Eve is a vampire who is having a normal human life, she has a job she enjoy's and a new man in her life. However everything is turned upside down when an old lover tries to kill her and it dawns on them that a powerful vampire, her maker, wants Eve back and he'll make sure he returns to him.

I don't understand this story. The vampire part was fine, having vampires moving during the day is unusual but nothing too bad, then there was the other parts; the vampires aren't overly strong, Eve rarely drinks blood, they eat human food because they still get hungry (isn't that why they drink blood?) and finally they can get pregnant but it's a lot harder for women.
Basically the author hasn't tweaked the whole vampire ideal, but put it on it's head. Having vampire's able to use mirrors and the like is fine, nothing wrong with that, but having a human able to punch a vampire? What? Or having a bunch of human's able to fight off a group vampires? You can tweak the myth of vampires, but surely Meyers has taught everyone a lesson on why you shouldn't put a legend on it's head?

The character's were rather lifeless, Eve was irritating and her human lover Marc was just... He was able to deal with the fact that she is a vampire so easily? How and why?
There was too many character's that should have had more spot light given to them, like Eve's best friend, but they couldn't because this isn't a long story to tell, which is a bit of a shame really.

The climax happened rather quickly, although it was rather obvious what would happen at the end.

Overall it's a bad story that could easily be fixed and tweaked up a bit, but as it stands it's really not worth reading.

Okay, really good story and good thrills and action, but the end was abrupt and only mildly complete as one in a series. Some of the plot needed to be more drawn out and intense (You'll know what I mean when you get to the part).

Evie; former courtesan and now vampire since the mid 1500's who is now a veterinarian. Marcus, human and motorcycle mechanic who owns his own repair shop who is the current love interest of Evie for two months. (They met when he brought his injured dog in to be treated.) Antonio; vampire (ex-lover of Evie) who is the biological son of Dante. Dante; old and vampire "king" of the vampires who "created" Evie when she had the plague and was on her deathbed in the mid 1500's.

Basically, Antonio comes to warn Evie that Dante is hunting her down to get her back and that she needs to leave...now. Against her better judgement, she does and then something happens and she returns. Read the book to find out what happens next.

This was a fast, fun read. I liked the characters and want to see what happens next. On the other hand, it's great that you can read this book on its own, too. The portrayal of vampires was interesting. I've seen many ways of following or debunking the lore, but haven't read too many that have the main vampire passing for human so much or the mixing of vampire blood being a problem. I did enjoy who ended up saving the day though! Hope to read more.

This was a pretty good story, although it could have been longer.
Some people were down on the changes the author made with her version of vampires. I look at it like this; they are myths and legends and if you can tell a good story that people like, you do your version if it makes you happy.
I thought this was pretty good and I am going to read the second one.

Vampire Eve has long forgotten her courtesan life. She is happy in her career as a veterinarian, friends and the new man in her life. Her world will be shattered when her past catches up with her present. This story leads you down a path of twist and turns and the future of Eve is uncertain.

A rather different take on the usual vampire romance story - it was refreshing to read.

Great plot, characters and descriptions, I could really "see" in my head how the whole tale was playing out.

I'll be obtaining the sequels at some point.

Overall a brilliant book that I would recommend!!

Good read

Vampire’s Eve was a good read. It deals mildly with vamp politics, mild BDSM, and vamp/human relationships. Wasn’t a great story, but a nice quick easy read if your looking for that type of book.

Another book that has some really good star ratings and reviews but just didn't do it for me.

Eve is a vampire from the 1500's who doesn't drink a lot of blood but is able to keep her supply in her fridge so long as she labels it 'DIET'. She was kept imprisoned for 200 years by Mr Evil Vampire but managed to escape during the riots of Versailles. She is now a vet and managed to save her now boyfriend's dog one late stormy night!

Marcus (the boyfriend) is a young man in his twenties who owns and runs a motorcycle repair shop and lives above it. Has a dog! Accepts pretty much everything far too easily but is supposed to have a temper.

Antonio (old lover, also vampire) turns out to be the son of Mr Evil Vampire. Still loves Eve and wants her back. Thinks that arguing with Marcus is more important than maybe trying to escape from Mr Evil Vampire.

So there you go, full synopsis of the storyline. Add a few tweaks here and there. Could have been good, lots of others have thought so but just 'OK' for me.

Vampire’s Eve is a fun read. There’s action, romance, cute guys to fall in love with, bad guys to hate, the main heroine is real enough to sympathize with and worry about when she does risky things. And these are the stereotypical vampires (think Anne Rice vampires rather than the sparkly, melodramatic Twilight vampires who like going to high school for hundreds of years, though Antonio does share Edward’s knack for sneaking silently into places). Everything felt very typical vampire fare with nothing all that remarkable about it and no real deep emotional seeking, and it did remind me a bit of Twilight in that it had the heroine dithering between the two boyfriends. In all, if you’re looking for light vampire fare with some sexy scenes, this is for you.

This was a good read and I probably will read the next in the series. My main complaint is that it was too short. I was "told" a story rather than being "shown" a story. The characters were not detailed nor were their surroundings. I could write - the bird's noise from outside was bothering me. Or I could write - Through the frosted pane I heard the bird chirping. Leaving the cozy haven of my lavender coverlet I approached the window and caught the bright red of the male cardinal whose song was distracting me from my studies. Just a quick comparison of saying the same thing. The first tells, the 2nd shows.

2.5 stars.
Not a bad little book for one that's free, self-published through Amazon. Pretty short. Writing isn't terrible, but a little bit clunky. Mentions BDSM a few times, but doesn't go there at all, not really. Even the vanilla sex scenes aren't described in any detail. Plot is OK. This is the start of a series; the ending is somewhat, but not altogether, conclusive. The others in the series are available in the Amazon Prime Lending Library. Not sure if these are good enough to continue.

It was a pretty good storyline, but the editing wasn't great. Several times I found words wrong or missing. As for the story, at times it felt like it was rushed. The action and storyline wasn't bad, though. Overall, a three star book...not bad for a free one. Not sure if I'm interested enough to get the next two books yet.

the beginning was a little slow and choppy. There were also no clear breaks like chapters, just extra spaces between certain paragraphs.
