Changampuzha Krishna Pillai (ചങ്ങമ്പുഴ കൃഷ്ണപിള്ള) (11 October 1911 – 17 June 1948) was a celebrated Malayalam poet from Kerala, India, known for his romantic elegy Ramanan (Malayalam: രമണന്‍) which was written in 1936 and sold over 100,000 copies. It is a long pastoral elegy, a play writtern in the form of verse, allegedly based on the life of Changampuzha's friend Edappally Raghavan Pillai. This has also been converted into a movie in 1967. He is credited with bringing poetry to the masses with his simple romantic style. He died of Tuberculosis at a young age of 36. His style influenced the next few generations of Malayalam poetry, notable among them was Vayalar Ramavarma, famous Malayalam lyricist.

Casual relationships ൻ്റെ അതിപ്രസരത വളർന്നു വരുന്ന ഇന്നത്തെ കാലത്ത് ശുദ്ധ പ്രണയത്തിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്ന നിഷ്കളങ്കരായ മനുഷ്യർക്ക് ഒരു മുന്നറിയിപ്പ് എന്ന പോലെ ഈ കൃതിയെ കാണാം. മനുഷ്യ മനസ്സുകൾ എത്ര നിസ്സാരമായിട്ടാണ് മാറുന്നത് എന്നും അതുപോലെ മാറുന്ന ഒരു മനസ്സ് സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്ന പാതയും ഈ കൃതിയിൽ നമുക്ക് കാണാം.

ഒരു മനുഷ്യജീവിതത്തിൽ അനേകം നല്ല ബന്ധങ്ങൾ നിലനിർത്തണ്ടതിൻ്റെ ആവശ്യവും ഒരു ബന്ധത്തിൽ ആഴ്ന്നിറങ്ങി അതു നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടാൽ അവനുണ്ടാകുന്ന ഭയാനകമായ അവസ്ഥകളും ഈ കൃതി നമ്മെ കാട്ടി തരുന്നുണ്ട്.

"കാനന ചാലയിൽ ആട് മേയ്ക്കാൻ ഞാനും വരട്ടെയോ നിൻ്റെ കൂടെ" എന്നുള്ളത് മാത്രം കുട്ടികളെ പഠിപ്പിച്ച് നിർത്താതെ അവർ വായിച്ചു മനസിലാക്കേണ്ടത് അവസാന ഭാഗത്തെ മദനൻ്റെ രോദനം ആണ്

മലയാളത്തിലെ പ്രണയകാവ്യങ്ങളില്‍ രമണന്‍ പോലെ മനോഹരമായ മറ്റൊരു കൃതി ഉണ്ടോ എന്ന് തന്നെ സംശയമാണ് .പ്രണയത്തിന്റെ തീവ്രതയും അത് നഷ്ടപ്പെടുമ്പോള്‍ ഉണ്ടാകുന്ന മാനസിക സംഘര്‍ഷങ്ങളെയും അതി മനോഹരമായി ചിത്രീകരിക്കുവാന്‍ ചങ്ങമ്പുഴക്ക് കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടുണ്ട്.ചങ്ങമ്പുഴ കവിതകള്‍ ഇന്നും മലയാളികള്‍ നെഞ്ചോടു ചേര്‍ക്കുന്നു.
