Update 2012: Received my degree in computer networking and devoting my full time and limited attention span to writing. Thanks to everyone who is making this dream a reality.
The Sorcerer's Path is an excellent series with everything I enjoy in a good fantasy series. Not only is there great character development there's also plenty of action, humor, and emotional moments to keep you riveted. So, if you haven't read the Sorcerer's Path series then give yourself a treat and do so.
I'm having a book binge because these books are fantastic. However I intend to sleep tonight because I think two nights staying up will affect my concentration.
Goodness! I just can't believe what happened in this book. I never would have imagined... THIS would happen. I don't want to spoil so I will only refer to the event as THIS. I was wondering since the first book if perhaps the author Deskins is not a little bit S (as in sadist). But now I really kind of think it's a fact with THIS. But "yappari" I still absolutely love his kind of S.
I think the plot twists were refreshing and unexpected. There's still no clear cut rules to the magic system in this series, and the author's insistence on putting absolutely everything in western mythology into the story is all over the place. But the characters are lovable in their own rights, and I look forward to what else at the bottom of the barrel pagan lore can offer.
Book 5 was a fun read and had errors throughout. The plot and characters are put together well. Some of the information given has a purpose but, otherwise is not very important or needed for explanation.
I am not going to say much on this book in the series. The first half of the book was great except for being a little winded in places. I could have lived with that! I have been a great supporter of this series until this book. I hated where the author took it and has become way to ridiculous. Toward the middle and through out the end it really sucks. I will NOT be reading any more from this series. It has been ruined for me, I had fallin in love with the characters and the author ruined them beyond repair. (I don't care that the author beings them back, they are already tainted by stupidness) If you are reading this series and want to continue, then more power to you. For me it stops here, I kinda wished I had stop before this book.
He adds too much feminism for my liking. All 3 the group leaders are females with the whole rest of the groups being male.. Thats annoying. The girls are all super smart and amazing, better than males, and most the guys are pathetic. Tons of typical snipes against men that empower females. Typical modern feminist crap. Its not as bad as other books I've read, and the story is good enough to grit my teeth through it, but its annoying and makes me take off at least a star.
This one was a bit better but seriously this entire series is filled with almost every imaginable fantasy trope. Sometimes less is more. Although I'm glad some of the minor characters were reintroduced I already thought author just threw them away.
This book is so enticing. Just the right amount of action and world building. If you enjoyed the earlier books within the series you will enjoy this one.
Its nice to see that no one character is safe and that the stakes are high for any one of them. The twist upon their fates was definitely interesting to see.
