Inspiring and amazing
I met Julia for 2-3 minutes at a book launch for another young man, who was born with a horrible disability. I looked up & she was standing a little to the side, just looking at me while I was serving donuts, so I wasn't with the authors, I was just the help. She has such a peace, a glow, my husband noticed it too & so we started to talk & were thoughtlessly uninterrupted. She waited but the guy just kept talking (totally off subject) & wouldn't leave. I really feel we needed to talk but she faded into the crowd. Her book is about her son who was beyond amazing. She wrote herself & her husband as observers, but I have to say that they were the heroes in this story. This in no way diminishes Dallins' strength, struggle or wonderful attitude. But, usually, when faced with this type of lifelong struggle, one that changes your life so completely, couples will put their child in a special school, or become depressed & filled with anger, "why our son?" Then, fall apart & and end up divorced. The selfless love given to Dallin, & all the hard work, stress & exhaustion they went through is unimaginable. Yet, all I heard from this story was gratitude, love, & happiness for the time they were given. Julia & Brandon are major examples of pure love & selflessness. Now, I really feel that there was a reason we needed to talk. I have no idea why, but it seems important, like she had a message, so I hope I will get a chance to find out. Julia, you are beyond amazing & I wish I had half of the love & devotion that you do. Sincerely, Jeanie Harting
