Oliver Napoleon Hill was an American self-help author and conman. He is best known for his book Think and Grow Rich (1937), which is among the best-selling self-help books of all time. Hill's works insisted that fervid expectations are essential to improving one's life. Most of his books were promoted as expounding principles to achieve "success". Hill is a controversial figure. Accused of fraud, modern historians also doubt many of his claims, such as that he met Andrew Carnegie and that he was an attorney.
I look forward to reading the original. It was only part-way into reading that I realized I was not reading the original as I checked this book out from the library. I was surprised to see mentions of individuals which would not have been famous yet when Napoleon Hill wrote the book. Though I have not yet read the original, I can't believe that Hill's words could have lost much meaning since they were written.
The original 1937 unedited edition, which is the version recommended by the Napoleon Hill Foundation, is considered the most accurate representation of the book. This is not that version.
