In the 3rd book of the series, Bree begins to come into her own. Madalynn finally shows her true colors and Essie tries many times to kill Bree. Bree discovers her 5th "love", Gary and meets her sisters.

Unfortunately, this is the last book (currently) in the series and Bree has yet to cross over. Please Ms. Lacy, it's time for another installment.

Author M.L. Lacy wraps up her Chrysalis Series with Trepidation and I found this one to be the best of all three! Having read Book 1: Chrysalis Awakening and Book 2: Chrysalis Tribulations, I really couldn’t wait to read the last one in the series and see how it all ends

In the first two books, our main character Bree finds out that she is what is called the “last chosen one”. Without her knowledge, she was chosen before her birth to become the leader of the world – actually, the last, supreme leader of the world. Bree has become the Alpha Female of the clan of vampires that has been protecting her all her life. She is still a mortal and has not passed into the “Magical Realm”. Before she can do so, she has to learn and refine her magical powers and prove to her vampire protectors that she is up for the challenge.

As book three begins, Bree has become more comfortable in her new role and is dealing with others who do not want her to take over the world. She has not completed her change into the Realm yet, but her powers have multiplied. She has many enemies that want to take her down, including Esmeralda who wants Bree’s position as ruler. Esmeralda, along with other enemies and demons is trying her best to rid the earth of Bree.

We also find that Bree has something called the “Special Seven”, which is a group of men with whom she is involved with, even though she still has her chosen life mate Steven. We watch as she embraces the fact that she has multiple “loves” in her life and she starts to enjoy it very much!

This was such a fantastic series! It is definitely “mystical” and involves vampires, witches, dragons and werewolves – so if these types of stories don’t appeal to you, you should probably move on to something else.

Me, however – I ADORED this series and would love to see more from author M.L. Lacy!!

Trepidation is the third book in the Chrysalis series. Bree's story continues. As Bree's magical powers grow, so does the power of Esmeralda. She has found the dragons and has grand plans to use them against Bree and her clan. When evil is so strong, how can one being, someone who isn't even a magical defeat it?

Bree's clan stands behind her. As her powers grow, they find it increasingly difficult to let her spread her wings. If they had their way, their little Bree would be kept far away from Esmeralda and her cohorts. Bree has chosen to stand her ground and not back down from Essie and so the battle continues.

Lacy weaves another magical tale of betrayal, love and trust. A complex cast of characters makes reading the previous two books a must. I thought this was the last book in the series only to discover that there are more on the way. I was thrilled to discover that Bree's story hasn't ended, it really has just begun.

Ms. Lacy has captivated me as a reader and has me wanting more and more. Her entire series is so different from other paranormal romance stories on the market. Not focusing on the blood and gore found in so many vampire book, she has told a tale that I truly enjoyed and had a hard time putting down.

Disclosure: I received a free copy of this ebook in exchange for my honest opinion.

This book was pretty darn good. I've been waiting a long time for this book to get published, and I wasn't disappointed.

That said, there were still a few typos, and the story is getting more and more strange. I also kinda felt like Bree wasn't really as connected to Steven in this book, and if I hadn't read the other ones, I'd have kind of felt like, "what's so special about this guy that he gets put on a pedestal above the others?" Maybe I'm just having trouble with the whole love hexagon thing. Three guys, maybe four, I could kind of wrap my head around, but adding in the fifth one was a bit rocky for me. I kind of just felt like guy#5 (no spoilers), was a bit two dimensional still when Bree connected with him. That said, there are about a thousand characters in this book, so maybe there just isn't enough time/space to fully develop every single one of them. However, I really enjoyed the sisters.

Overall though, I really enjoyed this book, and once again, had a hard time putting it down (tricky with two preschoolers running around!). Definitely worth the wait, and I'm looking forward to book 4!

The third book in the series has resolved some questions, and opened up more.

While there was more action in this book, which I enjoyed, none of the main points have yet to come to any sort of satisfactory conclusion for me. That is all I will say, as I don't want to give anything away for those yet to read the book.

Rest assured, I am ready and waiting for the next installment - and hopefully some closure to at least one or two parts of the main storyline!

Hehe my mom won this one on goodreads and I snatched it before she could read it! I could hardly put it down. When it was time for bed I was always reading until the light was turned off and I couldn't see. I love this seires and can't wait to read the others! I was not wanting to give it back but since she said she would get the others I agreed (I would have given it back anyway ;) ) I am so glad she won this book!
