Jaxon was a very interesting MMC for me, especially since I felt for him with some of his issues as I have suffered from the same things more than once, so very realistic for me to be honest. Holly is a sweet sunshine type of girl, who he feels a pull towards, but feels like he's not good enough for her. She also feels a pull to him, but is afraid to get hurt. All bets are off when she finds herself in the middle of trouble, and now Jaxon will protect her at all costs, and maybe just maybe, they'll be able to have a future together if they can get through all the chaos. This story was fantastic with the suspense factor, the emotions that did my heart in, and the heat between these two human people who are perfect for each other. So yeah, I LOVED every minute of this story, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Just because I loved this group of friends. They're hilariously amazing. And ig I'll read Zayn's book if I stumble through it that seemed more up my alley.

This is the second book in the Protecting You, Finding Us series and these men are yummy! Jaxon just curled my toes! He knows all the right things to say, and even more, he means what he says! He’s sexy and protective and knows Holly is the brightness in his life. He’s not perfect and feels he may be too much for anyone to handle, and this makes him even more attractive and real to me.
Holly recently bought a new building in downtown Katoka Falls, GA, and is setting up her store Juneberry when strange things start to happen. Her brother who was going to open his shop in the same building has decided to travel the country with a new girlfriend and Holly must find another renter for the space. While she may be feeling abandoned, Jaxon and his friends are around making sure Holly knows they are there to protect her. Holly is worried that when she no longer needs protection, Jaxon will tire of her, and he will leave her with a broken heart. However, she doesn’t understand that Jaxon knows he’s found the one in Holly and he isn’t going anywhere. I’m happy she was able to see this early on and together they were able to help each other work on their past anxieties.
Ms. Johnson creates amazing characters that pulled me in from the beginning and kept me captivated throughout the story. I loved the quick flow and the great dialogue not only between Jaxon and Holly, but between Holly and Kalina (book 1, River), and Jaxon and his friends. I’ve fallen in love with these 4 men, and I’m really excited for the next story with Zayne and Ella. 5 stars for Jaxon and I recommend this series!!!

I have yet to read a book by this author where I don’t automatically swoon so hard and fall head over heels in love with her Heroes and Jaxon is perfection. Jaxon is this loyal and caring man that is a fierce protector and loves with all his heart, but what makes him perfect to me is his imperfections. Jaxon’s past has left him with severe anxiety issues that sometimes cripples he ability to not want to control everything. When he first met Holly, he knew she was someone special and his feelings immediately started to bloom, yet he held off for feeling undeserving and that no one would be able to handle his issues. Holly is an amazing and sweet character that is perfect for Jaxon because she is so patient and caring, but she knows he doesn’t do relationships and scared to be hurt she tries to stay away, but their chemistry has a too strong of a pull to ignore. As things heat up between these two, danger seems to come lurking and this ramps up Jaxon’s need to protect what’s his and that’s Holly. As they navigate this new relationship, and their feelings will Jaxon be able to maintain calm and be able to protect her or will the person creeping around end up destroying what they are building? This story has a lot of suspense to keep you on the edge and when Jaxon unleashes his protective side (total swoon), but his vulnerability makes him so real you want to wrap him up in hugs and never let go. I can’t wait for more from this group because they have created a family of themselves you just want to be a part of.

Jaxon and Holly
This was a quick, fast paced read. We met both Jaxon and Holly in the first book in this series, River, where their connection began. Jaxon and Holly both had their reasons for not pursuing each other, but the longer they tried to deny the pull towards each other, the stronger that connection got.
Jaxon struggles with anxiety after the death of his parents. He thinks it will be too much for anyone to deal with, especially someone as sweet at Holly. Holly worries that her dreams will never come true with Jaxon because her friend told her he would never be in a serious relationship. When they decide to get together, they do it in a very healthy way, I loved their communication and openness with each other.
I loved the glimpse into Jaxon’s anxiety and the feeling of inadequacy he had that Holly addressed with him. I loved that it didn’t change anything about how she saw Jaxon and she went out of her way to try to help him manage his panic.
There was a little suspense throughout the book, but it was pretty mild. Most of the book focused on Holly and Jaxon and their relationship. It was very low angst and Holly and Jaxon committed to each other pretty quickly. I loved the relationships between all four men and the women in their lives. The whole book was easy to read and full of heartfelt relationships.

Good romantic suspense
I enjoyed Jaxon and Holly’s story. This is a heartwarming and steamy romantic suspense with relatable characters and a touch of angst and mystery. Jacob is wealthy man who struggles with anxiety. Holly owns her owns business in small town Katoka Falls. They know each other because their best friends are engaged. There is strong chemistry and connection between them but they are both ignoring it for their own reasons. But fate and proximity slowly pushes them into a relationship. They are both a bit lonely with wounded souls that need healing but they must deal with their pasts because they continue to negatively impact their lives. This book has a little bit of everything you’d expect from romantic suspense - sweet moments, steamy scenes, slight danger, strong friendships, painful pasts, mystery, plot twists, uber protective men, real life issues, imperfect characters, and even some chuckles. The story was well written, the characters had some dimension, and the storyline was fairly engaging. This story was not my favorite from this author because the story and characters did not engage me as much as usual. It felt kind of meh. 3.5 stars. Chalking it up to an anomaly, I will keep reading the series.

Jaxon Judge may be rich but that’s not what makes him sexy as sin. It’s his protective streak a mile long and his heart of gold! So I wasn’t surprised when he fell for beautiful Holly with her infectious laugh that made his heart skip a beat. But then he saw her tears and then her fear and his anxiety went through the roof and all he wanted to do was keep her safe! I would risk all the danger in the world if it meant Jaxon’s alpha ways but loving self were going to be by my side forever! The caring way Jaxon surrounds his family and friends and how he will do anything for them so is endearing and sweet! Everyone should read this for the desk, the chess piece, the plants and the blue print alone. He also has the best friends in the world. Who wouldn’t want 4 gorgeous men of muscle around all the time at your beck and call watching your back who are also a hoot to spend time with. Jaxon is my new book boyfriend and has stolen the top spot as my favorite leading man Carrie has written so far!

This is my first read by CE Johnson and there is no going back now I will most definitely be reading more of her books. This book was absolutely phenomenal. It’s full of suspense, danger, action and just the right amount of steam!Complete with a possessively protective alpha male and a strong feisty FMC who needs his protection and him as much as he needs her.
Jaxon and Holly were absolutely perfectly written and matched in this book. The chemistry and attraction between these two is instant. Holly tries her best to avoid her feelings because she’s afraid that when she no longer needs protecting he will go away and break her heart. But Jaxon is there to show her and prove to her he’s not going anywhere.
This is book two in series but a complete standalone with a perfect HEA. Their story is a definite must read and I highly recommend it. Am looking forward to reading book one River and the rest of the books she writes for us in this series.

Oh, Jaxon. I REALLY like him. Once he gets around his fears and worries, he decides that Holly is definitely meant to be his. And luckily, Holly agrees, even if she’s afraid she’ll end up heartbroken. But these men seem to know how to hold on to the women they fall for, and they sure do know how to deal with any fallout from danger that befalls them. In this case, though, I was a little surprised by the danger and where it came from. Maybe that’s a good thing though, because this author threw out some excellent twists along the way to solving the mystery.
So now Jaxon and Holly have their love. And it’s a wonderful tale. No unnecessary drama, all the communication, and the heat is scorching. But I think Arlo also has a story to tell. I mean, I’m all in on what comes my way for Zayn and Ella, but I look forward to a few others also. I have a feeling they’ll be anything but boring.

Jaxon, has gone through a lot, but you would never know that he suffers from anxiety because he hides it so well. He denied his feelings for Holly, but when the line is 𝒻𝒾𝓃𝒶𝓁𝓁𝓎 crossed, 𝓈𝒽ℯ 𝒾𝓈 𝒽𝒾𝓈. And when crazy things start happening he will do everything to protect his woman.
Twists and turns you don't see coming hit you and leave you on the edge, with spicy moments and intense chemistry 🔥 this was one hell of a page turner.

Jaxon and Holly are two amazing characters. Each have their own internal struggles based on life. Neither let it define who they are. Holly and Jaxon deal with it in the moment and move on. The story doesn’t just keep repeating back to the “woe is me”. They understand and compliment each other well. The bond not only between the two of them, but also their circle of friends is just beautiful (and comical)!
C.E. Johnson does not disappoint when it comes to keeping readers guessing. When will the tragedy happen and who did it? She got me again with this one. I couldn’t guess who the villain was.
Thanks for another fantastic adventure in reading. I’m looking forward to Zayn’s story next!

CE Johnson writes some of my favorites books and series, she has quickly become one of my go-to authors when I know a book will check all my boxes. Big alpha, swoony heroes and sweet but sassy heroines, lots of sweet and sexy moments with some mystery and suspense thrown in. JAXON was no exception and I fell in love with this group of characters so much. I knew from the first book this group of guys were protective of their people, Jaxon being the biggest protector and we get to see why that is. Holly was such a sweet heroine, doing her best to keep her store afloat and being the shoulder that anyone can lean on. Jaxon saw beneath all that and offered her the comfort she needed to lean on someone else. I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to more of this group of friends!

This is the second book in this amazing series, and this is Holly and Jaxon’s story. Jaxon has a heart of gold, and he is loyal, caring, and fiercely protective of those he loves. Holly is fun, patient, and caring, and she is the perfect match for Jaxon, as they complement each other perfectly. This is a beautifully written story with engaging and relatable characters, family, friendships, twists, challenges, emotions, suspense, intrigue, romance, and love, which leads to an entertaining and compelling page turner.

C.E. Johnson has a talent for giving us strong and protective men in her books. Jaxon is no different. She also never fails to give us fairly strong independent heroines, which is Holly to a T.
These to had sparks flying, but denying the attraction from the moment they met in the first book of this series, River. When they both finally give in it is a beautiful thing.
This is a wonderful read full of swoony moments, and moments full of suspense. I can't wait to see what's in store for Zayn.

Jaxon & Holly are another fantastic couple! I love their story! Sweet, suspenseful, and just the right amount of steam.
My favorite thing about this story is the interaction between characters. Whether it's our main couple, friends, family, or side characters, I get lost in these interactions. Each has their own unique cadence, and it makes me feel invested in them and what they have to say, what they contribute.
Jaxon's anxiety is written so very well - as are Holly and their circle's reactions. I feel the love, the care, they have for each other. They're all protective of one another, and that makes me want to be a part of their circle!

Another gem
Love this series, and it's so refreshing to see a strong, confident man deal with anxiety and learning its okay whilst still being supportive and protective of the woman he loves. And Holly is such a sweetheart. The two together are just perfect. Great, sweet and hot read.

Holly and Jaxon
There are some dopey moments in this book, but the love story between Jaxon and Holly is genuine and develops beautifully. Love the group of friends — always there for anyone who needs them. The guys are tough and strong but have a weakness that makes you love them even more.

Wow, this really took me by a surprise! I absolutely loved Jaxon and Holly and their story. I'm fully engaged the whole time and these two have no problem keeping my attention. The side characters are also fun and entertaining to read too. I want more of this kind of story from CE Johnson.

Holly and Jaxon are so good together, I really liked this bbn ook, everything about it pulled me in and made me want to read more. I fell in love with both these characters for different reasons. Amazing read.

This was fast paced & I enjoyed most of the book. Some of it seemed a little OTT for me, but it all flowed together.

I loved Jaxon and Holly’s love story! C.E. Johnson has pulled me back in to this fierce group of lovers and friends who’ve all found family within each other. I cannot wait for Zayn’s story! 🥰
