My Father has a 1940 first edition of this book signed to my Grandfather by Matt Warner's grandaughter. (Got that?) My Grandfather knew Mr. Warner and his family due to working/living in Price Utah. I absolutely loved reading that book since it took me to many places I knew and visited while growing up and as a young adult in Utah/Idaho. That being said, it is a thoroughly exciting and enjoyable read. Those of my Boomer generation or anyone younger but interested in Utah/Cowboy/Butch Cassidy history will not be disappointed. (My husband has the "Revisited" and couldn't put it down until he'd finished the story.)

What an amazing book. Story after story, really well written. The locations are well described, the photos legit. To be a bandit in the late 1800's was really something.

Such a wonderful book. I can only find it on Amazon in digital form, but I recommend the revised paper addition that has more to the story. Great tale of robbery and adventure in the Oregon, Utah, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho area. Such a great lesson of crime not paying. A very sad but encouraging story. Some very good cowboy stories that will make you roll with laughter as well.

This book was thoroughly entertaining. He had a very interesting life, and it was fun to read it as a first person account.
