For about half a day I thought I’d give this series a rest and read something else in between.

And it’s a compliment that the books are vivid enough that I have no fear that I’d forget something or someone if I did.

But this book occupies two of my reading time slots and I like it in both.

This book starts with plenty of surprises, some I can’t mention for fear of spoiling things 2 books back!

But Pennington and T’Prynn becoming frenemies is a fun surprise.

There’s other characters whose appearance is surprising. Some new from this series and some classic Star Trek characters from the original series.

To say anything further would spoil it, but I’m enjoying this book and the stakes have gone even higher!

”I ain’t in Starfleet.” He picked up a rifle. “So fuck the Prime Directive.”

Which is a cool line, but once again, they’ve gotten the Prime Directive wrong and it doesn’t apply in this case.

I don’t want to give away the best lines and the plot is definitely thickening.

The Klingons have stolen to super-powerful planet destroying artifact that may contain the god-like alien inside it. So there have been some setbacks…

Stayed up late last night reading 5 chapters! I couldn’t put it down!

A terrific book, the series just keeps getting better! 5 stars and I’ve already started the next one!
