I have a weird compulsion to always finish books that I start no matter how bad they are which is the absolute only reason I finished this book.
This book is a collection of stories from a myriad of random women and a lot of anecdotes from the author's life. They are grouped into different categories like work, men, friendships, body image, etc. The positives of the book were the solid organization of the topics and the occasional recipe here and there. But the horrible marriage advice, the bizarre acrostics at every turn, and the overall needy, confused tone of the author far outweighed the few positives.

Not great but it filled a need - “ at midlife I’m having to recognize that there are people I may never be reconciled with, people I loved dearly but we went as far as we could go together. We loved; we tried; that may have to be enough “

Unreal. I started reading this book and the authors background , her "always positive and upbeat mother, is just NOT most mothers. I feel she is a naturally positive upbeat person n the book was more of a "haha look how lucky i am...this book offered nothing new or informative, other than learning that some people (the author) view Oprah as a saint.

Okay, in all honesty I'm not 100% sure what to rate this book since I have literally been reading it for years! It has been in my bathroom as the emergency reading material!! This book is full of short essays and quotes which made it perfect to play this role.

This book reminded me of Chicken Soup for the Soul. It has cute stories and quotes from famous and non-famous women. Even though this book doesn't require much thought, I still enjoyed it.
