June 17, 2012Ok, this is not my day:( Another one of the DNF-kind. I'm at page 12 - again! - and can't take it anymore. It's developing into the PWP territory, with totally missing story-development. Yes, I'm getting picky that way. And yes, my wallet is weeping.

Hook, Line & Sinker is a m/m story. Although short, it is quite a passionate and intense read. Because of this we do not get an in-depth character background as such, however, the story is well written making Taz and Ridge come across very real and their feelings and actions very believable.
Taz, who is adorable, is struggling to keep his family's hunting and fishing business alive. His finances are a mess. So when Ridge the local hot shot business man books a week, outdoors in nature, to escape from his office, Taz wants to make sure Ridge has the perfect week. Not only for great advertisement of his business but for personal reasons too.
Ridge has been out fishing with Taz once before which left a great impression..on both of them. Neither knows how the other feels and for Taz this is quite a sweet and hot journey ;0)

Taz and Ridge met a few years back when Ridge and his family came to the Lake for a weekend escape. Taz immediately felt an attraction to Ridge but was unable to act on anything because Ridge was married, he was guest, and he was way out of his league. Two years later Ridge, now divorced books an exclusive week for some alone time at the resort. He was extremely attracted to Taz when he met him a few years ago and is hoping to get the chance to know him a lot better. Taz knows that it won’t be easy having Ridge and all his sexy-ness around for a week with just the two of them, but he needs the money that his stay will bring in and he isn’t going to do anything to screw it up. Ridge arrives and immediately starts flirting and making passes at Taz. It takes all of Taz’s control to remember the reasons why he can’t act on his feelings. The more time they spend together the harder it is to remember his objections and the easier it becomes to give into his desires.
Taz has known since he was a teenager that he was gay, but hasn’t had much experience with guys. Ridge is patient and extremely loving as he helps Taz experience all that he has been missing out on.
Ms. Wilde does a fantastic job writing steamy, passionate sex scenes. You can feel the emotion and desire that these two feel for each other. I also enjoy the easy way she spins a story. It has a very unique setting that I thought was perfect.
I know that this is a short book and you don’t get as much detail in them, but I really just felt like there was some plot building missing with this story. We didn’t get any personal background information on the characters and I really struggled connecting with either of them.
With that being said if you are looking for an easy, light read, short story with some very hot MM action, you will enjoy this

With this being a short book, it's a given that you don’t get as much detail. However, I really just felt like there was some plot building missing with this story. We didn’t get any personal background information on the characters and I really struggled connecting with either of them.
