A season overflowing with anticipation, Christmas comes the same time each year with great hope and promise of a baby born long ago. But this season meant for joy is often consumed by busyness, pressure, mixed emotions, and is gone as quickly as it came. What is it all for? In this four-session study, pastor Louie Giglio reminds us that it’s in the richness of Advent—a season of expectant waiting and preparation—that we find our answer. And it is throughout this waiting season that we prepare our hearts to greet December 25th with joy, peace, hope, and refreshed promise in our newborn King. This study guide has everything you need for a full Bible study experience,

This is a lovely advent devotional with timeless prayers and thoughtful meditations. Each day is relatively short, fitting in a busy season. While aimed at a person who has a loved one on a cancer journey, this book appeals to anyone that feels weary and worn by the world. I do wish for the song lyrics that the audiobook had added a version that is sung after the reading.
Used this for an Advent Bible Study. Several of the participants really liked this study. I was more neutral. The theology was fine, and we had Lutherans, Roman Catholics, Nondenominationalists, and congregationalists in the study. I would have liked more focus on waiting for Jesus'return, an important theme in Advent. Also would have liked a more scriptural approach. Will look for an alternative next year.
It’s a great study- not everything in the bonus pages of each week was applicable to me personally, and I was hoping for little more in depth into scripture. But over all, this was a great study for the Advent season and seeing and hoping and knowing that God works in the waiting. The booklet that goes with this study was great and was a great way to add more devotional time.
I’m planning to use this with the college and career class at church this Advent season. It’s wonderful for any age. We are all guilty of turning our focus off the true meaning of Christmas. This study will help us remaining focused on the birth of Christ.
