Had a very hard time finishing it

Warning: This review might contain what some people consider SPOILERS.

Rating: 4/10

PROS:
- The idea of an “Omega Network,” through which abused omega wolves can obtain help escaping from their packs, is interesting.
- Dewey’s partner, Taggart, is tough and sweet and über-protective.
- I thought it was cute seeing Dewey’s innocent confusion as he discovers technology and shopping malls and other modern conveniences that he’s never had access to before.

CONS:
- The foursome didn’t work for me. I believed in Dewey’s attachment to Taggart, but the other two seemed to be tacked on for the sake of hotness. (The sad thing is that I didn’t find any of the bedroom scenes hot.)
- The writing here is almost entirely telling (as opposed to showing). For example: “…he was a sadistic son of a [gun] who liked things that made my skin crawl. His idea of normal was so [effed] up.” But then we never see what these “things” are that make Dewey’s skin crawl. We just have to take his word for it that the other guy is a creep. Even the sex scenes barely show anything: “Then, as if he hadn’t done enough, he swallowed down my [you-know-what] and rocked my world with the best [bj] ever.”
- Flynn’s phrasing is awkward and sounds unnatural much of the time. “He was on the edge of control to not tear out Ryan’s throat”; “I figured everyone would cut me a little slack since what was going on.”
- Just about every action related throughout the story is exaggerated by at least 50%. The melodrama had me rolling my eyes by the second page, gritting my teeth by the second chapter, and contemplating abandonment by a third of the way through.

Overall comments: I hate to use the word “amateurish,” but I honestly feel that it’s the best adjective for this story. The language is strange, the writing is disjointed, and the story doesn’t delve into the characters’ heads in any depth at all. Add to that the over-the-top descriptions, and it simply wasn’t a winner for me. There’s also a pretty serious Chick with Brick angle to the story (Dewey’s 5’2” and wears clothing that he acknowledges is feminine, whereas his lovers are all at least 6’7” and incredibly macho), which I don’t mind in the least, but I know some readers hate it.

I liked this newest addition to the series. Dewey was abused, just like the others, but the focus was on the recovery much more than in previous books. It was a relief, because what the Omegas have to go through is horrendous. The rescue network and the other omegas are now up to full speed and are getting better at handling newly rescued Omegas.

Dewey's situation was physically bad enough but the emotional strain of having the man he loves right there and seeing him drugged, not being able to be with him, was a whole new level of awful. Dewey is very quick to recover though, and having the power to decide what happens, and if they add betas to their partnership, helps him feel more empowered.

Taggart is an amazing Alpha and so selfless it is almost worrying. For him, it really is all about Dewey. Percy and Azyle are a good addition too, playful at times, and already very much in love with each other. Having two established couples come together to form a foursome has its own issues, and made this book a lot of fun to read. No big external threat here, but enough 'internal' dynamics (and between-the-sheets action) to keep me entertained.

As for the surprise at the end? Very nice!

Just like for the other books in this series, if you're looking for a light, fun read and are in the mood for some loving main characters with a VERY healthy sex drive, or just want to know what happens next in this series, you will probably like this book.

Editing could have been better, but that seem to be the way all book from Siren are coming out now.

I was quite surprised with this one, the character develop their group bond slowly Dewey has them get to know each other (the 2 betas) it's two couples coming together, it's not meet then go all barbarian/caveman at each other like her other books. Quite nice that way.

Why oh why has she taken the easy way out and changed her writing style to 1st person I don't know. How any can fully appreciate a MMMM romance through only one persons eyes is beyond me. I use to really enjoy Ms. Flynn's books. When the style change the writing not only lost its impact but the stories seem weaker. As this series goes on all it seems it repetitive to me.

My only real issue was the fact that we never get Tag with the other betas. It's implied but they never seem to have a connection, not even at the end. They seem more like friends who are in love with Dewey. No physical connection is mention until it's implied at the end.

Vintage Joyee formula. A great filler and a decent story line.

I don't normally write reviews but I really needed to say this about the book so yeah..
It was hard for me to finish this book which is strange since I love this author. I think I was just really annoyed with the way Percy and Azyle treated Taggart..
You don't understand? Well.. Let's see.

-“And we love each other,” Percy said gently as he moved closer. I looked around and realized they must have laid Taggart down in the living room because he wasn’t in the kitchen. “But something’s always been missing between us and I think it’s you.”
-“We’re sorry. We shouldn’t have been so thoughtless. It’s just you’re so beautiful and the way you care for Taggart just makes us want to be the ones you want as well.”
-“Yeah, well, you already love Taggart and you’re his. We’re still trying to woo you and getting my ass handed to me in front of you isn’t the type of manly prowess I was hoping to show off.”
-“What Percy means is that we love each other and we have a good relationship but something’s always kind of been missing,” Azyle explained as he stared at me. “We think it’s been you. We’re both Betas, not always all that tender and unsure of how to handle emotional things. So we never moved onto that level like you and Taggart have. It’s more like we’re best friends who love each other and share a bed. We don’t know what comes next.”
-...
*I just got tired of looking for quotes*

Anyways, am I the only one who was just waiting for Azyle and Percy to at least tell Taggart he was hot? That they wanted him just as much as they wanted Dewey?
I mean.. It just feels like they only tolerate Taggart because they have to in order to be with Dewey, since they're a package deal.
And Taggart (being the amazing man he is) doesn't mind because it would mean that Dewey was happy and that's the only thing he wants.
I mean.. Even with the sex scene it was like that. Dewey taking care of Taggart because he loves him but the other two were only interested in Dewey. Percy made a small effort the first time but that was all he did in the entire book.

Heh.. Glad to get that off my chest ^-^

Dewey is just as physically abused as the other omegas in the series but there are definite differences in this premise that I enjoyed.

1.Having a strong relationship between Dewey and Taggart started the story differently than the other books. Their already strong emotional ties made them willing to do anything for the other.

2.Despite the terrible abuse Dewey and Taggart suffered at the hands of their old pack, the story doesn't dwell on it any more than necessary. Instead it focuses on recovery and moving forward with the life, free from their old pack.

3.The other two members of the 'potential' new inner circle are also an established couple.

4. Taggart, Percy and Azyle are dire wolves, a much larger and rarer type of wolf.

It's great seeing the returning characters. They play important roles in the Omega Network and giving sanctuary to the abused omegas, thus are important to the ongoing story line as well. Beta dire wolves Percy and Azyle are a nice addition and watching the two established couples work through their differences to become a foursome is handled well.

So I'm happy with this one. I don't have any real complaints. Yes, there was a couple of little editing spots that were missed but nothing that really bothered me. Vencentio is next.

There were a few editing issues that could have been avoided. Names were used in the wrong place, there were misspelled words, position of they character when they were claiming each other kind of didn't seem right, etc. I felt a bit odd when reading the story...the menage parts just felt weird unlike the other books. I loved Taggart and Dewey together but when it was time to bring in Percy and Azyle it just got a bit awkward since they were already together and seemed like they all became swingers instead of coming together to form a union. There was some good banter and it was a fun read.

I love this series. There are 11 books available right now and I have them all and there is definitely enough characters and story for more! The author takes full advantage of the fiction genre and comes up with some fanciful stories and relationships, plus there is enough angst with the Omega they each should have their own full-time psychologist, instead they have 3 hot, sexy men to help heal them.

Hot - all the stories are m/m/m/m and full of angst, sex and love. The overall story line takes a big twist in #9.

A fun, entertaining and sexy read.

A light read. I enjoyed the story in this one. This seemed to be about the Omegas recovery and his one love's. Dewey, is a strong character that loves Taggart wholeheartedly. Both Taggart and Dewey give to each other so much it could actually harm them. The relationship between the four didn't have the same evenness that the others had. It felt more like two couples that all "care" about each other. I still enjoyed the whole of the story.

Prize of the pack hunt maybe rescued with consequences that are Dire

This installment starts with a slightly different approach to the standard plot series, giving the abused Omega an immediate and trusted ally. The dynamic between the pair is interesting, but otherwise the story follows in a similar vein as the previous entries in the series, which means it works for me as an escapist, "rescue the Omega" read with a mix of some heated four-way male menage.

I liked Tag the most. Dewey was a bit too much bratty and suddelny BAMF at the same time. Why didnt he do it before? He wasnt as injured constantly as Lennox and apparently knew his powers.

A bit slower than others in the series it took a little while to get going but I liked the relationship that Dewey eventually developed with his inner circle.
