Remembered only as legend, these writings gathered by an obscure sect of wizards were hidden because of the diabolical forces they could unleash from the astral realm. Lost for eight millennia, the resting place of the scrolls is accidentally discovered by Xavier D’Shagre.
Wounded and dying, the sorcerer seeks to possess the forbidden spells to restore his waning magic. Revenge fires his hatred, lit by Morgan Saint-Evanston, the assassin who murdered Xavier’s beloved wife, Nisidia . Xavier vows he will not rest until his enemy is dead.
The sorcerer’s search for the scrolls is discovered by an unlikely Julienne Blackthorne. Believed dead, her body was tossed into a charnel room. Alive amongst the reek of the battle dead, she is desperate to escape her hellish incarceration. Time is against her, for she carries the embryo of a vampiric daemon that will consume her if it is not fed human blood. Julienne must escape Xavier’s dungeons and find Morgan, her last hope for survival in the cultic realm of Sclyd.
Devyn Quinn lives in the scenic Southwest, though she has called several other states home. She is a huge fan of dark gothic music & shoot-’em-up action movies. But reading is her first love and Devyn spends too much time with history books, as well as feeding her addiction for celebrity biographies. She especially enjoys reading books on Hollywood before the 1960′s and is crazy about Marilyn Monroe, her legend and her myth.

From website:
I started out writing paranormal romance under a few pen names that didn’t get very far in the publishing world. Later on, after years of not writing, I debuted in small press and used the name of Caitlyn McKenna. My first releases were Echoes of Angels (later re-released as The Keeper of Eternity) and Descent of Demons (later re-released as The Price of Eternity). When I began writing erotic romance, I wrote under the name of Jeya Jenson for several epublishers/small presses such as Ellora’s Cave, Extasy Books and others. Later, I was offered a contract by a NY publishing house, and neither pen name was acceptable to the editor. After batting some names around, I became Devyn Quinn. Several of my Jeya Jenson titles also made the jump to print, such as Flesh and the Devil (Kensington Aphrodisia), Before Night Falls (now published as Sins of the Flesh, Kensington Aphrodisia) and Sins of Flesh (now published as Sins of the Night, Kensington Aphrodisia).
At this time I write solely under the name of Devyn Quinn and will continue to do so in
Book 2 in this series give more meaning as you slowly get to see inside Morgan's head.....I wouldn't want to mlm live there.....that's for sure...... ......and I still want to slap him
Descent of Demons is the second book of the Keepers of Eternity Series. In the previous book, the heroine Julienne Blackthorne leaves her life as a supermodel to find rejoin her lost heritage after suffering severe domestic abuse by her former husband. She then meets Morgan Saint Evanston, a man with whom Julienne and her ancestors' family have a strange and powerful connection, and her whole view of reality is turned upside down.
In this book, Julienne has already discovered her connection to powerful occult powers and to Morgan, a immortal warrior from an alternate dimension called Sclyd. This book begins just after Julienne and Morgan battle the evil Xavier. Xavier and Morgan are comrades turned enemies over the love and death of a woman. Morgan, having regained his soul but believing Julienne is dead, retreats in solitude and depression. Julienne, however, isn't dead. Instead, she has been infected by a vampiric mutant. Now the couple must find each other and stop Xavier from finding the Ancient Scrolls of Cacheon which will give him dominion over both Sclyd and the mortal world.
Descent of Demons is an action filled dark fantasy full of occult magic and horrifying demons. The story progresses naturally from the first book through the second book. The characters are well developed, especially in the first book. Therefore, readers will enjoy the continuing saga more if he or she reads the first book Echoes of Angels before continuing onto Descent of Demons. Nonetheless, Descent of Demons is fairly self contained and therefore would be enjoyable to the reader who has not read the first book of this series.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Descent of Demons is book two in the Keepers of Eternity series. It picks right up where the first installment left off, so I recommend reading that one before picking this one up. It's definitely much darker and readers are given way more insight into Morgan. I still just couldn't get into the writing style of this author. I wound up skimming most of the book because of the level of details of the writing. The story jumped around a lot and introduced a ton of new characters while also reintroducing readers to ones from the first book. I stuck with it primarily because of the opportunity to understand Morgan a little better and the fact that I tend to be drawn to pretty dark books. The author did introduce some elements of vampirism, but it wasn't carried forward very effectively. Overall, only slightly better than the first book.
A very entertaining book that I enjoyed reading. I'm not used to reading books about demons warring, but I enjoyed this type of book and will be reading more from this author. I recommend Descent of Demons!
Left for dead in a hellish corner of the dark realm, Julienne Blackthorne refused to surrender, and through her own force of will and her love for one man she managed to survive and escape. I don’t know if I needed to read the first book in this series or what, but I was lost right from the beginning. I just didn’t like it. **I voluntarily read and reviewed this book
