This was apparently my second time through this book. I didn't realize that until close to the end when I found a note from it that I'd put in my scriptures. I only added a couple more notes. It was nice, but I was also reading the New Testament Study Guide by Thomas Valletta and the New Testament Student manual put out by the church. Both of those two things gave me much better insight into the scriptures.
This isn't a book to read on its own, but is a great companionship book to read alongside the Bible. It is full of very interesting historical information and clarifies confusing verses. It really helped me understand, appreciate, and enjoy the last half of the New Testament.
I just started this book and so far it is really quite interesting. The historical data is so vital to understanding a lot of scripture and this book does a great job in putting things into perspective.
