Second Most Fun Review Written in 2019 Award

This is my contribution to the 2019 Goodreads Romance Week.

Well this little book had a lot of potential. This could have been a very good suburban middle-class MMF piece of erotica or if drawn out and filled in (so to speak) a respectable piece of menage romance but unfortunately it is neither.

Becca has always been extremely turned on by mano-a-mano sex and she catches her husband Elliot making out with an old flame who happens to be a very handsome lad named Adam. Push comes to shove and these two delectable dudes put on a show that leave her a soppy mess. To her pleasant surprise she is invited in to join in for rounds two, three and four.

There is enough here to make this a highly charged erotic adventure except:

-it is too short ( the novella...i mean;)
-dialogue is clunky and often very unsexy
-very little romance which have added appeal to this sex triangle
-characters are extremely underdeveloped but rather more like barbie and ken dolls that are anatomically correct
-the sex scenes are more pornographic than erotic and really not very titilating

A bonus half star though for the exploration of female voyeurism and male heteroflexibility (more than bisexuality really)

Five-year married couple Becca and Elliot's sex life has gotten a little stale. When Becca comes across her husband being propositioned by a very attractive college friend of his, Adam, instead of having a fit, she wants to learn more and is excited by thinking about her husband and Adam. More of Elliot's past prior to meeting her comes to light and she suggests that Elliot invite Adam into their bedroom.

One hot number, wish it had been longer.

Becca accidentally stumbles onto her husband Elliot kissing another man while attending a wedding. Instead of being overwhelmed by hurt and jealousy, she finds herself having a hard time getting the thought of the two men together out of her mind. Before long she suggests Elliot invite Adam to do more than kiss him as long as she gets to watch. This was a quick steamy read that had an ending that left me immensely pleased. Here's hoping these three can get a second novella or longer book one day!

I'm always curious about these mmf stories. I like how Becca turned the tables with Elliot and his former lover Adam. They never expected her reaction hahaha!

A perfect example of how not to write erotica. The style of writing is distancing, overly formal - bordering on pretentious, coupled with jarring off putting crudeness. This is a writer who managed to use both "desirous" and "yearning clit" in the same story. The only other times I've come across writing like this in a contemporary work is when the tone is intended to be wry. On top of that the object of both character's lust - Adam - is utterly unlikable. He is introduced on the first page refusing to take "no" for an answer from a married man. Adam is intent on convincing the other man to sneak away from the wedding reception they are attending for a quickie in the bathroom and not even the sudden appearance of the wife in question is enough to put a stop to his efforts. At this point I had very little interest in following Adam, anywhere, much less the bedroom. But because the premise of the story was appealing, I slogged on, then started skimming. It was no use. The whole thing was so distasteful I gave up.
