Tyler Lincoln attends Glenstal Abbey, boarding school for the exceptionally wealthy with his best friends Josh Davenport and Rachel Carruthers. Naturally moody and pessimistic despite the wealth and esteem afforded him by his parents, Tyler is also hiding from the general public the secret romantic meetings he is having with school bad boy, apparent homophobe, and recently signed lead singer Conor Archibald. When Rachel sets him up with universal sweetie Jackson Smith, life becomes increasingly difficult for Tyler...

Not absolutely horrible but not really that great either. I didn't like any of the characters, main or secondary, and the story was what it was meant to be: a teenage love drama. Perhaps if I enjoyed YA books more maybe I would have appreciated it more. There are editing problems that are hard to overlook. Misspelled words, sentences running together, etc.
Overall, it is an okay story. Doubtful that I will be reading the sequel.
I love this book. Set in HS Tyler & Conor have a give and take relationship. But Conor is still in the closet and takes every given opportunity to bully Tyler in public. How the story develops, we need Jackson to complete the love triangle. Seeing Tyler and Jackson together sets something in motion inside Conor and is time to face the truth. Conor is your typical bad boy, but once he gets over the attitude he is one of the most adorable MCs I read in a while. What is amazing about this is that the book is free. So when I get to read this quality for free is an additional satisfaction. You will really enjoy not just Tyler & Conor's relationship but the secondary characters are great too! Specially Tyler's best friend Josh. Their dynamic is so funny, Josh is the best friend a boy can have.
After having read Maddy Linehan's other novel, The New Boy, I really wanted to read all her other works. Unfortunately, I'm one of the very few people in this world without a credit card, and I couldn't purchase this from smashwords, so I was very sad :( But then I created a paypal account a while back and now I could finally buy it! I was so happy I squealed.
Frustration reminded me a lot of Linehan's other novel, mainly because the narrator's voices were quite similar. There isn't much to say about the story other than it being a cute, if predictable romance. I'd recommend it.
I saw this book as a recommendation on smashwords while buying another book (Redemption by Olivia Duncan Craig) and decided to buy it also. It was a “you set the price” type of book so I could have gotten it for free but decided to pay for it. Cannot say I regret it. I’m well out of high school but the story of Tyler and closeted Conor was sweet, even if predictable all the way through and overall light. I’ve read greater books with the same theme but that does not detract from this story. Also a plus were Tyler friends, Josh and Rachel.
First off, this story was free, so it gets props for that. However, I accidently read the 2nd book first, then read this book... and I'm really glad I did, because if I'd read this book first, I'm not sure I would have bothered with the 2nd book, free or not. This book was a little lacking in plot and got boring a bit fast because it was too long for its plot. I would suggest the second book because it moves a bit better and has a better environment (aka a world tour, not a school). So! Read this one if you like, but definitely read the second book!
I ran into this book by mistake and decided last night when I couldn't sleep to just give it a try. I was up until 3 am finishing it. It was so funny I was surprised.
I love when I find a free read and enjoy it as much as I enjoyed this one!
