These books really need to be read in order to totally get the story. Since I had already read a later book I knew what would happen with all the projects and mysteries of the story, also in this book they talk about Shelley’s knee hurting but if you hadn’t read the book before you would have no idea why. In this book Shelley is finally getting her commercial kitchen built, her husband loses his job and they all work to get money to restore the old First church. They find some letters from the 1800’s and work hard to figure out what they say.
Once again, the four friends are working together. This time it is to raise money for Old First Church. It desperately needs repairs before the historic church is beyond repair. So Beverly and Diane spearhead a fund raising campaign that runs into all sorts of bumps along the way as well as a ringing bell that no one even the pastor believes is in the church.
This book just didn't draw me in as well as some of the others in the series have. It was enjoyable, but not one of the best in the series.
Once again, Melody Carlson does not disappoint. The plot of friendship is so important especially in our ever changing world of technology. We need to connect with our friends!
