I’ve been captured by vampires. Captured by a mad Fae king. Worst of all… captured by an old love. The ghost I’ve longed for is obsessed with me, but he doesn’t know the past we shared. That is just too much to bear. But I’m not alone in these cells. One of my men is by my side, ready to help me face the ghosts of the past and the monsters guarding the future. And that old lover could be a powerful ally…If he would just remember me. Instead, the three of us are locked in a conflict that blazes hotter than the danger beyond the bars…Don’t miss the explosive conclusion of The Darkest Mark trilogy!
Enjoyed the storyline but that honestly felt like it was thrown in there just so it wasn't straight spice. Don't get me wrong I love a good spicy book, but there was so much that it took away from the building of the relationships and the overall storyline, especially for the 3rd and final book in a series.
This was quite the adventure and I’m glad there were answers to almost all of my questions, even from book 1. I was so excited my prediction about who the rogue was came true (with a twist still!).
The plot line for this one was great, a bit similar to book 2, but with its own twists and turns. It also had one of my least fav tropes (amnesia). Besides that, it kept my attention from the start. Oh, and Karissa is still a boss lol!
Not that happy that Stone got so much screen time considering I really really dislike him and he was one of the 3 men in the harem to have a point to this story, while the others were almost forgotten. The ending was a bit rushed and could’ve had some ends tied up neater, but overall it was satisfying and a fun and interesting series. It keeps you invested.
Everything thrown in suddenly was for me a big red flag, I like things more hashed out not just hey let’s see if we can prolong this as long as possible.
We didn’t need Fae, we didn’t need vampires…. Idk they felt very forced. I really enjoyed the first book but sadly the rest of the series fell apart when it started to add too much.
This book didn't do the series justice, unfortunately. Pretty disappointing.
On the plus side, Brennan's name was spelled correctly each time in this book! (There's still a couple of little spelling errors in the book, but they did Brennan right this time!) In the first and second book, they just kept spelling it wrong. The third book is the charm, at least for his name!
If you enjoy spicy scenes happening more frequently in your books, you'll be happy to know it happens much more frequently in the last bit of book #2 and this one. For me, I actually found it a bit annoying and skimmed over them or even skipped them completely. For the first 1 3/4 books, it was almost all plot with the odd spicy scene thrown in. Suddenly, it's like the author realized she was running out of time and started throwing them in whenever she could. Don't get me wrong, I like it when characters get intimate, but it started happening almost too much, in my opinion. It could be because once a pace is set and the plot is good, I get into it. The rhythm kind of got lost when all of a sudden, there were intimate scenes every few chapters. They'd happen almost out of the blue, and it didn't feel like it flowed naturally. It was pretty disappointing and took me out of the story.
** MINOR SPOILERS ** There are quite a few inconsistencies in the book. Example: Brennan knew Amelia had a son, but not who fathered him. She never told him he was his. At one point, he mentions in his thoughts that he knows Dylan is his son, but then later on, when she tells him he's the father, he's stunned. Also, Amelia and Liam had a chat once about the wedding that happened with the vampires, but then later on in a second scene, he comes running up to her and says he knew about it as if their previous conversation never happened.
Overall, this book is much messier than the other two. It's really a shame because I enjoyed this story. I wish it was better done instead of being rushed through, which is what it feels like. I also wish there had been more of a change in Brennan in the end, but that's just my opinion.
DNF - Finished 100% book one 100% book two 10% of book three.
"Real life comes with happy endings, Amelia. You just have to keep going until you find one." book 1 pg. 201
I'm so sad because I was really looking forward to this series to be complete. Unfortunately it just didn't hit the... mark. ;)
It felt like it was the Stone show 24/7. He is literally the worst one in the harem. I find his narcissistic, controlling and possessive (even in the harem) behavior abusive. He literally mentally tortures her... like wtf? The FMC deserves better, the other men give her better and she is constantly keeping them at arms length. Using Shaw pretty much only for sex, letting Stone push Cole around, not making more of an effort to help Liam. I looked further into book three and it seemed like it was mostly about Stone and Amelia.. Brennan is obviously gonna be involved but even then it's like... what about the decent men in the harem?
Also, she had sex with Shaw while in heat and was taken so obviously isn't on any birth control anymore? So.... isn't she pregnant? Wouldn't she get pregnant after? It's literally never talked about. Also... she said she has never had a heat before, but she got pregnant with Dylan... so she doesn't need to be in heat to get pregnant and she is having sex? But no one has mentioned her getting pregnant with them... There is one inner monologue from Liam about a baby but even then he doesn't know if that's in the present for future.
Okay that ending was everything. I’m happy crying. I swear I started this series crying and now I’m ending it crying. Way to bring me full circle.
This series was everything. A unique shifter story with fae and vampires added in. Our FMC was strong and caring and loving. Gosh she’s everything.
Our men: Each of them changed so much from who they were in the beginning and became the perfect men for Amelia. •Well our beloved B definitely changed from who we imagined him to be, but who doesn’t love a touch her and d!e alphahole? •Stone got shoved into a role he never wanted and it made him overly protective because he couldn’t stand to lose anybody else. Him almost dying is the best thing that happened to him making him realize there is more to life. •Shaw we didn’t get much of him in this book, probably because we got so much more of him in the others. He isn’t a playboy anymore though but still the fun loving guy Amelia needs. •Cole his character didn’t alter much expect finding his place among a family he felt on the edge of. He is a great leader doing what is best for everyone. •Liam, my favorite and probably most everyone’s favorite. He’s so overlooked because of his perceived differences, but he really is the one to save the day.
This has been a wonderful series with a great ending. I hate to see it end but I couldn’t ask for a better ending.
I'm sorry but I just found this book frustrating. It seemed like it was written in a hurry. The transitions in scenes were not good. Like, you would read one sentence and then two sentences later they were in a completely different place, and I would think to myself..."well how did they get there?"
There were a lot of grammatical errors as well, which I find extremely distracting. As a person who struggles to focus, if I have to read a sentence 5 times just to realize that an "a" or a "that" was obviously missing (and thus my inability to follow) it makes me just want to stop reading all together.
I kept going though, because I wanted to see how the story ended (I don't like not knowing the endings, even if I am not happy with them). And overall, I was less than thrilled. I just felt that there were so many elements just randomly thrown in. You know...the whole, everything but the kitchen sink mindset. I wanted to like it, but it just wasn't working for me.
Like all of her other books, May Dawson is in need of an editor. The author doesn't know the basic rules of punctuation and capitalization. Author also doesn't understand that when someone is blind, they are unable to see Amelia put her hands over her sons ears to shield him from "language." Dawson relied too much on the kidnapped trope which in turn made the FMC weak as hell. The third book didn't include too many moments with her harem, it was just three people. An editor would have helped with the terrible pacing of the story.
I really loved the beginning of the book it was moving along greatly but by the middle to end it kind of lost its way, still a great book but I definitely got kind of thrown off when I got to that middle section. There was also some intermittent back and forths with the characters on situations that already happened but repeated again in a different way. I still loved the series though it was pretty great 😌
The Brightest Bonds is the 3rd and final book in The Darkest Mark trilogy. I'm sad to see it end as I loved the characters in the story. This book had so much action and excitement that it kept me flipping through the pages as fast as I could. I loved reading The Brightest Bonds. Amelia at the end of book 2 got taken or actually went willingly with her Bond Mate Brennan and the Vampires. His Pack members didn't recognize who he was they referred to Brennan as the Rogue. Amelia wanted to see where Brennan had been living and to see if she could help him get his memories back. Brennan or the Rogue is Amelia's first bonded mate he was said to be dead as the leader of Amelia's pack killed him or so they thought that is what had happened to him. As to Brennan's memories he doesn't remember his family only Amelia. Cole is like the second in command and best friend to all of the brothers. Aiden is Amelia's brother and he loves he sister very much. Rose is Amelia's younger sister and Dylan's aunt. Lawson is Amelia's best friend and always tried to protect Amelia as she was growing up. Karissa is Brennan's younger sister and she has an attitude that keeps her family inline. I love Karissa's take no for an answer attitude. Shaw is Brennan's brother along with Stone, Liam which is the youngest brother and has special gifts. all of the brothers and Cole love Amelia and will do anything to protect her from harm. So if you love Sassy heroines, 5 hot brothers, Snarky Attitudes and happy endings. The this book just might be for you.
I voluntarily reviewed "THE BRIGHTEST BONDS" I thoroughly enjoyed this amazing conclusion to this series so much happens its full of emotional turmoil, secrets, lies, betrayal, steam, angst, magic humor, witty banter, danger, different realms, twists that keep you turning the pages. Brennan kidnaps both Amelia & Stone he's the ghost of her past that's obsessed with her but he doesn't remember who she is to him or who he use to be not even his brothers & sister, he's part Wolf part Vampire now, Adrienne Queen of Vampire's save his life. Amelia & Stone find themselves locked in a tower in a Castle not knowing where they are but there in Vampire's home she wants Brenna who they call Wolf to get her pregnant be star they can't have children, plus their dealing with Aodhan Fae King, who has his own agenda, Wolf doesn't trust him & tells Adrienne she shouldn't trust him either. I definitely recommend to this intense rollercoaster ride of an adventure so much action, fear, will Brenna go through with what Adrienne wants him to do, will he betray the Vampire's to protect Amelia & Stone, will they figure out what Aodhan is after, you must get this conclusion to see what happens, the ending will shock & make you very emotional in a good way, it truly an awesone read you can't get enough of. EXCELLENT ENDING TO THIS AMAXING SERIES 🖤
After that cliffhanger on the previous book I was so excited to dive into this final book. We finally find out the rouge is Brennan and he kidnaps Amelia and Stone and takes them back to the vampire palace. While there we slowly get to learn about Brenna, vampires, their plans for Amelia and throw in some fae. Just an amazing end to a wonderful series. I feel in love with the king pack from book one and have loved seeing how their relationships have evolved and how Amelia just completes them all. I just adore Breanna and my heart just hurts for him and everything he went through. He wants to do good for Amelia and is trying to figure out how that works in his world of vampires and fae. This book defiantly took me on an emotional rollercoaster but had me in happy tears by the end. There was just so much going on and I was worried things weren’t going to get wrapped up in enough time but everything falls into place by the end of the book. I was so happy to see them be able to finally get their HEA. This was a great short series read and I absolute recommend it for those looking for a quick read series. It has a little bit of everything wolf shifters, vampires, fae, enemies to lovers, second chance romance and a few others I’m sure I’m forgetting
This is the third and final book in The Darkest Mark series and it's definitely been an adventure with Amelia and her men. At this point, Amelia and Stone have been kidnapped by her 'dead' lover and taken to what I can only describe as his new 'Master' the Queen of the vampires. All she wants is for him to remember his past, but it's gone and he doesn't remember anything at all. There are the odd feelings that he notices for some characters but he doesn't always understand them.
This really was the perfect ending for Amelia and her men and in a way it was a happily ever after that I felt like she deserved. There are a lot of twists and turns and challenges that Amelia must face along the way, but she faces them head on and I love that. Also, can we talk about Karissa, the guy's sister. I absolutely adore her and Liam. They are two of my favourite characters in the series. Karissa for her sass and her boldness to fight for her family. And Liam, well, he's just adorable I love him. Even with his troubles he still pushes through everything and tests himself when it comes to his 'powers'.
Really good ending to a series, that I thoroughly enjoyed.
*reverse harem *paranormal *multi-pov *wolf shifters *single-mom *fated mates *trauma *mid-fast burn 🔥 *established harem (5) *3/3 Solid ending Gosh well no one expected the rogue to be who he is 😲😲 And in his mission he kidnaps both Amelia and Stone dragging them back to the vampire lair, where want things from Amelia and Wolf that no vampire can have 😬 Amelia sees this as a chance to reconnect but Wolf being an barstool and refusing to acknowledge any connection between him and Stone: whilst being insanely possessive over Amelia it’s not looking likely 😞 Yet when the Fae King Aodhan becomes involved and it’s revealed what his true plans for her are…Wolf changes his tune! With the help of Liam and the rest of the King brothers they manage to bring everyone home 🥰 Although it’s not all plain sailing as Aodhan’s not going to give up on what he needs her for 😳 The final battle with Aodhan seemed over very quick for quite a build up but then I wasn’t expecting Filuna so that was a twist! A fast paced ending to this trilogy but thankfully Amelia finally gets the HEA she deserves 😃
The cliffhanger from the last book was a doozy but in this book we get answers! I was so glad to see who the wolf was but it was hard to hear everything he has been through and sad that he can't remember any of his past. I am sad to see Amelia go. I loved her! I loved how much she fought for Brennan and for him to remember and she wasn't going to leave him behind. She was going to help him remember even if it meant keeping herself in danger. Her dad! Ugh! Evil man! I hope in the future we also get to see Dylan and his siblings, their own books. My only complaint I guess you could say is I feel like we didn't get hardly any Cole and Shaw. Could have used more Liam as well. We were made to fall in love with them and just didn't get enough of them here. I would have enjoyed more of seeing them all back together since so much of the story centered around Amelia, Brennan and Stone and their time with the Vampires and trying to get out and back to their pack. What happened to Lawson? Loved Karrissa and would love to see her get her HEA as well.
I liked this series because it moved pretty quickly. The characters were well developed. There wasn't insta-love, which is how I like it to be.
I couldn't give this series 5 stars because the plot was not well balanced. In book 1 we find out that the fae are part of this story line. However, it was a brief introduction to them, and we find out very little about how they're involved until book 3. Then, it all goes really fast. Almost too fast. The story climax happens really quickly and felt anticlimactic. Also, while I enjoyed the epilogue, it didn't really say much about the development of the fae powers. Why couldn't they get the potion to help get (insert name here because I don't want to spoil it for anyone) healed up? It had to be a possibility, right?
Anyway, the series is still interesting and worth reading. I just felt like it needed a little "more". Book 3 could have given us more information instead of focusing so much on the physical relationship aspect of things.
The Brightest Bonds, book three in the The Darkest Mark series by May Dawson was the epic conclusion we’ve all been waiting for a more!
I’m this story Amelia finally gets the answers she’s been looking for, and finally gets connect with her “Rogue Wolf” and lost first mate—but of course in true Dawson fashion it can never be that easy. With plenty of secret revelations that will leave you reeling, our pack is finally starting to work out the kinks and it was absolute perfection! Seeing how they all work to come together, was just as amazing as I anticipated it being with the return of Brennen—but so much more!
With tons of spicy heat, twists and turns, revelations and suspense, betrayal and of course nonstop action, Amelia and her men really bring it all together in one explosive conclusion and epic battle to fight the Fae, the vampires and all their other enemies along the way and while I’m sad to see the ending, I’m glad she finally has her HEA!
The Brightest Bonds is the conclusion of Amelia's story. This shifter RH was non-stop turmoil as Amelia is kidnapped and dragged off by Brennan and the vampires. And even though the vampire queen had plans for the two mates, it would seem that the fae king had some of his own. Plans that certain aren't in Amelia or any of the mates best interests.
This book was so heartbreaking in places. The struggle that Brennan felt with everyone around him. Everyone wanting him to remember who he was and realizing that he may never he that person again. But the best part of this book was Liam stepping into his power. I loved that he got to show his strength and love in this finally book. And it was nice to have the answers to so much.
Firstly, what a HUGE twist on the reveal of the rogue's identity!!! I was NOT expecting that!! This entire series is a rollercoaster of emotions. You can't help but love Amelia! She's been dealt a rotten card in life, and even after everything she's still so kind hearted and willing to sacrifice herself for her child and found family. No spoilers here, but the development between her relationship with her guys was beautiful! They each love her and want her for themselves. They all love each other like brothers and have to learn to put her happiness first, the way she does for everyone else. She's such a selfless character, but she's also strong and determined to survive. I LOVED her!! I loved book 3, it was such a satisfying and beautiful ending to a story that has become a favorite of mine!
Brightest Bond, book 3 in May’s series answers most of my questions in the first two books. A great wolf shifter series with lots if angst for both the FMC and the MMCs. They are all doing their best and it just doesn’t seem to be enough. I cannot wait to see more details another Amelia, her mother, and her birth history! So excited that May went this route with Amelia’s future. Liam, Cole, Stone, and Brennan - I love how these characters and strong but flawed. I could definitely relate to them all trying to do their best and still worrying about mucking stuff up. So honest and relatable! If you are curious to hear more, please read this amazing story and get back to me! A great well rounded story!
This is Book 3 in the series and starts immediately after Book 2, "The Unbound Moon". Start with Book 1 "The Darkest Mark" for the backstory, characters, relationships, etc. This book has numerous very erotic, passionate, explicit episodes between Amelia and her protectors. Also, watch for the periodic change in POV; if you don’t keep track of whose POV it is, it can be confusing.
Continuing the story of Amelia, Stone, Shaw, Liam, and the King Pack, the vampires who turned Brennan, and their evil plans for Amelia and Brennan to produce a vampire/wolf hybrid baby. There is non-stop action and suspense as the threats to Amelia and her baby, and to the King pack, must be neutralized ‘with extreme prejudice’ and Amelia’s bonds with her five mates are sealed.
Amelia has had such a joyrney already and for the final book in her series, she still has so far to go! With her lost mate found and alive, where does that leave his brothers and Cole? Her other mates. With some nasty bits wrapped up right at the start, this book is almost a whole nother story arc and it is such a moving and emotional part of the tale! Packed with steam, with secrets revealed, hidden pasts exposed and betrayals coming from every direction - it is impossible to see what a HEA could actually happen. I loved this series and this book satisfied every part of me. Totally swoon worthy every step of the way!
An amazing conclusion to the trilogy. We watch as a ghost of their past comes back. But will it be a nightmare or dream? For Amelia nothing ever seems to go easy but she never stops trying. She would go to the end of the world for those she loves. Her relationship with her men will grow as well as her power. The story is filled non-stop with action and danger. With vampires and fae you never know what they will do and who to trust. But can she trust the one person who just may break her? The story had me transfixed from start to finish. The author has made some amazing characters with a plot that will keep surprising you.
May gives us an absolutely brilliant finale to the Darkest Mark series! The story of Amelia and her mates continues from the revelation of the rogue being revealed to be Brennan, her lost love and father of Dylan. As a wolf/vampire hybrid, he's forgotten everything about his life before the vampires found and converted him. This sparks off a wild emotional rollercoaster ride of events that eventually leads to a hard won HEA. This story is brilliantly written with complex characters and plot twists that you don't see coming and will keep you on the edge of your seat n I loved reading this book and highly recommend the series. Don't miss out on this book!!
Amelia finally meets the Rogue Wolf and finds her lost first mate! But he is different from the man she knew but the vampires have a plan for her and he does what he can to protect Amelia even though he doesn't remember his past.
Amelia finds out the truth of who her father is, finally learns why he wanted her, fights the plans of the vampires, and to bring her family (aka Brennan, Shaw, Liam, Cole, and Stone) as well as her son Dylan.
To finally get that happily ever after, Amelia and her men, as well as brother and sister have to fight vampires and Fae, kill a mad king and his other daughter to finally get peace for the King Pack.
The Brightest Bonds is the third and final book in the Darkest Mark series. This cannot be read as a standalone as this is a continuation from the last book.
Jeezus, Amelia has been through A LOT!! I mean, from being kidnapped by Brennan and the vampires to dealing with his amnesia. Super intense This was such a wonderful series. It had it's ups, it's downs, it's spicy moment, very emotional roller-coaster ride. I'm just happy that Amelia, Cole, Liam, Brennan, and Stone do get their well-deserved HEA. If you haven't yet, this is definitely worth checking out! I might just do another re-read in the future!!
This series has been incredible from the get go and although I am sad to see it come to an end, it has all been bought to a fantastic finale. Amelia and her men have been through so much, but their growth and coming together has been fantastic to follow. Well paced, the author does a fab job of answering our questions and bringing it all together, of tying loose ends and of giving us an ending worthy of this series. I’ve laughed, I’ve cried, I’ve swooned and I’ve cried again and I have loved every minute of this incredible journey.
I loved how the book picked up from the last, bringing us right back into the action. We get a lot of surprises, but some that really surprised me Brennan's relationship with the vampires and where that led us in the story. I loved the twist and how almost everything was tied up, leaving just enough wiggle room for a potential spin off. I even wondered toward the end if there would be one more book and was sad to see the characters go although very hopeful for cameos or spinoffs. We get some super hot dream steam and some heat steam which is always extra smokin'.
May Dawson has written a fantastic conclusion to this series. I couldn't stop reading. Action and drama around every corner. This book started where book 2 ended. Amelia leaves with Brennan and is locked up in the vampire's castle. Brennan does his best to keep her safe from harm. Amelia discovers who are father is. Her and her mates have to kill the mad fae King, so the King Pack can have peace. Amelia, her mates, and siblings finally get the happily ever after they deserve. I highly recommend this series.
