Princess Bitch: The Sassy Guide to Relationships, Power, and Success (Leigh, 2012,Amazon) is a guide for women to become more empowered in their personal lives, relationships, and careers.

Leigh offers advice from her career in the field of health and wellness. Having spent the majority of her career working with women of all walks of life, Leigh is able to bring a vibrant and real voice to the concerns of women who want something, or rather, everything! Princess Bitch touches on some principles of wellness found in many psychological and wellness approaches, but does so in a way that eliminates the need for a dictionary or psychiatrist, speaking honestly to women.

Something that is so interesting about this book is the way it takes terms that often seem derogatory toward women (hello, the title is Princess Bitch!) and uses these words as forms of empowerment for women. Although written in a familiar tone, the use of normally pejorative terminology invites women to consider these words, and others, in the context of feminism and society as they relate to the acquisition and use of power. Princess Bitch does not ask women to give up their generous nature in favor of an axe-wielding one, but instead reminds women that they are an important part of their own lives. Yes, very often, women forget that they are important in their own lives! Princess Bitch simply reminds women that, to be who we want to be, we must first be good to ourselves. Not a bad lesson, and other important lessons for women follow this one in the book.

Overall, the book is a quick, easy read, but a book that women will (hopefully) find themselves revisiting, as the worksheets and questionnaires are worthy of more thought and writing space than can be provided in the printed or electronic versions of the book. Princess Bitch is a book that invites high-level philosophical thought about the self while staying at a level that is funny and pleasurable to read. Well worth the price of asking "Can I, too, be a Princess Bitch?"

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review so here goes..(I have never written a review before so please bare with me)

First of all loving the title "Princess Bitch" and what it stands for in the book.
It is a fast read which is why to get the full effect of the book you need to write in the parts outlined and spend some time to try out the different methods listed. Overall this is a hard book to give a review because not everyone approaches things in a smiilar matter, so while some will be confident and excited to try out the ideas others will be nervous and hesitant.
I believe that to the right audience this will be a great tiral and error sort of guide, for example those of you who have a unique/spunky personality and wish to regain control of your life I definitely recommend this.
I personally would not pick this up if I saw it in a store because it is not my usual genre I read, but it was refreshing to try something different. Although I did have fun with this book I don't think most of the things suggested would have worked for me.

Thanks so much for the giveaway though it may not have gotten through to me as it will others,I know someone who this will be perfect for:)

I wish you all the best!!
Sincerely,Faith

Fear: to be afraid or apprehensive.

How many times have we missed an opportunity, held our tongue, or felt powerless because of that four letter word: FEAR. It’s time to put things in perspective, ladies, and let our inner princess out of her tower. Princess Bitch is here to remind us that “personal empowerment is not selfish.”

Power: the capacity to do something!!!

…and you already are. By reading this book you are taking the first step to reminding yourself that the power has always been yours; now, it’s just time to learn to use it.

I would highly recommend this book to EVERY woman, because we all need a reminder from time to time that the only limitation are those we impose on ourselves.
