According to a recent RWA (Romance Writers of America) survey, the average romance reader is a 49 year old woman.
Yet the average romance heroine is in her twenties or at most her early thirties.
We read romance to both escape and to dream. I believe that a woman over 45 can be just as sexy and have just as much of a chance at great romance as a woman in her twenties. The main difference is perspective. Under the pen name of Mia Jasper, I publish romance stories for those of us who believe that love is not just for the young.
