Hiro and Nowaki advance their relationship to the point of more casual name-calling. Chaos continues to ensue between Misaki and Usami. What can happen next?
Shungiku Nakamura (中村春菊 Nakamura Shungiku?, born December 13,1980) is a Japanese yaoi manga artist. She is most famous for creating Junjo Romantica: Pure Romance. Shungiku Nakamura's distinct style of manga has been identified largely throughout Japanese and English yaoi fanbases. Her works usually include large age gaps between the seme and uke and characters with careers in the publishing industry (as depicted in Junjo Romantica and Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi). She often cowrites with Fujisaki Miyako, who authored the novels of Yoshino Chiaki no baai in Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi.
Works: Junjo Romantica: Pure Romance (2002 - Ongoing) "Junjou Mistake" (2008) Hybrid Child (2003 - 2004) Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi (2007 - Ongoing) "√W.P.B." (2004) "Touzandou Tentsui Ibun" (1998 - 1999) "Mangetsu Monogatari" "Tsuki wa Yamiyo ni Kakuru ga Gotoku" (1999) "Picturesque of a Mask" (art only) "Umi ni Nemuru Hana"
Mel🌻
So Misaki and Usagi has some serious love going on. Of course Misaki is still having doubts about his feeling for Usagi but the body dont lie and its saying that it likes Usagi a whole lot. So Usagi is the seme and is always taking the lead, seems Misaki will like to take over for the first time and this leads to some seriously funny moments. These two will leave you laughing and begging for more.
oooohhh yeeeaaahhhh this right here is why i fell in love with JR in the first place. junjou egoist was fantastic, especially the first chapter of this volume. then back to romantica we go, and misaki never fails to crack me up. the minimum chapter was super cute as well. good volume was good - in fact great! until the next volume, definitely looking forward to reading about the terrorist guys again ~ til then :')
The only thing this manga has going for it is the story, what little of it that actually exists. The yaoi relationships are toxic as hell, which happens very often in yaoi and for why? Sexual assault on a minor, which results in unexpected romance? Hell no. What was wrong with you, younger me? Did you just want the smut back then? Lord…
Volume 4 was just as enjoyable as volume 3. I was especially happy to finally get a chapter told from the perspective of Nowaki. He's so naturally easy going and affectionate that sometimes Hiroki forgets how easily his oppositely cold and standoffish demeanor can throw him off and make him question Hiroki's feelings toward him.
Also, I have been way too hard on Hiroki (and Misaki, for that matter). He has really been through a lot in his past and I really can't blame him for being who he is. Reading the chapter Junjo Minimum shows he fell in love with Akihiko when they were just in elementary school. That is a long time to have loved someone and not get anything in return. (Not to mention he'd always had that characteristically prideful demeanor even as a kid. Its just what makes him who he is.) The manga shows just how grateful Hiroki is to Nowaki for releasing him from that painful situation and how deeply he actually does care about his feelings.
The beginning of act 6.2 of the Romantica storyline was freaking hilarious. Omg, Misaki's reactions to everything Akihiko was saying to his brother in order to allow Misaki to continue living with him was priceless. Misaki is finally(!) acknowledging that he and Akihiko are lovers and I couldn't be happier for the both of them. But on another note, how can Misaki be so clueless as to how popular, respected, and accomplished Akihiko is within the literary community? He was totally blindsided by this new award and hadn't even read the book that won it. I don't think he's selfish or anything, I just think it's funny. Misaki of the manga is way more likeable than Misaki of the anime and I'm so happy I decided to read this series
Chapter 8 wraps up (probably) Shinoda and Hiroki's story. A very short story indeed, only two chapters long. I actually wish we could have seen more but honestly, it fits. A lot of important encounters and experiences in life are pretty short lived just like this one was. A heavy impression can be made in an instant or over the span of a lifetime or anywhere in between. It was the icing on the cake that when we find out that Shinoda saw Hiro too but chose to not come up and say hello, much like Hiro. They're similar yet different people, drawn to each other out of a mutual pain and loneliness. That being said, Shinoda likely didn't say anything because he surely shared the same sentiment as Hiro. He wanted to get rid of those memories that came flooding back. But at the same time, he was so very happy to see that Hiro had found happiness too, a happiness that six years ago seemed far, far out of reach to the point where nobody could see it. Wholesome story indeed, and I'm sure this won't be the very last time we'll see Shinoda. Oh, yes, and we found out that it was shortly thereafter the events with Shinoda that Hiro slept with Usagi and then wound up finding Nowaki (or rather, Nowaki finding him). Funny how these things happen.
I haven't been this excited about a manga series in a very long time. About three storylines are happening at once, and each pairing is unique and exciting. Each pairing will bring you tears of sorrow and joy at some point during the reading adventure. Something I did not expect was how much I enjoyed the art in this manga. The panels were all very well utilized; the story moves in a gentle flow that keeps you floating through the pages until you hit the end!
Okay this one is a 4.5 for me im ngl, egoist was fine this time around they didn't piss me off and it seems like they're growing as people awesome stuff. I like that even with the pretty set relationship romantica has going on now that doesn't just evaporate the anxieties that misaki has, just really nice to see
¿Me gustó? Pues si, ¿fue mi favorito? Pues no jajaja Egoist se me hizo una parte muy bonita de la historia, sufrí con el personaje, romántica fue divertida, veo una evolución de los personajes muy buenos. Hasta ahora, todo bien 🤩
