This was a fun light read and the second book in this series. We travel back to a small town in Ireland where Cait is learning more about her ancestors. She's learning more about the powers that she has and how to use them. Cait is also looking for her happily ever after.
This was a sweet story about finding yourself, family, friends and a bit of love. I loved temporarily being swept away to Ireland and it's rolling green hills and a much simpler way of life.

Tricia O'Malley presents an entertaining and captivating place in an extraordinary world.
This series increases my interest. Although I did not find it overwhelmingly captivating, I did find it very enjoyable.
There was a H.E.A. followed by an informative epilogue. I really do appreicate a good epilogue. This installation was packed with several developing relationships and the reader would benefit greatly by reading each installation in the series in order to understand the characters and their relationships more fully.

Coming off of the authors most recent Siren Island series, I'm having a hard time with her older books written before she's seemed to have a realization about healthy romance. This book and the last glorified and romanticized textbook toxic relationships and behaviors. The way the characters speak to each other is emotionally abusive and irresponsible. In this particular book, the main character Cait is unbearably uncommunicative and rash, making her difficult to like. The misunderstandings are unbelievable and I was almost never on Cait's side.
I'm very barely stringing myself along in this series because the underlying story line is interesting and the diction is well written (except for several bouts of repetitive dialogue). I'm hoping the series gets better as they get more recent but I may not make it that far.

Irish love
I have really enjoyed this series so far. There is a nice mix of fun, romance, and whimsy! I like the pace. The story constantly moves along while holding your interest.

Cait and Shane have known each other all their lives, and yet they don't know what to do with the passion that bubbles up between them. With Cait's ability to read minds and Shane's determination they finally figure it out.

What do you do when the woman you desire drives you to the brink of anger every time you see her, well you kiss her of course. What do you do when the man you are crushing on drives you into a rage everytime you see him, kiss him of course. LOL, the fireworks between these characters are hilarious and explosive in more ways than one, but Cait just can't let him get too close as what man would stick around if they knew she could read his mind and she can't risk having Shane look at her like she's a freak. Entertaining plot and intriguing characters keep this series rolling along quite well. The narrator does an excellent job of bringing the characters to life as well so I highly recommend the audiobook!

Poor Shane. Don't get me wrong for the most part I liked Cait's character and her gift, especially when she uses it on animals, but when it comes to Shane, she's stubborn and at times kind of rude. They have these sweet intimate moments and instead of talking to him she either just misreads him and brushes him off or lets her insecurities rip them apart. They do get their HEA but getting there was quite the journey.

A repeat of book one…
This is book two in The Mystic Cove Series. She has multiple series set in the same region, and you don’t have to have read any of the others. But I think you will find that you will want to. In fact I encourage it, as this one doesn’t live up to her potential and the others are much better. I have to admit, while the first book gave us details on the village of Grace’s Cove and the infamous Grace O’Malley, this is not panning out to be my favorite series by this author.
It’s a quick light read, with a touch of mystical whimsy and romance. Unfortunately it wasn’t as swoony or as comforting a read as her others have been, and I often felt frustrated.
We have Cait and Shane as the main characters this time around. She’s the sassy pub owner that can read minds, he’s the attractive city-boy rich property owner. There’s a whole lot of “he says something awful, she gets hurt” and “she says something awful, he gets hurt”. Sometimes it’s a little much and seems like the reactions are OTT. Like moments that seem sweet suddenly are very much not. They both seem to have a fixation on the other but neither one is willing or able to make a move without putting their foot in their mouth first. They’re both very stubborn and quick to jump to anger or frustration with the other.
I struggled with this book at times because a lot of their bickering and emotional whiplash felt a bit contrived or out of left field. The rate at which they switched from one mood to the next didn’t give me time to catch up, and didn’t feel real. Like maybe therapy should be considered at some point if you can’t manage keeping your emotions in check. A nice conversation, him saying something snarky and mean, her getting mad and hurt, then him becoming angry over her reaction. Wash. Rinse. Repeat. Between the mixed signals, sudden extreme changes in emotions, and game playing, I felt like they behaved quite like teenagers instead of successful grown adults.
After another reviewer pointed it out, I have to agree that this series seems to be the same story on repeat: a woman that has powers but is afraid to embrace them, falls in love with someone and all they do is fight or have sex, she’s afraid to tell him about her gift for fear he’ll reject her, but in the end everything wraps up nicely with a pretty bow. I’m disappointed to say that I agree. I didn’t feel any depth to these characters. Frankly I didn’t believe their connection. I would have liked to see something other than following the same outline of the first story, and characters that had more depth and less emotional instability. Not every interaction has to have every single emotion involved.
The lead up to the next books looks to be promising a repeat of the same outline unfortunately.

So in this book, she’s the poor girl turned pub owner and he’s the rich property owner. Looks like Aislinn’s laid down her plot line as dreamer artist and refined psychiatrist. Why can’t they be more than that? Maybe just two people who are attracted to each other? ::sigh:: I’m not sure I can take the same story a third time.

God, I absolutely love this author and her stories! Another amazing one. Short, sweet, but full of lessons that speak to the heart. Caits biggest issue, and one of my biggest flaws as well, is her insecurity. While Keelin was the acceptance of her gift, Caits is feeling that she didn't deserve better. Between her mother, Sarah, and her own insecurities, she couldn't see past it. She couldn't believe Shane loved her. She couldn't believe Shane would ever accept her.
"I chose my suitors. Never did I wait for them to choose me, nor did I wonder if I was good enough. I knew that I was deserving of love and picked, based on that alone. You, my dear, are of my blood and are powerful beyond belief. Choose, my little one, choose love,"
Grace really is one of the best characters in the books. She's rarely there, but man, she packs a punch and gives great advice. I love her!! I'm so glad that she spoke to Cait early on. I felt that really helped jumpstart her acceptance of using her gift more. I'm so glad that Shane, after he looked within and the help of Seamus, that he realized what an incredible person Cait is. And that her gift is just that, a gift.

Ok! Book 2 in the series! I really liked the 1st one but the 2nd is even better! Why? Not sure if it’s because I was familiar with the story or the characters but for those who are new to the series. Grace’s Cove has many secrets and the descendants of Grace O’Malley have gifts a plenty. In this particular story. Cait can read people’s minds. It’s not all fun when it comes to a certain mind she’s afraid to listen to. Every book is about a different person with a different gift. A nice told story with a little love story to go with ❤️

In the second Mystic Cove book, Cait Gallagher comes to terms with her psychic gift (mind reading) while building a relationship with her friend/landlord Shane McAuliffe. She's always been afraid of her abilities, after being overwhelmed by them as a child, but now seeks to explore her gifts and learn what she's capable of. Shane likes Cait, but has difficulty telling her, just as she has difficulty telling him she's no ordinary woman.
So, this book would have been a whole lot better if the characters had just sat down and talked to each other honestly. Of course, if they had done that there may not have been an entire book. The characters are unique and interesting, but by the end you'll want to lock them in a room until they agree to talk to each other.

I liked it... it was a easy flowing kind of story, not much happening in the way of things but how two people end up together.
What i love about this series is the magic its light but makes an impact and the descriptions..... You can close your eyes and imagine it!
Why its not a higher rating is that its not exciting enough, its nice slow and easy.

Highly repetitive. Strident. Immature. With a couple understandable moments. Hope each book in the series isn’t the exact paint by numbers as these first two.

This book didn't feel like it had the same character build like the first book did. These characters were already established, but I still enjoyed their story development. I'm not a huge fan of drama or "poor me" stories. I liked when Kat and Shane were confident.

I loved Cait and Shanes story. I can’t imagine how difficult it would be to travel through life hearing the thoughts of those around you, where would you go for silence? Although each book stands alone there is a beautiful weaving of the lives of the decendents of Grace and it was great to spend time with the other ladies.
Again Shane is a little too proud at times and needs to be put in his place, but underneath is a heart of Gold and Cait is just the one to set him straight.

I was so excited to see this randomly! I read book one ages ago and I've been dying to move forward in the serious. Especially with Cait. I wanted to learn more about her.
Cait can read people and animal minds, but she has a code of ethics and only uses her power in certain situations. I would be the same. There are times I would really NOT want to read someone's thoughts. Poor girl had a rough time in school before she could control it. UGH! I can't even imagine!
Shane is Cait's landlord. He is rich and hot. I did not like him at first. He was a moron and I wanted to kick him. I sort of warmed up to him later on in the book. Why didn't he just ask her out? Games are not fun...sorry. And I wanted to give Cait a kick here and there. Use your powers girl! OR just take two seconds and hear him out. Just walking away and running away gets you nowhere. UGH. So many miscommunications and the darn girl can read minds. SMH. I get it, I get it. She likes him too much to sneak in there. But still.........
Anyways....
I enjoyed the story a lot. It was nice to see more of Cait and her story. Poor girl had a rough beginning, but she really has made something of herself. This was a quick listen and I want more!
I honestly want to live in this town!!!! The people are awesome and it is so beautiful. I want to have a pint with Cait!

She was really good. She drew me in from the first sentence! I'm glad she does the next audio too.
In the end, I enjoyed this story. Shane was eh. He did get better, but still eh. I liked Cait even though she needed a good kick in the romp ;). A fun series. I want more. I'll give this 4 stars.
Cait can read people and animal minds, but she has a code of ethics and only uses her power in certain situations. I would be the same. There are times I would really NOT want to read someone's thoughts. Poor girl had a rough time in school before she could control it. UGH! I can't even imagine!
Shane is Cait's landlord. He is rich and hot. I did not like him at first. He was a moron and I wanted to kick him. I sort of warmed up to him later on in the book. Why didn't he just ask her out? Games are not fun...sorry. And I wanted to give Cait a kick here and there. Use your powers girl! OR just take two seconds and hear him out. Just walking away and running away gets you nowhere. UGH. So many miscommunications and the darn girl can read minds. SMH. I get it, I get it. She likes him too much to sneak in there. But still.........
Anyways....
I enjoyed the story a lot. It was nice to see more of Cait and her story. Poor girl had a rough beginning, but she really has made something of herself. This was a quick listen and I want more!
I honestly want to live in this town!!!! The people are awesome and it is so beautiful. I want to have a pint with Cait!

She was really good. She drew me in from the first sentence! I'm glad she does the next audio too.
In the end, I enjoyed this story. Shane was eh. He did get better, but still eh. I liked Cait even though she needed a good kick in the romp ;). A fun series. I want more. I'll give this 4 stars.

I enjoyed it although it wasn't my favorite
A good book that I enjoyed. Shane was often misunderstood by Cait not only because he was her rich landlord but because she often caused him to be rough when speaking to her. He tried so hard to be good to her and get her to like him. But more than once the word "Stupid" crossed his lips. He's pursuing and she's running. Often with the cruel words of her mother echoing in her head, that Cait just isn't and will never be enough.
Fiona a local healer loves Cait and does her best to help her. She is fierce has a great sense of humor and isn't afraid of anyone. Her attitude was like me or not. This is who I am. Fiona is trying to teach Cait more about her history and her gifts. And sometimes to give her a kick in the butt when needed.
Cait doesn't realize how many people like and care about her. A young man that works for her has a crush on her. Patrick adds some humor to the story as he works for her in the pub. He was sweet and protective when needed.
There is plenty of humor and some heat to this story. All of which I enjoyed,
Her best friend, Aislinn has her back and can tell how Cait is every time she sees her. And meets Baird, someone interesting during this story. There is an excerpt of their story at the end of this book called, "Wild Irish Soul."

Oh this continuation into the Mystic Cove series was so angsty. Shane and Cait are the most stubborn characters, ever! It is amazing either of them could get a word in edge wise. Shane refusing to let Cait know how he feels creates a lot of unnecessary drama where Cait is concerned. But no one ever said men were smart. lol Cait struggles with self confidence, due to issues with her upbringing. So she constantly doubts herself throughout. But when Shane makes a move, he makes a move! He is all consuming with his actions and stubborn. Again stubborn.
Grace has plans for our characters and she always does. Will the cove glow blue? You will have to pick up the book to find out.
Overall this book was highly entertaining and enjoyable read. The stubborn characters cracked me up with their craziness. It was fun to read and sweet at the same time. I loved the plot and twisted mystery thrown in, making the book that much more interesting to read. I can't wait to read more about the Mystic Cove and all of her secrets.

So I definitely enjoyed this book more than the first one in the series. I feel like because Cait and Shane have known each other almost their entire lives -- their love doesn't seem like it just happened over night or within a week of knowing each other.
I will say a lot of the writing was the same as the first novel -- as far as how the characters spoke to each other, some of the sexy scenes almost seemed identical.
My favourite part of this novel was Cait realizing she can speak with animals. Hearing Ronan and how happy he is was making my heart hurt with so much love for animals. Cait's gift is so interesting and I love that she doesn't abuse her 'power' just listening to everyone all the time.
I also enjoyed the bit of mystery in this novel as far as Shane and his business dealings.
Can't wait to continue on with this series and see who the next novel is about. I'm curious about Morgan, and I want a Fiona backstory with her husband that has passed. I think the next novel will be about Ais and the Dr Hottie.

Wild Irish Eyes is book two in the Mystic Cove series by Tricia O’Malley. This delightful series takes place in Ireland where magic is possible. It is a great series about the descendants of Grace O’Malley, pirate and mystic being. It brings the tales of Ireland to life.

However, she is getting close to having enough money to buy him out, if he will sell. Her friends try to get her to go out with men; but she is very selective as to who she will go out with. I listened to the audio book for this and enjoyed the narration.
Onto the characters. I did not like Cait very much. As a person she was ok. She was so insecure about herself and back and forth that it was a little much. My biggest issue with her is how she treated Shane. She got all mad and heartbroken that he turned his back on her. Which lets get it straight. He did not. He got a phone call from the police and took the call. She left. Not him. So I can see her getting hurt thinking he can’t accept her but honestly how was he supposed to react. She’s the one that was CONSTANTLY pushing him away. I mean at every turn. And he told her a couple of times he wanted to be with her. Yes he never told her he loved her but frankly when could he. They were either making out or yelling at each other. When he would start to tell her things she’d blow him off. Quite honestly I think Shane was a better character!

(Shane & Cait): second book of the series, we get to hear Cait's story. Cait is the pub owner and one of the first people Keelin met when she came to Dublin. Cait has had a difficult life with a mom who isn't really supportive of her profession and having a deep crush on her landlord, Shane. Shane is a very wealthy man, owning several buildings in town and renting them out. He has feelings for Cait but doesn't want to start anything with one of his tenants. Then he starts to notice things about her. Cait, like Keelin, is related to that same mysterious bloodline. She is sort of an empath. Which helps her communicate with those who are unable to communicate themselves. Of course the more Shane and the town notices about Cait, the more he develops feelings for her. They have a strong pull towards each other and it's a pretty good match. This is a really good read but the first book is my favorite.
