An unexpectedly dense little book to chew through. I thought Knox did an incredible job reflecting on aspects like God's sovereignty and adding in observations that changed how I saw day to day living. For example, he points out the simple but profound truth that God can and does use everything in a believer's life for His purposes. That means the lack of rain I experienced on the way to the train station is God intentionally ordering His creation for my good.

I don't know if I agreed with everything he said though. I found, in particular, that his explanation of God's sovereignty and our free will was confusing and seemed, at times, to suggest that we are concurrently and fully responsible for our continued faith as God is. Not sure I agree with that.

As Tony Payne writes in the intro, the book is easy to understand but not a quick read. Best digested half a chapter at a time over a cup of tea, followed by a long walk to ponder. Very worthwhile, especially for those who want to know more about:
- the infallibility of Scripture
- God's eternal, omnipresent nature
- How Jesus can be both fully hjman and fully divine
- the Trinity
- Predestination

It was my first time reading a work by this Author. I read through it with one my church elders over a period of months. Knox certainly is a thinker who brings out implications of deep truths, which I appreciate. I enjoy his take on various attributes of God. There were certain statements in the book which I questioned or disagreed with, but overall, it was a worthwhile read with some pearls in here.

3.5 stars. Lots of good things regarding the basic Christian understanding of God, but, being taken from a lecture series, it doesn't excel in readability.

Knox's classic title on the nature and Character of God. An encouraging read. I didn't know whether to expect it to be 'technical' or not, but it turned out to be a very approachable book. Well worth a read
