Dana Marie Bell wrote her first short story when she was thirteen years old. She attended the High School for Creative and Performing Arts for creative writing, where freedom of expression was the order of the day. When her parents moved out of the city and placed her in a Catholic high school for her senior year she tried desperately to get away, but the nuns held fast, and she graduated with honors despite herself.

Dana has lived primarily in the Northeast (Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware, to be precise), with a brief stint on the US Virgin Island of St. Croix. She lives with her soul-mate and husband Dusty, their two maniacal children, an evil ice-cream stealing cat and a bull terrier that thinks it’s a Pekinese.

This is a promising start to a new paranormal series. There are many different kinds of Nephilim, but the author gives a great glossary on her website for ease of understanding. For me, this cast of characters is almost like a group of superheroes...some have fire power, some can be invisible, some are "Chameleons", while others are skilled warriors.

Seth has himself a gorgeous set of wings and uses them to keep an eye on Abby, who has been nothing but a friend's baby sister for years. She's all grown up now, and has someone evil stalking her. Abby's past is just horrific...while not spelled out in so many words, her ex spent some brutality on her and her family, ending his messed up idea of possession with burning down her house...while everyone was still in it. Now, it seems as if he is back. But either he's not human or he's working with the evil side of the fallen angels, the Shemyaza.

Seth and Abby are both really likeable characters, but I didn't love them. They were easy to read about, easy to follow around, and had a couple of steamy scenes that weren't all that explicit, in my opinion. I didn't think that this read any more erotic than most PNR out there, so don't let that stop you. A couple of raunchy words was really the only thing more erotic than normal.

What I DID really like was the setup for the rest of the series. This brotherhood of fallen angel soldiers is varied and really exciting. Some of them, like Seth's Russian friend Piotr, seem to straddle the line between good and evil, which always works for me! Maybe that's why I didn't love Seth. He was a really, REALLY nice guy.

The lineup of women that I expect are to pair up with the remaining single Nephilim is equally fascinating, with extremely varied professions that could end up being put into some great stories.

This ebook was provided to me by Carina Press via Net Galley in return for an honest review. My thanks to both!

Cover & title - 4 out 5
Favorite line - "You're into outdoor sex? That's your secret?" Abby licked her lips. "I suppose i can get into behind breaking that law"
Favorite Character - Abby

I felt like this could of been so much better, the sex scenes and chemistry were there but i struggled with the story. Towards to end i was done and ready for it to be over.

This isn't a review as much as an explanation to why it turned into a DNF for me. Most of things that I had issue with are probably not a big deal for others who will ultimately enjoy this book. All For You isn't bad. Certainly not worth the vitriol that was inspired by the last angel book I read. In fact, ten years ago I would have been fangirling over All For You. Five years ago, I would have been interested, but today it feels like a mishmash of other popular books with angels instead of vamps/shifters. In fact, after the overuse of 'brother', I was expecting them to start saying "Bhro" and start getting descriptions of their sh*tkickers and all the expensive brand name things they are using. ;)

Most of the problem with this story is that my buttons were pushed and not in a good way. The beginning is confusing. It starts in the aftermath of a battle where there are too many names and too much irrelevant information. The banter felt forced and out of place. We also learn that our hero is already hot for the heroine and gung ho about protecting her and how she was sweet and innocent.

The sweet innocence thing really, really bugged me. He's talking about a grown woman he has the hots for, a heroine we expect him to be banging sometime in this book and that just skeeved me out. The way I read his interest in her was "poor little (hot) woman, needs big manly angel to protect her".

Then we get to meet Abby, our heroine. She's talking to a friend and we get more forced banter. Like a big neon sign saying "Live Nude Banter" here. Poor little Abby, she's cute, everybody loves her and wants to take care of her and a klutz which I guess is supposed to make her lovable? And she's a victim of a violent ex. Yes, she's the Victim Sue. Who's not comfortable around men but there's just something about Seth that just rocks her boat.

And have I mentioned that Seth and Abby have the hots for each other? Because we are also told that just about every other page from both POVs. So in case you've already forgotten, they have the hots for each other.

So Abby's sister-in-law arranges for a dinner where Abby can get comfortable with Seth (don't ask) without it being a date. And now we get this whole scene around food, family and cards and it's supposed to mean something other than padding the word count.

What finally did me in (even the elliptical couldn't save this for me) was a scene where Seth knocks at her door 'cuz he's dead on his feet and asks if she could order him a pizza. Abby says no problem she'll be happy to feed him but he has to wait a minute 'cuz she's in the middle of her exercise routine of yoga to some soft rock. Which she proceeds to do. IN FRONT OF HIM.

Yeah. Right. Because a woman who is self-conscious of being around men, especially this hot one who's rocking her boat, is just going to sweat in front of him doing moves which any man with a pulse is going to get turned on by. Sure. All I kept thinking was that Catherine Zeta-Jones scene where her ass looks greats as she's trying to not disrupt the lasers.

I'm done. I just can't bring myself to care about why VictimSue is being targeted by the bad guys. I don't care about the story of her burns and how evil her ex is/was. I don't care about the other sequel bait angels. I stopped reading maybe halfway through chapter 2.

Now, again, these are my buttons which were doused with acid. I definitely think other readers can totally enjoy this universe.

Abby’s last relationship left her with scars and a fear of men but her brother’s friend, Seth, has managed to get past her walls. She’s ready to let go of a terrifying past but it appears that her ex is back and not willing to let her go.

Seth wants nothing more than to keep Abby safe and being a Nephilim will help with that if Abby will trust him. He knows she’s not telling him everything about the night that left her and her family injured and took her brother’s life. The balance between uncovering all the details while keeping her trust is a tricky one, especially when he is keeping secrets of his own. Like his ability to grow wings and fly and the fact that her stalker is connected to the enemies he has dedicated his life to defeating.

All For You is darker than previous Bell books. While the trademark humor is still there, the angst and violence take a more prominent role. Abby is so damaged but fights so hard to get what she wants from life. And Seth is just plain yummy. Badass warrior by night, caring (and hot!) lover by day. Seeing him lose his laid back attitude when Abby is in danger was fantastic!

It took me longer than normal to read this one because of the detailed world building. There are different types of Nephs and Shems and they have different powers. All the Neph names slowed down the story at times but they are important to the book and, I assume, the series in the future.

I believe fans of the early Black Dagger Brotherhood books and Larissa Ione’s Demonica series will love this new world from Dana Marie Bell. Strong female characters, a group of warriors (both male and female) who have become a family with all its quirks, and fabulously evil bad guys you can’t wait to see destroyed. With so many fascinating characters introduced, I’m very curious who will get their story next.

The heroine was almost TSTL & no Seth you didn't need to be that harsh. ><
But the world building is interesting so I will continue on to the next.

I love a book that can make you laugh and All For You achieved that…for all the wrong reasons. This book was not supposed to be funny but it was. I am going to be frank, this book was not so great but it falls into the ‘so bad it was good’ category and sometimes I found it entertaining even though I probably shouldn’t have.

To begin with I thought I was going to quite like this, the beginning was a bit odd and there was a lot of stuff happening that the reader was expected to understand but can’t because it was not explained but after that things settled down and I found it quite enjoyable and genuinely funny. It was when things got a little dangerous that this book lost the plot.

I have never seen characters make so many mistakes ever. Abby is being stalked, they think it could be her abusive ex who is in jail and they spend a good section of the book pondering if her ex could have broken out of jail...couldn’t someone make a phone call and find out??? Abby’s brother is a police officer! Yet no one thought to pick up the phone. From there more madness arises. Abby and Seth get it on in a outside hot tub, in the middle of the night, in the middle of nowhere, when they know the dangerous stalker is in the area and means to harm them.

Seth, is the most useless protector/hero/nephilim warrior I have ever come across, he fails to keep Abby safe 95% of the time. And despite promising never to let Abby out of sight he manages to do exactly that all the time. The best example of this is when she goes out into the garden to tidy up in the middle of the night. He was quite sweet though and I felt quite sorry for him because he had to put up with Abby.

In all the years I have been reading I have never come across a character so stupid in my entire existence. At one point Abby even says that she is too stupid to live and I have to agree. She is just so ridiculous. She is in town with Seth’s mum and sees her stalker across the road. She decides to sneak away from the people she is with and follows the stalker (who wants to kill her) to an ally way on her own. There is another moment when she gets into an argument with Seth and so she leaves in the middle of the night (after being shot at that day by someone who is still out there) via a boat that she has no idea how to drive.

There were some good bits in this book and I do not think Dana Marie Bell is a bad writer, but despite the laughs this was just not for me.

This is a DNF at 21% and that bothers me. This is my 5th or 6th book by this author so I was expecting more that what I just read. Granted, I probably should have continued beyond where I did but I simply could not. This is not your typical Dana Marie Bell story... or writing. If it was, I would keep reading.

This starts out with a battle of sorts between good versus evil, good angels and bad angels. This alone was quite confusing and I admit to having to reread lines more than once to decipher exactly what I was reading. That was no problem. I reread and I got it for the most part. Then it went on to laying out the other characters who are integral to the story, Abby being one of them and Seth (a good angel) being another. While I could see where the author was going with the two, I could not get beyond the frustrating writing style. This is not the Dana Marie Bell that I've grown to enjoy. This, at times, reads like a first draft of a high school assignment. Too many details in some places. Not enough in others.

I had to decide if I was willing to give up a few more hours with the constant frustration of what I was reading or to move on. I chose to move on.

Because I have loved others by this author, I am aware that she does write outstanding stories so I will not allow this one to prevent me from reading more by her.

Dana Marie Bell’s books have been my guilty pleasure reads for a while now. The paranormal worlds she creates in her stories are the places we all know and love, turned just slightly on their ear to make them uniquely her own. From puma shifters in Pennsylvania, Leprechauns in Oklahoma, or now Angels in Delaware, each time I pick up one of her stories I know I’m going to have a good time reading.

All For You drops the reader into the eternal battle of Good vs. Evil, introducing us to a world where Angels live among humans. Descendants of the original angels who came to earth have split into two factions, the Nephilim and the Shemyaza, with the Nephilim following the righteous path while the Shem are the fallen. Seth Van Licht is an Angelus, born with wings and the ability to shield himself from detection when necessary. Along with his comrades at arms, Seth protects humans against the foul and immoral actions of the Shem, all while trying to live as normal a life as possible. When his friend’s sister is targeted by a Shem, Seth is assigned to protect her as well as discover why a normal human would be attracting the attention of the Shem. While the task itself seems simple, Seth’s major concern is the attraction that has long been simmering between himself and his new assignment, Abby Marcheson.

Seth is a Nephilim, an angel who hunts the Shemyaza, evil descendants of Angels. He lives amongst humans, having a secret love for his best friend's sister, Abby, who is in danger from the Shemyaza. As the dark angels get closer to Abby, Seth must decide to risk his secrets in order to save her life, breaking all of the rules he has had to live by and possibly losing her forever, until then, he is just a guy who has stepped up to the plate to take care of Abby for her brother, acting as a babysitting bodyguard!

The story starts out defining the kinds of beings involved, with a little background set up, giving the reader a chance to identify with each character involved and how they interact with each other. This set up is involved and sometimes almost too detailed, although it does show great imagination!

As the story unfolds, the attraction between Abby and Seth is definitely heating up and they make a great pair throughout all they are facing. Seth is Abby's rock, clam, collected, in control.

The romance is kind of sweet, with Seth trying to behave, Abby trying to remember that Seth is 'just helping out his best friend, Bill (Abby's brother). Once the story settle in, its a great escape into the world of reading!

This ARC edition was given to me for an honest review by Netgalley and Carina Press and will be released December 24, 2012!

I feel like I should not even rate this book as I only got halfway thru it. I just could not get sucked in as I normally do when it comes to DMB. It was an okay story, but as I am going to school I Do not have as much time as I would like to read an okay book. Maybe once I get the time than I won't be as picky as to what I read. Here is one thing I think it has potential to be a great story like the rest of her series. It felt like the story was her first draft. There was too many details in one place and not enough in others. Than Abby started to annoy me like Smella (twilight) and well as you all know me I could not stand that character either. And what was it with the food details, honesty I could do with out. lol But like I said to be fair it can become a great series/story. If DMB takes it back, edits it, and adds her usual flair and humor.

I have read a lot of this authors books but this series always got pushed to the bottom of my TBR pile, even though I have read the extended epilogue for this book.
Having the time at the moment I decided to take it on.
Okay read, very simplistic and the stalker issue is dragged out too long.
I have read better along the same lines.
The other characters we meet held more interest for me and I will be looking at the reviews for them before getting them.
Abby and Seth annoyed me in quite a few ways.
The beginning is overloaded with an information dump due to being a new series.
I understood most of it but it could have been spaced out better. Maybe have this information further on once we get to know some of the characters better.
What I found strange and confusing was Abby had had a crush on Seth since high school. Seth was best friends with her older brother and hardly noticed Abby, to the extent Seth had married another woman.
Abby took up with a violent loser in response to replace Seth.
Now all of a sudden Seth lusts madly after Abby.
He apparently madly loved his wife, so much so he was prepared to follow her into death but he had never told her the truth of what he is.
Seth is an extremely sweet guy but not quite the smartest bulb. His protection of Abby doesn’t always work out. Not always his fault as Abby seems to want to be dead.
Abby was TSTL, which she acknowledges and is plain annoying in too many ways to mention. The times she did something that deserved to get her killed was aggravating. Always without even an apology.
Supposedly a sweet and timid person due to her past, some of her stupid actions went against how the author tries to portray her.
Way too easy to work out the stalker but I enjoyed the link to the ex.
Some silly proofing errors made it through which annoys me for a book costing this much. Luckily I read this through my library.

An amazing read that I enjoyed from start to finish. I was so into the plot and trying to figure out along with the other characters who was stalking Abby and why. It was an intriguing mystery the characters had to deal with.

What I liked most was Abby’s character. She’s been through horrendous, mentally and physically scarring experiences but she’s remained so strong. She not just some damsel in distress. She’s intuitive and actively participates in the story and investigation, which I am extremely grateful for.

Seth is adorable, patient, and incredibly kind. He too is still rising from a dark past so he’s very understanding and slow in her courtship of Abby. I like that he’s an architect by day and fights Shemyaza (the bad Nephilims) at night. His parents are also funny and amazing.

I love the brotherhood amongst Gabriel’s Nephilim. It’s sweet and endearing how loyal they are to each other. They truly are a family. And I like how they can always be reminded of that bond when they address each other in parting as “my brother.” Like, “Stay safe, my brother.” Too cute. I love all the characters.

As short as the story was (87,000 words), I thought it was told fairly well. It didn’t feel rushed. I feel like I was able to get a good understanding of the setting, how things worked, and who characters were (and there are a lot of names thrown at you). Overall, great story.

I requested this ARC when I was naive and young, and young and naive.. then couldn't finish the title because I very much disliked the dynamics between the hero and heroine. Angel/nephilim romance is difficult to manage, yet somehow a lot of authors tried to use those tropes as a new twist to the vampire formula?

Anyway, DNF for me, not because it was downright awful - it just never quite reached me.

Starts off with our 'angels' speaking a lot of profanity. Abby is a target of the Shemzaya and Seth is her protector and is in love with her. There are some really stupid moments there he swears not to ever leave her alone and then turns around and leaves her alone, not just once but several times.... really?

I liked this book, and can see what I requested to read it. Reminds me of several other angel-based series in the paranormal/urban fantasy genre that I've read. Probably won't pick up the rest of the series, mainly because it looks like the author has several series going and this one has a few years between updates.

I enjoyed All for You by Dana Marie Bell. At the same time I wish the heroine Abby was more kick ass and less wimpy. I loved the banter between the brothers of angels. I was surprised by some of the twist in the story line and who the stalker ended up being.

While the task itself seems simple, Seth’s major concern is the attraction that has long been simmering between himself and his new assignment, Abby Marcheson.

Abby has slowly rebuilt a life for herself after barely escaping an abusive boyfriend who managed to destroy her trust in men. She feels a connection with her big brother’s friend Seth, but she is wary to open herself up to any kind of relationship. Unfortunately when her apartment is invaded by an unseen stalker, her only choice is to let Seth into her life in the hopes that he can protect her from the threat. As the danger to Abby increases, Seth remains steadfast in his protection, giving her just enough of himself that she can open her guarded heart.

I liked both Seth and Abby, even if they teetered on the edge of being just too good to be true. Seth’s nature is to protect those closest to him, going so far as to hide his angelic side from his friends and even his wife during their brief marriage. His fear of Abby rejecting him for his abilities was handled well, never overpowering his feelings or causing unnecessary angst in the relationship. Abby’s fear of sharing her past was also handled well, especially since so many lives were affected. I did think it was unusual for her to trust her body to Seth before she trusted him with her secrets, but somehow it all worked.

The back story for the Nephilim borrows heavily on the Hebrew Bible’s interpretation of angels and the fallen ones who corrupted humanity before the great flood, even going so far as to name Seth’s superior officer Gabriel and inferring that he is the same Gabriel who smote the Shemyaza from Earth centuries before. I loved all of the world building within the story and finally got to put my bible studies to use in identifying the names and ideas used. There were only a few times where all of the exposition seemed to stall the actions of the characters, but that info-dumping was necessary to help identify all of the different types of Nephilim or Shem that existed. Also, as Abby was completely human with no knowledge of angels being real, she got to learn right along with the reader about the ins and outs of Seth’s other side.

Ms. Bell’s style isn’t going to be for everyone. She writes dialog in a colloquial way, so many of the conversations between the characters are full of brief sentences, interruptions or foul words. These exchanges still get the same amount of information across to the reader about the character’s state of mind and the building of the relationship; they just read more like real chats between friends. She also tends to be too Meta about the events going on within the story. An example of this was Abby herself commenting about acting like a horror movie heroine when she ventures out on her own. Meta isn’t necessarily a bad thing; however it works best when used in small doses. In All For You, I think Ms. Bell dipped into the well one too many times. A small complaint I did have was how tiresome it became when Seth and his compatriots kept referring to one another as “Brother.” This might not have been so bad if I wasn’t overly familiar with another series that uses that term so much. Unfortunately I kept waiting for the inevitable mention of shitkickers to go along with the Brothers. Perhaps another term of endearment between the men could have been used?

As a bit of escapist entertainment, All For You was a great read for me. I was drawn into the danger Abby faced and I didn’t expect the final twist in the reveal of her stalker. I liked watching the relationship grow between Abby and Seth. I also liked all of the secondary characters, both male and female, who will eventually be pairing up in their own stories. I know I’ll be reading each one as they are released.

Reviewed for Sara at Harlequin Junkie (http://harlequinjunkie.com/) Come check it out! :)

This was a pretty great book, but if you like a strong heroine, you MIGHT be a teeny bit disappointed.

Let's start with our "world" in All For You. Seth, the hero, is a Nephilim. A Nephilim is half angel, half human. Nephilim live in our world, have regular jobs and date regular people. The entity in charge of the Nephilim is a full angel, Gabriel. Like THE Gabriel. But Nephilim are also warriors. They protect humans from the Shemyaza, Shem for short. The Shem started out as angels but have turned evil. The Shem hunt humans and eat them. The more terrified a human is, the better they taste to the Shem. So the Shem are evil AND sadistic, sometimes terrifying their mark for weeks or months to enhance their flavor.

Abby Marcheson is a hairdresser who loves to cook! She's a lot of fun but she's had a tough few years. She has an abusive ex who tried to kill her. He's in jail now... or is he? Someone is stalking Abby and they seem to be using her ex as inspiration. She comes home to find things in disarray and messages that her ex would have said. And this happens more than once and things are getting more and more serious and less like pranks. Luckily, Abby's brother is a cop and he has a friend, Seth, willing to step in, help Abby out and act as sort of her protector. Little does anyone know that Abby has a super secret crush on Seth and has has this crush for years! So what's a girl to do when the man of her dreams has become her protector? How about take advantage of the situation!?!?!

Seth has known Abby's brother, and Abby, since they were kids. But Seth sees Abby as more than just his friend's sister. He sees her as a woman. A woman who has been hurt, badly, but is still amazing and vibrant and deserving of a good man who will love and care for her. Seth wants to be that man and happily takes this opportunity to watch over her. But he's taking on more than he thinks when he signs on to be Abby's protector.

I liked Abby and Seth together. They're like yin and yang; they complete each other. But there are a few things standing in the way of a relationship between them: there is Abby's stalker to figure out and then there is the issue of Seth being a Nephilim. I mean, he has wings so he's going to have to tell her about it at some point. But will she accept him or turn tail and run?

Seth is amazing. He's obviously a good person. He's sexy as all get out. Now, I know its his job but I love how protective he is with Abby. He has feelings for her before all of this starts and he essentially uses this as a chance for her to get to know him and for him to be close to her. But it isn't all about Seth and Abby. Seth has a great relationship with his fellow Nephilim. They are all like brothers and treat each other as such. Its always nice to see healthy male relationships in a romance novel and the relationship between Seth and his "brothers" does not disappoint.

Abby is a different story. I started off liking her well enough. But the more I got to know her, the less I liked her. She has this abusive past but she still insists on "bopping" people on the head. I think that phrase was used at least four times, probably more. To me, that was really inconsistent. Also, she continually wanted to run away and tried to do so several times. She was so concerned about her problems hurting her family and the people she cared about. For her, the best response was to run away, all alone. To me, that was just stupid and Abby didn't seem really stupid. In fact, a couple of times that she ran away, she created more work, more stress and more worry for Seth. To top it all off, it seems like Abby judges men on their ability to protect her. I mean, she actually said that! She met one of Seth's friends and thought something like, Hmm, this guy would be able to protect me so I guess I trust him. I hate that. I don't mind when our heroine needs a little rescuing; we would probably all like to hand over the reigns every now and then. But to be so blatant about what a wuss she was? And for her to be so stupid in addition to that?? It was too much and I didn't ever really care about Abby and I even thought she wasn't good enough for Seth.

Overall, it was a pretty good book. Its the first book in a new series and I think I'd try the next one when it comes out. I didn't care for the heroine at all but the world was interesting and the hero was pretty great. I would still recommend this book, but I'd only recommend it to people who can be really open minded about the heroine.

3.5 stars

I received an e-book from Carina Press via Netgalley. Thank you!

At first, I really didn't know what to make of this book. I disliked the way it started, and felt rather confused by a lot of things. But at the end, I ended up enjoying it and even looking forward to reading the next stories in the series, which I assume will be of Abby and Seth's friends (as already you can detect two upcoming couples).

As I stated above, I didn't like the beginning much. It felt rather stuck and awkward there. Maybe we should've started with Abby, or made the entire thing more interesting and exciting, as we did talk about hunting Shem. But something in it was just missing. The farther I went in the story, though, the better it got.

Abby is the main female character. I liked her enough, even though she cried and shattered a lot, because of the past she overcame. She may not have contributed much to the situation--sometimes making it worse by making a move only an extra on a horror movie set would make--but all things considered she took things better than imagined. The way she reacted to Seth's secret proved she is not a weak kind of person, even if sometimes she seemed that way.

Seth is the main male character. He has this cavemen vibe going on with his protectiveness but as Abby was threatened I think that was understandable. Aside for that he was sweet, kind, sexy and... well, angelic. Pun intended.

I thought the romance of the story was well done. I had some issues with it, such as how fast it happened and how quickly a person as mentally (and physically) scarred as Abby trusted and gave Seth everything, but fact was I only stopped to think about it once - which says something with a person like me, who usually grumbles about these things infinitely.

And about the villain... Okay, seriously, they didn't see it coming? Wasn't in obvious from the moment Seth said he felt something odd about that person, but didn't know what? And if not then, then when he gave Abby the offender's physical description it should've been as plain as day. And yet they were all surprised...

Still, I liked the ending. Abby and Seth were really sweet, and I liked the idea of them raising a family. Hopefully, we'll get a sneak of their lives in future books as well.

As for the writing; for the most part it was good.
Sometimes I got the feeling I was missing something - like a sentence that should've been there wasn't, which was a bit confusing. Sometimes it was a bit hard to follow the times--had time passed? Hadn't it?
Also, I felt the entire deal with the Shem and Nephilim could've been more interesting, and less like a history lesson of some sort. I mean, we're slaying evil. It should be very exciting. Then why did I feel bored at these parts?

When it comes to the general plot line, I liked it as it held enough romance, drama and danger to feed an elephant, but I did have some minor complaints;
I thought the repeating pattern they had going on (i.e stalker breaking in -->they run --> just as they feel safe the stalker strikes again --> they run and so on) could've been spiced up a little. They felt very powerless through most of the story.
Also, I rather thought the 'secret' Abby's family hid about the fire was meaningless. It served no purpose other then putting some strain on Abby and Seth's relationship, and I rather felt the story could've done without it--unless we find out there's something more to that in the next books. In which case, consider this complaint invalid.

On a side note, I really do love the cover. It's so pretty!

All in all, this was a good book to read. Fact was, I found myself reading up to the early hours of the morning, realizing how late--or rather early--it was only when it was half past two am. It was hard to make myself stop reading, but I knew I had to.
First thing I did in the morning was finish the book.

I really wanted to like this book but I had a hard time doing so. It had a really interesting premise with Nephilims but....
1)it could have used a glossary as there were many different types of Nephilims and Shemyazas (their arch-nemesis) most of which we were told via dialogue between the main characters but many had no part in this particular book so it felt like she was info dumping instead of world building.
2)The hero got mad at the heroine because she did something that labeled her TSTL and actually said "Even you aren't that stupid." at which point I would have giving him a big F.U. and left his winged butt where he stood, but not her. Nope she was just smiling like an idiot because she realized he didn't frighten her (which after a violent past as a battered woman it was understandable why a man shouting at her in anger would have made her curl up in a ball but the man said she was stupid! Come on!)
3)The heroine then proved repeatedly that she truly was that stupid and continued to do TSTL things.
4)The hero eventually proved that he was also TSTL.
5)The mystery was explained in a way that I felt completely let down.
6)The heroine has something like 20 best friends (slight exaggeration) all of whom were mentioned at least once during the course of the book even though some were not actually in the book at all.
7)Abby is being stalked and she's terrified it's her ex who is supposed to be in prison for life yet she doesn't try to contact the prison to make sure he is still there. No one does.
8)This book uses a version of the 'mated' theme to explain why couples are together yet it appears that a mate is not a once in a lifetime thing and a Nephilim can indeed have more than one during the course of their lifespan. This seems a bit confusing and it's just not explained enough.
9)The Nephilims have something unique about each one of them but they are essentially human. They don't appear to be super hard to kill. They are not bullet proof and their lifespans are the same as humans. I really prefer my supernatural boyfriends to be a little like Superman. Sigh, yet another disappointment.
10)I had a hard time grasping how old the characters were as their dialogue seemed quite juvenile. I thought the bunch of them were teenagers for a moment (especially when the heroine thought to herself "She hoped they understood how tired she was, because soon she'd be seeing little ponies prancing on the ceiling, farting rainbows everywhere." Really?)

Anyway, it really did have potential and the suspense on who was stalking Abby and why was compelling. I found myself wanting to get back to the book to find out what would happen but I ended up just disappointed. On a side note I think Dana Marie Bell generally writes erotica and it was evident in the wording during the sex scenes. Although I am not a fan of erotica I didn't hate the sex scenes in this book. I liked that the plot was not overshadowed by the sex and the sex scenes did not feel out of place when they occurred.

Overall, I will give this author another try and read the second Nephilim book when it comes out sometime in the future. 2.5 Stars

(I received this book from NetGalley for my honest review.)

DNF in 55 %

- Terlalu banyak detail.

- Try too hard. Banter percakapan maksa banget buat ngelawak tapi garing banget.

But it's me, kau bisa mencobanya sendiri untuk memastikannya.

(Source: I received a digital copy of this book for free on a read-to-review basis. Thanks to Carina Press and Netgalley.)
Seth is a nephilim - a descendent of angels, and has his very own wings. Seth's job is to protect humans from the Shem - evil descendents of angels.

Living across the road from Seth is Abby, his friend Bill's little sister, and Seth has promised to look out for her.

When Abby's ex-boyfriend Doug (who tried to kill her) is found to have escaped from prison, and Abbey's house is broken into, Seth takes his duties protecting Abby even more seriously, and he takes her to stay with his parents.

Seth and Abby's feelings are not purely platonic though, and their developing relationship is causing Doug to esculate his attacks on Abby.

Can Seth keep Abby safe? Can Doug be stopped before it's too late? And what will Abby say when she realises that Seth is not 100% human?

This book really didn't do it for me. I thought that the blurb sounded really interesting, but the actual book was just a bit of a let-down.
The writing just felt awkward to me, and while this usually abates as the story gets going, this time it just didn't, and continued to feel awkward all the way through.
The sex scenes were okay, but again, felt awkward, and instead of enjoying the intimate moments I found myself cringing.

The actual stuff about the nephilim and Shem wasn't all that interesting - it felt like a school history lesson or something, and when Seth thought that the Shem might be after Abby, he admitted that he had absolutely no idea why, which kind of made the suspicion a bit unfounded.

The characters themselves were all okay, but I didn't fall in love with them, and I felt like I was having to force myself to keep reading to the end.
I had hoped that the romance parts of the book would make up for the poor storyline otherwise, but unfortunately that didn't happen, and I didn't really like the romance parts of the book either.

I sure some people would enjoy this but it really wasn't for me. Maybe if you just wanted to read the sex scenes without the storyline it wouldn't be as bad, but I couldn't recommend this as a good paranormal romance.
Overall; awkward and uninspiring.
5 out of 10.

I normally don’t really do books about angels. Too often it results in a lot of talk about God and belief and I’m not a big fan of that. Still, I decided to give All For You a chance without actually knowing why. I think it may be because it sounds more like a romance with a hint of paranormal, than a paranormal with a hint of romance. Does that make sense or is it only understandable to me?

Anyway, I’m very glad I decided to give it a shot. I loved the angels. They are kind of like the X-Men with different ‘superpowers’ and their power kind of marks them. It was awesome! Seth was far from being the angel with the greatest power, but his was all right. He does, however, have an amazing personality and he’s both funny and charming. The other angels are a lot of fun too and I especially liked the idea about Gabriel as angel-boss – the one the rest of them respected and feared. Abby is quite interesting and her history is very intriguing, but it takes too long before anything is really revealed. There are tons of hints and some of the story is slowly revealed, but the whole deal was postponed again and again and it ended up bugging me a lot! I just really wanted to know!

The story itself (the main story, not Abby’s story) is neither innovative nor fantastic but it was all right and it kept me reading. The best parts of the story were the relationship between the angels and the bantering and sexual tension between Abby and Seth. You need to read this story because of the romance and people-part instead of the paranormal parts. I have the next one in the series (The Fire Within – about one of the other angels) waiting for me and I’m looking forward to once again embarking on an adventure with some hot angels!

Anyone who is a die hard Dana Marie Bell fan knows that when you pick up one of her books you better be ready for a great story, addictive characters, hot sex and a good laugh, and that's exactly what I got with this one. I really loved this story. Once again DMB has managed to create a completely unique world and undeniably addictive characters.

The world of the Nephilim was so well thought out and brilliantly crafted, I loved the different types of Neph and their powers. I also loved the back story behind the Neph and the Shem. This story hooked me in and had me on the edge of my seat the whole time, in fact at one point I thought I was going to lose my sanity with my need to find out the twist in the story. And Abby's secrets were so well delivered, I swear I spent the few hours I wasn't reading dreaming about what her story would turn out to be.

When it came to the characters Seth was definitely the one who stole the show. Abby was a nice character but not as great as DMB's usual female leads. There was one point where she started to irritate me because she was being so damn stupid and, like Seth, I wanted to grab a hold of her a shake the stupid right out of her. But still she was a well rounded character, she went through a lot and it does makes sense that she would be a bit stupid in her actions as a result. But it was still Seth that made me swoon. He is so hot and was just the right amount of caveman and gentleman. The supporting characters were great too, I can't wait to read Dante and Damien's stories.

All For You is definitely a very welcomed addition to the world of DMB and I cannot WAIT to read the next one in the series.

I'm rounding up from 3.5 stars for this review. I liked this book just not as much as I wanted to. The blurb sounded like something that I would love to read, I mean hot angels protecting us mere mortals from evil demons.....yeah, sign me up. What I got was confused. There were something like 23 characters introduced within the first 3 chapters or close to it and not all of them even showed up in the book as anything other then a name and an explanation of who they were. There was also an information dump in those same first 3 chapters. A lot of explanation in a short amount of time that I had to reread once or twice. There was also some weird dialogue between the characters that seemed to come out of nowhere. One small detail that had me going back to check was that Abby's friend Kaley was introduced as an actress then at the end of the book became the country -hopping archaeologist. All that being said, I will be reading the next book because I'm interested in seeing where this series goes and I'm a fan of Ms. Bell's other books. It's definitely an interesting world that has been introduced and the few Nephilim that we met are begging to have their stories told. All I can say is read it and make your own decision on what appears to be the start of a pretty good series.

This book had all of the yummy and fun things I’ve come to expect from Dana Marie Bell and introduced me to the new world of the Nephilim. There’s romance, sexy time, action, and mystery all rolled into a fun, quick read.

Abby is a woman with a bunch of baggage. She’s fighting to regain her life after her ex tried to kill her and, consequently, made her into the timid person she’s become. Seth is a Nephilim and is a half angel warrior tasked with fighting off the evil half angels, the Shem. As their relationship blossoms, they have to find a way to coexist without constantly bashing against one another. They begin a life of cohabitation, at first by circumstance and then by choice after some sigh-worthy romantic scenes and sexy times.

The relationship between the two of them was really the focus of the story. We meet a lot of her other friends (and probably future spinoff characters) along the way, but Abby and Seth are the couple to watch. It was a little hard to watch Seth yell at and drag Abby around after he knew she’d been in an abusive relationship before. Other than that, though, I have no complaints. The writing style was easy. The sexy times were sexy. The action was fast-paced but easy to follow. All in all, this is a series I could easily dive into.

All for you by Dana Marie Bell is the first book in her Nephilim series. The Nephilim are half angels and their task is to hunt the Shemyaza, their evil counterparts. The hero of this story is Seth, a Nephilim, an architect by day and a Shemyaza hunter by night. The heroine of the story is Abby, the sister of his good friend and his neighbor. The afternoon before their first date Abby gets an unpleasant intrusion that brings back memories and fears that she has tried to put in the past. It is the catalyst that drives her into Seth’s home and his arms.

All for you is a great read. The story is interesting and pulls you along. The plot and information is clearly written without bogging you down with too many details. It weaves in the secondary characters seamlessly and leaves you eager for their stories. I am particularly looking forward to Piotr’s story. The romance between Seth and Abby is charming yet steamy. The only negative was Abby’s penchant for doing stupid things, but it didn’t bother me too much. Overall it’s well done and will leave you anticipating the next book.

This book is a romantic, mystery and paranormal.

Seth is a descendant of angels called Nephilim, he fell in love once and lost that love. But was it true real love, she never knew his deepest secrets, he has never felt the need to be that honest. When a friend ask for his help to protect a woman named Abby, his deep need to protect and love her is unbearable, nothing will stand in his way, but his biggest fear is if she won't accept his Nephilim side. He's willing to give her all of him, is it going to be worth it?

Abby been in the worst kind of relationship you can imagine, with that man behind bars for trying to kill her and her family, she is trying to heal not only the physical scars but the emotional ones too. As her neighbor across the hall Seth is a temptation she can't resist and is willing to let the walls come down. But with someone trying to kill her all over again she doesn't want to risk losing him, so she does what she does best, runs.

Loved the story, but I just could not connect to the characters. Sorry.
