Rate this book
Julia has been ripped from the escape she'd planned for herself. When she awakens to discover that her reality has shifted to include a supposed soul-meld with a man she hates... and who hates her, she rebels. Julia doesn't want to be Queen of the Blood Singers if it means captivity in a gilded cage.

Broken from the horrific events surrounding her friends, Cynthia migrates to the very city that Julia resides in and determines to find her as the police follow the bread crumbs she left in her wake. Detective Truman's discovery at her apartment exposed her departure for the escape it was.

The Feral has come full circle and must begin a new life from the shadow of the old. His placement in the hierarchy of the pack is uncertain when he finds that he has an integral enemy already in place and a pack member to protect. While he desperately seeks answers to what had been... what could be.

Can the vestiges of Julia's former life be restored so she might reunite with her one true love or has that door closed forever because of supernatural circumstances beyond their control?

:( this is a clusterf of epic proportions. I still finished, because like a car wreck, u have to watch. Uh. Scott- what a baby. There is one scene that is worth the book and instead of run with it, they cut it out like nothing. It jumps around everywhere with tons of little bits of this and that with barely a Wiff of structure. Idk. It is like a young teen's idea of what a steamy, dark, love octagon would look like in a ya dime store paperback romance novel. Except without an sex scenes. ?! I think the ideal reader for this is about 14.

Three super natural groups want Julia. Each group believes that Julia Caldwell is the key to unlocking their prophesies of old. The vampires think she will make them day walkers. The werewolves believe Julia will make them moonless changers and the Blood Singers believe she is their prophesized queen of unlimited gifts.

She has just awoken from a horrible attack by the feral and finds herself once again in the possession of the man who believes they are bonded mates. Even though they are suppose to be bonded mates, Scott and Julia both rail against the bond. Julia’s life seems to be beyond her control. Everyone wants her and will stop at nothing to have her, regardless of how Julia feels about it.

Cynthia, Jules best friend, is torn up by the events she witnessed and the night time werewolf visits. In an attempt to escape, unbeknown to Cynthia, she runs to the same city Julia has been dwelling, Kent. Detective Truman has also followed Cynthia to Kent and soon discovers that Julia has also made an appearance. But what neither Cynthia nor Detective Truman realize is they are being hunted as well.

Once again Tamara, you amaze me. Your imagination is copious and your creativity astounds! Blood Song immediately captures your mind and heart...then you are plunged right into a new world of Mrs. Blodgett’s construction. Julia is a fabulous heroin, showing great strength of character facing all her adversities. Quite honestly, all the characters are magnificent…some you will love and a few you will love to hate. Quoting Lori P, Tony is definitely a “wanker” among other things, definitely a love to hate characters :D. Lots of action, a perfect amount of the witty banter we come to love from Blodgett, romance, and heart ache...what else could we ask for? I absolutely loved this book and didn’t want it to end. Another book to add to the Favorite Shelf from Tamara Rose Blodgett and a definite 5 star rating from me!

This ARC copy of Blood Song was given to me by Tamara Rose Blodgett. I have written my honest review.

I read this twice! This author has just the right touch of snark, attitude and a fantastic imagination bringing her characters to life! You learn to love 'em or hate 'em and feel that you may actually see them on the street!

There are three paranormal factions who want Julia as part of an unfulfilled prophecy, putting Julia on the run.

There is so much depth to this book, it never stops coming at you like a freight train, I loved it! Once again, the author hits one outta the park!

Blood Song started out from where book 1 ended. There where new twist and adventures making it interesting. The book was a little slower to start but, the story makes up for it because it's such an intriguing read.

Julia begins to face reality of her new life. She longs for her old life and doesn't want to deal with the supernatural crap she feels that it's pushed on her and she has to make choices she's not wanting to make.

The twist and turns brings in new danger and new characters giving it a more intriguing story. The characters start to evolve and show their abilities and true colors. Wow some of these twist are a true shocker! I was on the edge of my seat!

What do you have in store for me next? Can we say cliffhanger! Apparently Tamara likes to leave you on one hell of a cliffhanger! I can't wait to dig into the next book. Watch out you will not be able to put it down! So, be prepared for a rocky, wild ride that will blow your mind and give you one hell of a cliffhanger!

Its prodigious, adventurous, exciting, yet devilishly wonderful! A must read so keep your lamp on! ~ Nook Books and More Blog

This book picks up where the last one left off Julia is suffering the effects of the stagnant water she consumed and the fact that not only is Jason alive he's a werewolf and he just tried to kill her.
Julia doesn't want to be queen and she certainly doesn't want to be soul-melded with Scott, she just wants to escape. Jason is regretting what he did and wants Julia back, William is determined to get Julia even if he has to go it alone, Cynthia is on the run but after making a remarkable discovery Detective Truman is on Cynthia's trail.
I could go on and on about this book its just incredible, so incredible I read it in one sitting, it's now 1:30am but I've promised myself I'm not starting the next book 'Blood Chosen' until morning otherwise I'll be up all night.
While the story completely held me I really liked the way it was told, the different POV enabled us to follow the progress of the characters as all the players play their parts and everything comes together.

A queen to unite all with her blood 5 RED STARS

She will be bound by fang, claw and blood, the kiss of the moon on high against where she lays to sleep. The queen shall bear the mark of the peacekeeping Singer....Your blood calls to us. It sings to us. We follow it like a melody on the wind. All roads lead to the Blood Singer. This girl. The Blood Singer from the Book of Blood. The Rare One. In the absence of hope, darkness bloomed like a black orchid.

Since this is the first time I have read this series, I am reviewing it as a whole (books 1-8), rather than each book. WOW! What a truly FANTASTIC series!!! This series is my soap opera, in all the best, juciest ways! So addicted! Need to know what’s happening and NOW! :) I was thoroughly addicted, caught in its grip, unable to put it down! I love, Love, LOVE how Tamara Rose Blodgett weaves such an intricate story complete with love, heartbreak, heartache, passion, friendship, enemies, lovers, allies and oh so much more all while seamlessly integrating so many characters to love & hate (sometimes both!) who belong to any one (or more!) of numerous species but done in a way to keep the reader engaged and following along, incorporating them without even realizing just how many people you now know & follow! It’s in depth in all the right places & ways and has such deep, dark passionate tones, as well as the lighter, happier sides too, that are all brought together so perfectly to make one helluva unique and creative series! I am blown away by the multitude of species and their abilities both as a whole, as well as what each individual is capable of! Each and every aspect & piece of the story brings layer upon layer of enrichment from complex characters, scenery, flow of the storytelling to the compelling storylines! Love the vernacular, quips, quotes & wording that fits for each character and/or species, meaning that the teens or "young'ins" speak & act as they should, while the "old" ones speak as they should, which adds an even deeper layer of "realism" to the story & characters. It was so hard to figure out the "good guys" from the "bad guys", (which is a great thing!) but what chafed me the most is falling for one that I was so sure was worthy of my adoration, then finding out he is total scum!! LOL But that is why I love, Love, LOVE Tamara's books! Her ability to write & create such deeply enriched books that capture my attention, drawing me in so deep that it feels like I am living the story, being surprised by every twist & turn that I never saw coming, really meeting & becoming friends (or enemies) with the multifaceted characters, becoming said characters, seeing every single bit of it in my mind’s eye, time after time, book after book, series after series, no matter the genre, is proof of just how phenomenally talented and exceptionally gifted Tamara Rose Blodgett truly is and why she is one of my absolutely favorite authors to read & binge read!!

Hard one to get thru

I like it, but it had a hard time keeping me reading. This is one of those books that you have to force yourself to keep going because it will get better. It was the constant character changes during narration that I struggled with. Maybe it's my ADHD, but the flip flopping from character to character made it hard to stay focused on what was going on. Would be better as a TV show maybe, I can't imagine listening to an audible of this book being an easy task either. We will see what the next one brings.

Good

Blood Song is a thrilling ride that left me breathless! As Julia and Scott's love story unfolds, the tension between werewolves and vampires reaches a boiling point. I loved watching Julia's Rare Singer abilities grow stronger, and Scott's unwavering devotion to her is swoon-worthy. The way the author weaves together the supernatural world, politics, and romanIce is masterful. While some plot threads felt a bit rushed, the emotional payoff between Julia and Scott made it worth it. Can't wait for the next installment in The Blood Series!

I was disappointed with the second book. The police procedural part of the story was a major letdown, and the rest of the story line didn't flow as well as the first book. This was still a fun read, and if you are looking for a new take on the were/vampire story, this could be just what you're looking for.

Jason

The author makes you have feelings for Jason and William but not Scott. Those three make up the trifecta that will help save them all. Scott's a turd booo booo. Will have to read how Victoria and the many other characters ensemble make out. Almost too many to keep up with and keep straight.

Great series

I read all seven books back to back - now I wish I didn't have to wait until next year to see how it all ends. They're are so many different things going on. It'll be hard to remember it all!

If you like werewolves, vampires, angel-enhanced humans with powers, demonic, angelics, and fae, this series is for you.

Did you read that synopsis? Did you? Because it’s amazing. I love how Blodgett is able to create different stories that continuously evolve within her novels, all destined to meet at the climactic point of the story, intertwining it all together and leaving the reader breathless. While they seem removed from one another, the story breaking from one character’s plight to the next, Blodgett always brings it together so seamlessly and I absolutely love her books. Especially this one. With Julia working hard to remain in control and choose her own path, Cynthia wandering the streets, hiding from the weres and looking for her best friend, Jason attempting to get back his mate, and Scott attempting to ignore his bond, the novel unfolds impossibly fast, whisking the reader away on a supernatural ride that is sure to please.

In this novel, three supernatural groups take the forefront and Blodgett does a phenomenal job making them extremely real. The weres, lacking females and a softer side, are intent on mating with Julia as they believe the bond will allow them to shift without the need of the moon. Likewise, the meek, though duty bound Blood Singers believe Julia to be the Queen they have waiting a millennia for, highly gifted and meant to bond with one of their Blood Singers to strengthen her powers and awaken as their protector against those who would harm them. And the vampires, dangerous in their own right, especially to one another, believe Julia will allow them to live amongst the daylight, no longer forced to walk the earth at night. Of all these groups, I find the Blood Singers to be the most interesting, not only because Julia is one of them, but because it’s a completely unique paranormal group with extraordinary powers that readers won’t find in most novels.

Julia, of course, is still my favorite. I love her strong personality and will power, attempting to do what is right, but also remain true to herself. I can’t imagine being told that I was bonded with a certain person and that was it, even if I did have a strong pull towards them, and I love that Blodgett keeps the reader guessing who Julia will end up with throughout the entire novel: William, the kind, compassionate vampire that shares her blood and truly cares for her… Jason, her husband turned feral by the unforgiving weres, or Scott, her destined mate according to the Blood singers… only time will tell

It is great how this book picks up where the first one left off. I must say that there were so many hotties coming out of the wood work, I understand Julia completely. William, Jason, Scott, Victor, the other Singer Warriors. Manny, Tony; the list goes on and on. Each character had a purpose. Each one played a part. What I loved the most about this world that Tamara hath wielded is that none of the characters in it were wall fixtures. This is what I use to describe a character in a story along side the hero or heroine that is introduce in a few lines, but is always there, but not really. Just to fill space and to decorate. I can't stand those. To me if that is all they are there for, why in the world introduce 'em? Am I right? Anywho. . . :) glad to say that none of them were wall fixtures. Cynthia's boyfriend, could have been, but he died in the first book, so no he wasn't. Even the friggin' bus driver Alfred served his purposes. As well as the lady from the women's shelter. Yep, not a one wall fixture. For that I say "You did good!!" to Tamara :)

Authors/writers that cover all their corners, dot all their i's an cross all their t's are the ones that really leave no one hanging on the wall like fixtures. Creates them and follow's through with each and every single character, characteristics, mannerisims, sayings, attitudes, wardrobe, etcetera. Everything that is that character is front and center. I loved this the most of this book. From the Kiss Coven's leader and followers to the betraying coven's leader an followers. Each wolf pack involved and even the APD officers involved. I just couldn't get enough. The fact that I can remember every single character within the book, not just the main ones, saids a lot of the details within the book. If it weren't for how good the story is, I would recommend this book, solely on the factor of details.

Awesome, just awesome. Felt what they all felt, frustration, relief, what the fucked up-ness, I mean all of it!!! I recommend this book, go read it. Can't wait for the next one :)

Man the outcome is what it is and yet William nor Jason are giving up! Really?! I also can't wait to follow up on Adi and Cyn and they are some funny ass chics I will tell ya!!

What a Beginning - But WOW What An Ending - This Series is Really Hotting Up!!!

Blood Song is just as gripping, if not more than Blood Singers, which was the first Novel in this so far Amazing Series. Novel 2 in the Series, Julia's story just keeps getting better and better but at the same time more complicated with more factions willing to fight for her - kidnappings, fights to the death, shocking truths uncovered that will change Julia's outlook on what's to come and how her story is to unfold... Who is she to choose? Is the Vampire William trustworthy after his kidnapping of her in the last Novel? Will Tony come after her and succeed? Just what is Scott's role in everything and is she attracted to him after her damming heartbreak over her short lived marriage to husband Jason? And most Importantly what is she to do now that she knows Jason is still alive but tried to kill her at the end of the last book - What happens now??

Her friendships go from strength to strength with a special friendship with Adi being close to her, Cynthia (her best friend from her past) and the new friendships she makes within the Singers community all allow Julia to become strong, confident and evolve into who she is truly meant to be in all of this crazy prophesy!

I could not put this book down, yet another Novel by Tamara Rose Blodgett that I devoured within 24 hours leaving me wanting more! This Series has truly gotten under my skin and if you let it, will get under yours too!

This review will be a bit difficult because I don't want to spoil the story, so I'll do my best!

Blood Song picks up immediately after Blood Singers, with Julia reeling from the huge revelation at the end of that book. The intensity is kicked up to a whole new level with both the vampires and the weres still trying to control Julia, and with her learning to embrace her new life. There are betrayals, new faces, and still more men trying to be the One for Julia.

Blood Song was easier for me. Though there are still a lot of different points of view, the change in narrator is clearly marked. Also, there is a list of characters and their roles in the back of the book. Still, I find that there are too many points of view, which doesn't allow me to connect with any one character the way I like.

I did appreciate Julia's strength in Blood Song. She doesn't allow all of the men around her to decided her fate or who she will be with. She controls her destiny as much as possible. I loved Scott's presence in the story, and even though he is a bit possessive, I think he and Julia are a nice fit.

The story ends with a nice, sweet, yet ominous conclusion that is a nice lead-in to book three, due out next Spring.

Amazing sequel to 'Blood Singers'. I couldn't put this down until I finished it and I'm dying waiting for the 3rd book to come out!
Finally free of the vampires and werewolves, she's taken during the werewolf ritual that would have forced her to mated with a werewolf. The blood singers took her, knowing that she's the Rare One and their Queen. On her tour around the Singer compound, she meets Scott, the strongest Deflector and fighter of Region One. He instantly dislikes her and challenges her, threatening to attack her. When she manages to wit his attack, he is surprised and then verbally attacks her. She yells back, and he grabs her in a crushing grip... and a soul-meld happens... and they both hate each other.
She flees and becomes sick... she Awakens and another enemy slides into the picture, unknown to everyone but her... and people from her past come back into her life who she thought were dead....

Phenomenal story. Absolutely phenomenal. I enjoyed this book so much that I read as part of a box set and can't wait to read more in this series. A great love. A secret marriage. A shocking tragedy. This is Julia's life. And it has now changed completely. Now, everyone wants a piece of her. The weres, The vampires, The blood singers. Her blood is just so valuable that a war will break out because of it. To be in the mind of this author for just one day would be amazing. Where on earth does the imagination for just such a story come from? Bring on the next one.

I love this series!!! I had trouble putting it down!
Julia has one hell of a complicated life!! With Were's Vamps and Singers needing her to fulfil their races prophecies, the fight to claim her has come to a head!
Blood Song is action packed and full of intrigue, romance and heart wrenching situations, nobody wants to find themselves in. By the way, I was rooting for Scott the whole time! And Jacquiline is a bitch from hell!

This book was awesome!! As always, Tamara weaves a story of adventure that I seem to be addicted to. I was three pages into this & I was balling my eyes out. Strong emotions run deep throughout this series. I loved it. :) Towards the end Jules understands who she's destined to be with but the cliff-hanger points to other danger. Dun dun dun dun. So, I'm just sitting here, impatiently waiting for book 3. *sighs*

And the story continues...

Another amazing read from Tamara Rose Blodgett. This is the second book in the series and picks up right where book one left off. It's so wonderful to see the characters grow through each chapter. So wonderfully well written that you can't help but fall in love with the characters. It is sad that Jules may not be able to be with her husband ever again but there still may be hope...

I've already reviewed this one in the bundle that I bought. I loved it like I do all of Tamara Rose Blodgett's works. It was exciting and dangerous. There were twists and turns that kept me guessing. Every time I thought, I had it figured out, everything changed. I got lost in the scenery and the dialogue, the characters and the constant changes. She paints a picture that fills the mind. Amazing work.

2nd book of this series. Still loving the characters. Julia goes through a lot in this book... Okay she went through a lot in the first one too. This book deals more with singer and Julia blood and what that means for her and everyone else. I love the flow and snark ness of everyone. Great read!! Off to go start the third one. I am definitely shipping Julia and Scott. Hope it works out for them.

I can't give these books any more than 3 stars because of the changing viewpoints. It drives me crazy that the author loves to switch between characters and devote ENTIRE CHAPTERS to people that are not even main characters.

UGH! I'm so frustrated that such a good story has been practically ruined by all this nonsense.
