In the eye of a hurricane known as Fester, something lurks. What it is, or how it happened, no one knows for sure, especially for the citizens of Pointville, Alabama. But it happened, and no one dares go into the storm, save for one man.
I liked the author's style and voice in this something bad is happening after a devastating hurricane strikes. The hurricane's chosen name, Fester, struck me as more funny than scary. Was this playing homage to The Addams Family? It was a tough challenge for the author to try and tackle a story with so much depth in so few words and I think more words were necessary to pull this off. There were sections where I would love to have read, been shown instead of told, more of what happened. . The ending line is very good.
A well written short story with good pacing. I enjoyed it quite a bit, except that the ending left me a little unsatisfied. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but for me, it just kind of ended without warning.
