On the island where the gods Love and Lust reside, no one will leave untouched…
Parapsychology grad Gina Munson finds her uncle's island resort fascinating,-but romantically dangerous. The supernatural passion of the island caused her a harsh lesson before, and now her only interest is to study the paranormal without falling victim to the resort’s special “charms.” Contractor David Gilroy wouldn’t believe in the island’s alleged power even if he knew about it. He’s not interested in anything other than his building job...until he runs across Gina sunbathing topless.
When summer in paradise blossoms into a desire she may never recover from, Gina knows she can’t trust what they’re feeling. How can David convince her that his passion is real? What if it isn’t?
I tend to dream up stories while either lying in bed at night, taking breaks from my desk at work, or sitting on my patio swing overlooking the pool where my kid goes swimming. It's exciting to watch a story unfold, especially when characters say or do the utterly unexpected!
Before I began writing novels, I wrote and co-wrote short pieces for stage skit competitions and short story contests, garnering a few wins for each. More recently, I consulted on a script for an amateur short horror film, and have dabbled in video editing and special effects. When I'm not busy doing the bidding of my sexy, yet smart-aleck muse, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, gardening, cooking and watching movies.
I enjoyed reading this entertaining and well written book, although it has a slow start. You see the chemistry between Gina and David. But they trip over and over again over their doubts on the way to their HEA. Also I would have prefered a little more of the background about both of them and of course about the mystery island.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
He was a contractor, about to build on tropical island paradise, when on inspecting the site, he come across her, sunbathing in a secluded hideaway. Off course attraction was instant, although both had been hurt before, so both were reluctant to act, until the island's mystique played it's part.
It was a good fun read. A lot of twists and turns. Fun characters who are from something different. I recommend it. I enjoyed reading it. Sometimes you have to give a book a few pages to have it catch you. I received a review copy and voluntarily review it.
The story moves slowly at first. I wasn't really sure what to expect. I liked that it felt different from most books in this genre and not so predictable. You got some clues about the supernatural aspects to the location. The characters are very well developed and you get both of their points of view which is what I prefer so I can feel closer to the characters.
This story was not what I expected. I assumed it would be a simple secret romance in tropical place, but it was far from it. I loved it from start to finish!! The romance, the conflict, the love & the supernatural of the island was wonderful!! I couldn't out the book down till I read what happened & if the couple got back together!! I absolutely loved it!!
