This is the second of (no doubt) three volumes of the Spacetrawler trilogy. I say "no doubt" because as I write this the story is still being published on the website and appears to be reaching its conclusion soon. I helped with the Kickstarter campaign to get this book published and I'm so glad that I did.
Never before have I ever laughed so much with just joyous glee over the simple, sometimes subtle, humor found within this book. I can't say enough positive things about Christopher Baldwin's writing, humor, and artistic talent. This is an awesome book, one everyone should read. My highest recommendation is given.
Quick thoughts: This has gotten crazy good. Dark, philosophical plot lines expertly combined with heavy does of action and wonderful, dry humor. I'm still processing some major twists from this book and am very curious about how it all turns out in book 3.
More goofy fun aboard the I.A. Star Banger. I will say this: Baldwin is not shy about making his characters suffer mightily. And I find it endearing that Dimitri's exuberant sexuality is an actual plot point, not just an amusing character trait. I much prefer the jokes when they grow organically out of the characters and situations than when they're (often forced) one-liners and punch lines, but overall, this series continues to charm.
In book two of the Spacetrawler saga, the gang has split up. Each face various challenges to stay alive and free the Eebs. (Except Dustin. Dustin's too annoying to be killed and couldn't care less about the Eebs.) In the process, the secret of the Eebs is discovered and it turns out to be one more monkey wrench in the works....
