Toy soldiers, which were mass produced for more than 150 years, are extremely collectible. Now, the prestigious Forbes Galleries have opened their superb collection of toy soldiers for this stunning visual tour, featuring photographs and illustrations of some of the finest toy soldiers ever produced. The Forbes Galleries in New York City include exhibits of the fabled Fabergé Easter eggs and jewelry, toy boats, presidential manuscripts, fine art, and more than 10,000 soldiers of different styles and eras, made of solid lead, hollow cast metal, paper, composition, and other materials, beautifully displayed in dioramas.

Thin smaller coffee table style book. Very brief intro to the collection, toy soldiers and collecting. Pictures of large groupings were too small. I was disappointed there was no mention of the dioramas Forbes had hand-crafted, soldiers and all, for the museum in Tangiers, e.g., the Battle of the Three Kings in which a mixed European-Moroccan army was defeated by a Moroccan army, and the Portuguese King and two rival claimants to the Moroccan throne died as a consequence.
