20 years in the counterculture working at Rough Trade Record Shop, now working in freedom of expression NGO world. I hope my books are more than just the sum of the above. I used to be a playwright, but then started writing more for dancers and physical theatre performers. I like a challenge and I like to move out of my comfort zone. Now I’m a novelist and am writing more ‘voice’ than I ever did as a playwright. Go figure!

Just didn't get this at all... Maybe I'm not the target audience, but this was too damn clever for it's own good. To me it was just strings of words that took up space and left me none the wiser afterwords. Not my cup of tea At all!

Flash fiction isn't everyone's cup of tea. It can't even be compared to short stories, because it can be far more complex and layered, despite the wham bam thank you mam shortness of the pieces.
Nash likes to play with the complexity of words, whilst letting the reader have a quick painful peek at pent up emotions and subconscious fears.
Without going over each one individually I think there was an interesting almost obsessive link with parent, child, abuse and abandonment. Keeping in mind, that what makes flash fiction so different is how each reader relates or takes something individual from the read. Almost like the subjective experience of art. Flash fiction is the performance art of the scribe.

I like the cover, but after that 16FF went a bit downhill. Within a page, I reckoned that I wouldn't like it and after reading 3 of the stories (16%), I was certain.

Marc Nash writes pretty well, it's just that the stories are too abstract or uncompelling. They reminded me of those 5 minute Polish cartoons you see on C4 when something ends unexpectedly early - perfectly well made, just not really about anything.

Not my cup of tea at all. 2 stars out of 5.

16FF is a flash fiction anthology offering an interesting soul searching journey. Human relationships are put under the microscope, intelligent questions that serve as food for thought are asked. My favorite stories were ''While You Were Sleeping'' and '' Toys Will Be Toys'' for the sensitivity with which they were developed.
