The Harmonica Competition

Rate this book
Members of The National Harmonica Association gather for their annual competition in North Wales. This year two strangers join the regulars, with some unexpected consequences.

The Harmonica Competition is a dual-format short story and play. It features a cast of colourful characters, Dorian, an investment banker with an obsession for expensive gold-plated instruments, extra-marital affairs and sports cars; Rod, the session blues-harpist whose libido gets him far more than he bargained for; Bernie, a tattooed ex-convict from Perry Barr and his friend, Jim, both of whom take a great interest in the security of the vehicles in the car park of the theatre where the competition is being held.

Overseeing proceedings is Ken, the beleaguered Chairman of the association and his over-zealous deputy, Geoff. A host of supporting cast members combine to create a story which will appeal to fans of dark farce and comedy twists.
