In this second installment of the No Shelter trilogy, we follow Nada as she attempts to right a wrong and find Isaac in hopes of bringing him home safely. We learn a little bit more about Nada’s personality as this novella unfolds, especially as the love triangle between her, Isaac, and Deadric begins to climax. I have to admit, I found myself miffed with Nada throughout much of this novella. I think that she made some terrible choices, and I wanted to reach through the pages and strangle her on many occasions, especially when it came to acting on her feelings. However, she lost her mother when she was about 15, and so she hasn’t had the guidance she needs to understand what love versus lust is, and I think, had her mother survived, things would have panned out differently in this novella. And, that being said, reader beware, there are some situations within the novella that make me think this is more suited for 18+ readers, as some explicit scenes take place that I don’t believe are suitable for teens and younger readers, so just keep that in mind as you read.

That aside, I was very interested in the love triangle, though I still dislike Isaac—there is something off about him, but I don’t know what it is. I don’t trust him, and while Nada seems to, she also doesn’t seem to have a clue what she’s doing. Daedric is a great guy, but I’m not 100% sure about him either… perhaps it’s because Nada has only known him for a few months… I don’t know, but we’ll see what happens in the final installment, which I’m about to read!

Now, in terms of the story line of book two, I felt a little bit like it happened too fast for me to really connect with all the characters and situations. I’d love to slow it all down and learn even more about the perils of their travels and the characters’ innermost feelings because I think it’s a very good story. So much could have happened within the weeks that are glossed over while the characters travel about, and I’m dying to know all the details, but I also understand that too much detail can be boring as well. Thus, it’s a hard line to tote when writing, and I think Welti did a good job sticking to the information readers needed, and not making the story so full of detail that it put the reader to sleep. This is definitely a fast-paced read, and if you like post apocalyptic stories, then this series is for you!

Book 2 Left Behind
The story of Nada, Issac, Mary, Daedric and the others. At the end of No Shelter, they were on there way back to danger, to get Issac. Nada, Mary and Daedric start on the journey. On the way they stop to rest, starving and very discouraged, they find Issac. He has made it away from the guardians with another girl in tow. How did he "get away"? Slowly the story comes out. Daedric and Issac both want Nada. As the story unfolds and they learn what the guardians want from the young travelers. By the end you know why they have to run, and where they must go. This is a continuing story, so there is a 3rd book coming.

The 2nd installment was very good. Lots of stuff happening. I really like Daedric. With Issac, Nada has known him for longer but he really gets around and I am still not sure if I trust him. Daedric loves her and would be good, but I am not sure if Nada really wants a good guy. I am also worried about Mary. She seems on the breaking point. I guess we shall see in book 3(soon to come). For those YA fans...I will say it is not appropriate for under 16. Book one was ok for that age range. Book 2 does have a sex scene in the book. Other than the sex scene, there is some moderate violence in the book as well.

The tormented soul mates with benefits, Isaac and Nada, take the next step in their relationship only to take two steps back because of jealous Mary, the cutter. Nada and her not-so merry clan of survivalist travel through the collapsed state of California searching for one of their own. They had to leave Isaac behind in the last episode, and now they have regrouped and face harsh travel conditions during their quest. Isaac appears out of nowhere and has some interesting cargo with him.

I finished this book about a month ago. I was afraid to review it while basking in its glow. I thought that some time apart would give me a more objective view. Maybe, seeing other books would break the grip these characters have on me. It didn’t work. I still remember everything about this thriller turned romance novel. Okay, I’m nowhere near my late teens and early 20’s that sums up all the characters in this book, but I still read it with guilty pleasure.

Soon I’ll be immersed in the third book of the No Shelter Trilogy: Buried Alive. I’m sure it will not disappoint.

Left Behind is the 2nd book of the post apocalyptic romance series No Shelter, written by T.S. Welti. Taking Place right where the first left off the kids have all escaped barely from the prison when they rescued Deadric’s sister, but Isaac was captured and left behind. Nada, and the other’s decide to go back for Isaac and rescue him from the prison. Along their journey to rescue Isaac they find him, he has escaped with a girl in tow, her past is a mystery and Nada finds herself torn between two boys, one who could be her future and one she feels bound to by her past, and risking it all, but is it the right choice?

I love how this booked just flowed right from the first and immediately got going, you felt like you never changed books it was an excellent continuation in story line. I loved how Nada character, with all the crap going on and trying to survive, she still has the same worries as every other teenager, with love triangles, & squares and everything in between. I would definitely recommend this book it was a great read.

I give this book a 5 out of 5 Stars

Just a heads up, this review will be for the entire trilogy, since I read them all in one sitting. No spoilers, though.

From the first few sentences in the first book, I was hooked. T.S. Welti does not beat around the bush when getting to the meat of the story.

There are many post-apocalyptic stories out there, and as a huge fan of the genre, I have read so many that the ones that tell the stories from a new perspective catch my attention. This story does that with ease.

T.S.'s story world is a severely different and more hostile place than any of us can really imagine, and perhaps even more unnerving is that what happens in the book to cause the end of the world may not be all that far from possible.

The story of surviving and maturing in such a cruel, unforgiving environment is told through the eyes of a young girl, Nada, the main character, who is enough parts vulnerable, enough parts wildly strong, and enough parts a slave to her own emotions that she is as realistic as any character could be. Not only does she have to deal with staying alive in harsh conditions, but she also has to go through the same mental and emotional development that any of us would, and that is where the real story is.

With supporting characters that you hate one moment and love the next, you'll be swept into the same scary dilemma that Nada endures: who should she trust? Who is lying? Who actually loves her and who is vying for her death?

Go ahead and try to guess while you're reading...and good luck with that. Welti's natural writing style will keep you reading and guessing and hoping and wondering until you feel as crazy as Nada feels, and then, just when you think you have it nailed...well, just read it.

By the way, don't bother buying the first book alone. Buy the trilogy. Trust me, you're got going to be able to not NEED the second one as soon as you read the last word of the first one.

The following review is my opinion and not a paid review.

Left Behind is the second book in the No Shelter trilogy and it picks up where the first book No Shelter left off. Nada, Daedric and their friends have barely escaped from the prison where the Gaurdians were holding Daedric's little sister. Nada's friend Isaac doesn't make it out with them. Nada feels guilt over leaving Isaac behind and decides that she is going back for him. Daedric and the rest of their tribe doesn't think that it is a good idea that it is too dangerous. But she doesn't care how dangerous it will be she can't leave anyone behind. She is going back for Isaac by herself but her friends won't let her.

In the first book Nada and Isaac were attracted to each other and shared the same sleeping bag. Then Nada found out somethings about Isaac and Mary that hurt Nada very much. Then while Nada and Daedric were going back to rescue Isaac from the prison Nada and Daedric developes feelings for one another.

Then out of the blue Isaac shows up with a very beautiful girl from the prison. Nada still has the same feelings for Isaac but now she is confused of how she really feels because she likes Daedric too. She is not sure either if she can trust Isaac anymore because he told her the Gaurdians just let them go. Nada is thinking in the back of her mind "why would they she just let them go for no reason?"

I can't decide which book I liked the best the first book in the No Shelter trilogy or the second book. They are both very good reads. I really don't know who to trust in the book. Should I trust Isaac? Or should I trust Daedric? I don't know with Isaac I can't believe that the Gaurdians just let him go like that. Daedric I just can't figure him out. I think Daedric is hiding something as well.

Left Outside is the second book in the No Shelter Trilogy by T.S. Welti.

I sincerely enjoyed it, perhaps not as much as the first novel, but it was definitely a good read. I particularly enjoyed the character progression and the moral messages that run throughout.

I like that the book portrays sex as something natural that young people are going to be inclined to want to investigate.

Once again, the book was spattered with a good few spelling/grammatical errors and word choice mistakes; unfortunately I noticed them a little more in this book because I wasn’t quite being dragged along like a runaway train this time, but still – the book was enjoyable. It won’t be putting me off in any way.

I’m enjoying Nada, the protagonist from whose perspective the story is told; she’s realistic. She fluctuates between being a strong female need and a little weak and needy, needing to be supported and loved by the men in her life. Realism, again. Nobody can be completely strong, all of the time. Those that pretend to aren’t kidding anybody. I also enjoyed realising that Issac isn’t quite the man you thought he was, and that Mary is basically just a mess, with abandonment and self-loathing issues. They’re a good mix of characters and I’m quite excited to see how the trilogy ends!

This is actually Kindle Version ASIN B008BJ91FM

I wanted to like this one more. I liked the main character. I like books about survival. But this became just a silly romance angst story sit in snow and blood. It was boring more than anything else. Even so, I have book 3 ready to go.

I buzzed right through the first in this series, and the second was just as good. You get to know the characters even more in the second novella and, again, I couldn't help but feeling just as torn as Nada through the books.

I do like the book I just dont like how Nada goes back and forth with the boys , how she forgives so easily , and how she doesn't really push to figure out Isaacs secrets.
