About the author

Ralph David Feigin was an American paediatrician whose influential book Textbook of Paediatric Infectious Diseases was in its sixth printing at the time of his death. He was the associate editor for Paediatrics (the official journal of the American Academy of Paediatrics) as well as co-author and editor of numerous textbooks in paediatrics and infectious disease. In addition to being the CEO of Baylor College of Medicine, Feigin held the notable position of Physician-in-Chief at Texas Children's Hospital from 1977 until his death in 2008.
