*This book contains graphic sexual content with lots of M/F/M action!*
I was born and raised in Charleston, SC, but now live in the hottest place on earth: Orlando, FL. I have three beautiful children who keep me running non-stop. When I'm not juggling life and kids, you'll find me huddled away somewhere writing my next book or happily reading someone else's. Like most authors I've come across, I'm a coffee addict, own far too many books than I can fit on my shelves, and I go to work in my pajamas a lot.
I not only read this, but I liked it. *blush* Actually, I am a huge fan of Christin and when I saw she had some shifters in a romance, I figured I would give it a shot. This may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it is truly a love story. A nontraditional one, but a love story. This book could use a better edit, but the story was fun. Once again Christin has a beautiful full figured gal at the center of her story. I love that. This is not from her YA series! If you are under 18 you should probably not be in the same room as this book. I, at almost 40, may actyually be too young for parts of this book ;).
I really liked the dynamic of this book. Karley had to go through so much in her life. Do I wish there was more on that back story and how she overcame it yes. But I did like it.
One thing though. There shifter part, really played zero role in the book. It could have been taken out ( especially how little it was mentioned ) and would have been a great book.
I didn't hate this book, but I cannot recommend it either. First, for the cost, I'd like a version that has the edits incorporated already and doesn't read like a draft. The redline/strikeouts throughout the file were horrible. It was very distracting and drew my eye to every edit.
Putting this aside, I didn't mind the premise, but I do mind being "told" vs "shown" the chemistry and attraction between characters. I would have liked more dialogue to display this connection that I'm supposed to believe is instant between these three characters. The paranormal aspect was very weak, or should I say practically non-existent and could have easily been left out of the story without making a difference. Secondary characters, outside of the family of the two heroes, were flat and uninteresting. Erotica needs some real story/character development to engage me, otherwise it's just porn.
Now of all the characters, I enjoyed the heroine, Karley, the most and I did feel badly for her, and discovering the reason behind her insecurities, which are not all due to her weight issues. Both the heroes were pretty interchangeable and it was easy to confuse the two. It's a must to have heroes with distinct personalities, and other than the height difference, there wasn't much to them. I liked their family interaction, and wished it could have been explored further to really give the heroes some depth.
Bottom line - there's some promise here, but editing issues plus weak story development left me disappointed.
I like the main female character was not super model skinny. Yes she has issues with her size as most of us do. Anyone who does not have the problem can't understand the character and why she is as shy as she is or drawn as she is. But Karley is a lovely character and just wants to be loved even through the hard times she has had to endure with family issues....in walks in two handsome hunk of cowboys Cole and Shane. Granted the werepanther thing was not really needed and it wasn't a huge part of book - kinda like an afterthought. Overall the book is a nice read, funny at times, HOT at times, and I'd read more of these from this author.
Nothing gets to me more than an alpha male in a book but having two alpha males...well i was more than happy with haha.
Now although this book was a good read, the ending really let it down for me, i feel like the writer could have maybe put abit more detail into the whole "birth of the baby" because honestly i just thought it was rushed and it really did let the whole book down for me.
But pushing the ending aside, i really did enjoy the story throughout. x
This story is about a plus size woman who read lots of romances. She didn't have a life outside of her books. That is until her boss/friend takes her to a bar. Where she meets two men who's looks floored her. Handsome beyond belief. And they wanted her. They had secrets. They were cat shifters and they both wanted to claim her as their own. This is their story. One HOT read. Will look for more books by Christin Lovell.
As sexy, heartfelt and kinky as usual. Christin once again takes us into a world that makes us stop and think, am I Karley? Karley is a curvy women and thinks she’s not worth love or a future. She has survived an awful attack and with the help of her two mates, Cole and Shane, she learns to live and love. Cole and Shane are panthers and they will protect Karley with their lives. I’ve reread this book several times and it’s one of my go to books when I’m looking for a warm, kinky feeling
Emotionless shifter story. Which is weird since the heroine had a damaged past and could have really added to the depth of the story. Sadly it never eventuated and with the many many shifter romances out there it falls short of the mark. I'm disappointed because the premise was something that really drew me. Oh well....
Had promise but fell short. While the book brought in a shifter element, there was little to no background for said shifters. The heroine had her moments of realism, but then she seemed to capitulate rather quickly to the guys demands/quirks. Overall it seemed to miss that something that made it a great story instead of just ok.
There was something missing here. The story is enjoyable enough but I didn't really connect with it too well. I'm usually a bit partial to plus-sized heroines, but there was so much emphasis on her body fat inside her head. I dunno. This book just needed something.
I'm sorry to be this harsh but the best thing I can say about this one is that it was horrible. Poorly written, contrived, convoluted, and idiotic, it is an affront to readers and the author as well; she may never be one of the greats but this piece is deeply below par of her usual writing. Avoid.
Cute book with a good menage story. In the beginning the whole 'overweight' thing was thrown around a bit much, and karaoke is not my thing, but a breeze to read.
Okay this was definitely a keeper. I really enjoyed Karley's background story, it made everything so much better, even though it was quite devastating.
