Piichi and Marin <3 let’s boost up with king goose

So much action and fun in this volume. Gero finally fights the Beast Master but it leaves off at a cliffhanger! We also get a fun one shot of the hunter named Piichi and his girlfriend. We learned early on in the previous volume that he’s been killing to make the world better for the life he wants with Marin. He will do anything for her. Anyway, back to Gero and the Beast Master, they look to be pushing their limits and neither is backing down. The action is a lot of fun to read and look at that I’m anticipating the next volume. We also don’t know what’s happening to Arashiyama and what she was planning. Hopefully all goes well for her.

Gero, Piichi, and Kinsaki prepare to storm the home base of the Beast Master Clan to save Arashiyama. Kinsaki calls in a favor from the Water Master who joins Gero in his direct approach while Piichi and Kinsaki sneak in through a back door.

Everything is going well... until they reach the research lab where the head of the clan was and end up having to fight his 93 animal chimera.

But this fight will have to be concluded later, because the last chapter of this volume was a one-shot featuring Piichi and his fiancée. I have multiple concerns, but I'm glad these two are happy with each other at least.

There are some weaker parts of the plot here, but the art is pretty killer. Those shots of Piichi showing his wild mental process and running thoughts? All the animal 'spirits' and animal abilities? Yeah those are great! I don't much care for the actual villain here, or how the powerups work and all that, but it looks cool and embraces being a bit goofy so I enjoyed this volume.

Not my fave arc I'll be real. I wish Ushio got a bigger role in this team up, and Gero's motivations are getting repetitive (he doesn't have to announce that he wants to live a happy married life in eeeeevery fight...)

The pacing was slightly bothersome, but this was filled with lots of action and teamwork from everyone! Gero finally leveled up even more than I thought possible??
