Developed for those with no prior exposure to the field, this primer is an authoritative yet accessible introduction to the brain and its functions. Written by a leading neuroscientist, Thompson provides a basic overview of brain anatomy and physiology from molecules to the mind in a concise, readable format which sparkles with the author's hands on experience with brain research.
The book was written by my graduate school advisor Prof. Richard F. Thompson. He was an expert writer so that the book was extremely easy to read for anyone. Highly recommended for everyone.
I think that overall, this was an outstanding book that did a fantastic job at covering all of the bases when it comes to understanding the brain and how it works. Not many concepts went over my head, but I loved the book so much that I would read it again to try and understand them. All in all, this is a great book for anyone who finds physiology, anatomy, organic chemistry, or psychology interesting, as this book covers all of those concepts wonderfully.
