The Knight of Death is forced into a secret alliance with Abaddon, the Destroyer in his quest to rid the world of the Great and Horrible Queen of Babylon. Though the plan is a good one, the timing is terrible. The entire world is threatened with destruction from above as an errant celestial body takes aim at earth. Mark's mortal doppelganger places himself in grave danger attempting to divert the worldwide disaster from harming his precious Sophia. Meanwhile, the rest of the Order and half the remaining powers in the world are disagreeing loudly about what should be done with the Ark of the Covenant. On top of everything, an unscrupulous Vatican official is working a plan which will place him at the top of the Papal See and give him the power he craves to rule the world from Rome. Lemarik uses an Old Testament method for defeating the impending flood, the angelic warriors release their human comrades into even worse danger, the Tuathan healer lands in a world of trouble and even Abaddon cannot escape a terrible fate when he tries to befriend the Queen Mother in her lair.
Brendan Carroll is the pen name for Brenda Carol Eaves who started writing books in the 80s. She wrote under a pen name because, at the time her series began, men dominated the genres of action/adventure, SciFi and lore. Having started a long series under a pen name is was almost impossible to change horses in mid-stream. Since 2016 many major life changes have overtaken and profoundly redirected her life's course. For six years, she has been unable to write anything new or work on previous novels. The exhausting work and time to promote her books was simply out of the question. But as life surely changes, so has Brendan Carroll's (aka Brenda Carol Eaves) life. She grew up in Southeast Texas and still considers Texas home, but has recently lived in Maine and Virginia. Her interests have changed, but her love for her characters and her imaginary world she invented for them has not subsided. With more time on her hands after retirement and several close family members' deaths, she now has the luxury to immerse herself into her beloved writing hobby. In retrospect, she is sad to realize that her books were never really edited or properly marketed. Even though she still cannot afford professional help, what she has learned from trial and error and self-study has improved her ability to write better books immensely. With that in mind, she has decided to rework her entire book portfolio and release it again with new titles, new covers and much more critical edits than ever before. She is hoping to garner new fans, reconnect with old friends and fans and carry on as an Indie Writer until she can no longer raise a typing finger in this world. Thank you for reading.
Fantastic read and the saga continues. Mark Andrew continues to mystify me (being split into different individuals is a bit confusing) as do the other characters in this book. I have to say that the most "evolved" character is Selwig, and I am very impressed (I really like the little Tuathan Healer) :o) Some things are made clearer in The Centaur, while other things leave more questions. Still, all in all, a great story. Now the wait for Book XXIX is upon us. I think once the series is complete, I will read from the first book all the way through to the end to pull it all together in my head. If you haven't read this series yet, and enjoy fantasy, romance, and science fiction, along with a fascinating interpretation of a mix of religions thrown in, you don't know WHAT you are MISSING!
