different in how we deal, so, while she isn’t a badly written character by a long shot, cause honestly, I’m probably more hotheaded than that. I didn’t get my heart tugged on by her.
But, I’m absolutely in love with Bash and everything that man said or did had me feeling … things I shouldn’t. 🫠🥵
Spicy? It really spiced up in there!!! 🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵
Can’t wait for the second book, especially knowing it’s titled Bastian.. oh my god, I found a new book boyfriend to obsess about. 🤦🏼♀️😅 No regrets!
The mystery surrounding the series had me sign up instantly, I was hooked from their early on teasing! Excited to continue this journey because I need it!
These babies are joining my shelf, cuz I know a good thing when I see it. 🥹
Thank you for sending me an arc! I’m leaving an honest & voluntary review.
Ava Ashton has been raised by the Hell Hounds biker club. She knows her way around knives and definitely knows how to stand up for herself. So when she attends Blackheath Academy, a finishing school for rich people, she feels a little out if her comfort zone but ready to front her way through. Until Bastian de Trafford. The richest, most arrogant bastard there becomes her housemate, and he is determined to own her.
Their vicious back and forth is so enjoyable if you like bully romance, though I do think Bastian needs to come up with some other describing words for women. There is a supporting cast of friends that we only see superficially as we are clearly going to delve into their stories later, which I'm looking forward to.
The schmexy scenes were so good, definitely worth a re-read just for those 💦
So if you like contemporary rich people smut with a good bully romance plot, Ava and the Blackheath Academy series will be right up your alley!
