What did I think??? Hmmmm...
Well first off I would like to thank Annie for kindly giving me this book whilst it was in edits!!
I was so happy when I saw it in my inbox! I read it straight away and devoured it! After reading the few chapters she kindly put up on her profile I was bouncing up and down refreshing my inbox page every few seconds waiting for her name to pop-up.
Now to get back to the book. I have been sitting here debating with myself what rating to give this book and after battling my way through my thoughts and questions I had after finishing I have settled on 4 stars.
The beginning of this book drew me in quickly. I already read quite a few chapters on Annie's profile and after re-reading these I knew why I was so anxious to finish it. It was good. The book was very relatable to me.
Since I'm only young myself I could put myself in Abby's shoes in most of her situations since I have been through a lot of what this book discussed myself.
However it also had unique concepts for example Abby's relationship with her dad, Lucas's history.
I have to be careful here because I don't want to give anything away! But my gosh I could go on and on about this book but all I have to say is it's worth reading and Annie did a great job!
Her hard work has paid off and every minuet I spent reading this was not wasted!
I'm so proud of you buddy and this book.. Well it was just amazing!
I found myself nervous when Abby was nervous, laughing when Abby found something funny, warm when I was so happy because Abby was happy (mainly at the end) and jealous that she got an amazing guy to call hers!
The only reason this did not gain a 5 star rating was because even though it was GOOD the story was not mind-blowing or completely different and unique like others. And although I love Annie lots and lots and adore her for giving it to me early etc etc it wouldn't be right to just give her 5 stars.
I would like my review to be honest and give the rating I feel
It deserves:)

This is one book that deserves to be read!
And it is one that is really easy to get in to and CMON every girl remembers the first guy they give their heart too. Even if they wont admit it!! ;)

Where do I begin with this review. Well, firstly I want to just say thank you to the amazing and wonderful Annie Brewer for allowing me the honour to accompany her on this journey with her. I have been there from the beginning when I saw the words that Annie wrote, being transformed into the story we have today. Being a beta reader, as well as helping to edit, has brought me closer to the story than I thought possible. And I'm forever grateful to Annie for the amazing experience and wild ride…love you Annie :)

Okay, back to the actual review. From the outside, seventeen year old Abby Lewis, looks like she has it all. A loving boyfriend, who is a quarterback on the football team, two best friends, who will do anything for her, a wonderful family and a voice that could help her have the future of her dreams. But, deep down within, she is in turmoil. Her world is slowly crumbling in all around her.

Life at home was beginning to way heavily on Abby. Her younger sister Sarah was always causing trouble or getting into mischief, while her absentee father avoided them altogether, leaving their mother to raise them on her own. And, soon, Abby finds herself leaning on the one person who has always been there for her, especially when times were extremely tough. Her best friend, Lucas. Oh Lucas, you are such a bad boy, with a sweet and sensitive soul. He too has had a rough childhood, but he's so selfless and supportive, you just would never know. He's so dreamy and so sexy and sweet all rolled into one *sighs*
What really sets Abby off, is when Lucas starts seeing her younger sister Sarah. Why should this be a problem, you ask? Yes, Abby has a boyfriend, Brady, so why should this bother her? Well, it should. Lucas, in fact, was once more than just a friend. He was her first love, and this union triggered something in her that made her start questioning her relationship with Brady, and her sister. Did she really love Brady? Did she ever get over Lucas, in the first place? And will Lucas's past affect her decision? So much drama goes down with them all, including Abby's other best friend, Brooke. I'm talking about, I can't believe this is happening type drama.
Anyways, you can totally imagine Abby's predicament, and to top it all off, her father decides to re-enter her life, asking for a second chance. What will Abby do? What will she decide, and who will she turn to for strength? So many questions that need to be answered, and the only way to find out is for you all to pick the book up yourself.

This book took me on an emotional ride. From it's moment of conception, to the very last word. I have felt, breathed and lived Abby's life. You will too be consumed by the story and the events and the love and the moments and the passion and the tension. If you enjoy reading about love and the lengths you would go to for it, then Back to You is a story that will touch you dearly, and make you wish you were a teenager again.

OK what can i say about this freaking awsome book!!! Firstly i would like to say a big Thankyou to my gorgeous friend and author Annie Brewer for giving me the eArc so i could read bacause i was dying to read this book!!! and let me say that that i loved every second of this book and i definately going to re read it again!!

I loved Abby from the start she was one of those girls that most of us can relate too. Abby had it all the great boyfriend the 2 bestfriends an awsome mum, who i wish was my mum LOL, but secretly there was something missing. The home front was not that good her 15 year old sister seems to be getting into trouble every 5minutes and her mum is alone after her dad cheated on his mum, and left. But let me say the mother is doing an awsome job raising the girls by herself. Then her sister starts to take a intrest in her bestfriend Lucas, he is also her ex. I loved Lucas i wanted to eat him up he was such a gentle person even though he has had such a bad childhood, but he is always there for Abby even when people think her persuing her dream of singing is pathetic, he is one to always have her back and support her in whatever she does. When Abby see's her sister and Lucas together it brings some unresolved feelings out. She relises she never really got over him. Even though Abby has a boyfriend Brady she still cant help the feelings she get for Lucas and the more she see's him the worse it gets so she starts to try to avoid him. To top off her great dilema her sister decides to move back in with her dad bringing him back into her life which and she wants nothing to do with him, so her emotions are all over the place. To find out what happens you have to read it trust me you will not regret it...

This book was an emotional rollercoaster and had me hot and bothered a few times too. I finished it in one sitting beacause i could not put it down it was to hot to handle it needed me not to stop reading it till i finished the whole thing and every hour i spent on this book was worth it. I recommend this book to everyone as soon as i comes out go and buy it you will loved it.

Ok So Pro's and Con's

Pro's,
I loved the Characters, how Abby's your typical 17 yr old girl. Brady is gunna be a big football star. Brooke the sidekick, Sarah the troubled teen wise beyond her years. Lucas is the hot next door neighbour.

Con's

All in all I liked it a lot. I recommend this to lovers of clean YA. Yes Sex is insinuated but not detailed, they swear, they deal with some issues that Teen's go through.
Great work Annie and I can't wait to read the next thing you put out! Make sure you let me know.

I would like to thank the wonderful Annie Brewer for providing me with an ARC of this book for review!
This is the sweet story of Abby and Lucas. Of their friendship and love, of their ups and downs. Back to you captures teen angst at it's best. It captures relationships between friends, family and first loves. There is tension, their is sadness, there is happiness, all wrapped up in the neat little package that is this book. Back to You caputres the true meaning of love and how it can withstand anything you throw at it.
Abby is snarky and strong. She doesn't let anyone step on her. She stands up for what she believes and what she wants.
Lucas is handsome and sweet. How could someone not fall for him?
Brooke, Abby's best friend, is supportive and you can tell they are true friends.
Brady, Abby's boyfriend/friend personifies the typical football player and guy who likes to hang with his friends and play games.
Sarah, Abby's sister, is a pistotol in need of a lot of sisterly love.
Abby's mom is cook and calm.
The cast of characters is fun and intriguing, drawing you into the story and egging you on to read to the end.
Congratulations Annie!

I hate to write this review, seriously, I do. I like Annie but this book just didn't do it for me. It might be your cup of tea but for me this book equals 1.5 stars.

1st of all, Abby got on my nerves. You knew she was gonna choose Lucas. She knew it too. But she just kept on dating the douche and cheating on him then feeling guilty about it and complaining and complaining... like wtf.
2nd of all, the love triangle that isn't even a love triangle. You know what I'm talking about, you've seen this a million times before. I'm ok with it if they only happen at the begging of the book but dragging on through 3/4 of the book.. no thank you.
3rd of all, I didn't enjoy the writing style. Sometimes I just rolled my eyes at the conversations. At other times I rolled my eyes at the way things happened -how fast, in what order and so on.

So... yeah, that's all I wanted to say I guess. You may like it, but it just wasn't for me.
1.5 stars.

GOD! What a beautiful cover! I love it x2434738957983456487. A lot.

3.5 stars. I would give it full star if it weren't for Abby...*shakes finger at the girl*

I just wanted to cut her tongue from her mouth. She had severe word vomit. I don't think I can think of one moment where she said something right from the beginning to the almost end of the book. She's one of those people that complain and mopes about everything that happens to them but they make it all happen and bring it on themselves. I can't stand that. Thankfully, by the end of the book, I could tolerate her and she redeemed herself. Maybe she learned her lesson? Her sister Sarah is way more mature than she is. I felt like Sarah, Brooke, her mom, and her dad were all picking up her marbles throughout the whole book and depositing them back into her head. She started to make sense, she was maturing. I was thanking Annie. Thank you, thank you, thank you for saving Abby from my wrath. I was about to pounce on her with my vicious ninja skills. Turns out I loved her in the end.

AND WHAT A SHOCK! The one character I thought I was going to have a problem with is the one I favor the most. WHAT THE HELL?!?! But really, Sarah is smart and funny and a great sister to Abby. It was a change that shocked the hell out of me. They go from at the others throat to hugging and sharing each others secrets. What? O_O

Things were resolved a little too easily. If Brooke was my friend, I would be pissed that she did that to me and then was avoiding me like I did something. HELL NO! They didn't know of Abby's infidelities yet. I would be like...if you were really my friend...etc. But Abby made mistakes so it's not like she had room to complain or judge. Which, I guess is the point?

The best parts...were with Lucas. Those hot scenes. I wish for more of those. :) But I could just be a perv. ha ha. But the BEST BEST BEST part? THAT ENDING AND EPILOGUE! I swear, I was almost in tears. I LOVE happy endings and that one just hit the right spot in my heart. I loved it.

Loved it like I love you, Annie! <3

Abby, what a girl!! I have to say I love her and the fact that she has all the crazy problems all girls do when we are young is even better! She has a first love but does not really know if he is the one or should be the one. As she goes through high school and she feel her life is falling apart at home,at school and her personal life she has to make some very tough choices.

I really enjoyed this book. I needed a break form paranormal stuff and this was just the one! Annie did a fabulous job writing this story making me feel all of Abby's ups and downs. I really felt like I was part of this story. Her BFF Lucas is even better and the story of the fight Abby has in figuring out what she wants is page turning. Its really a great being, middle and end to a story you wont want to miss out on!!

I really think this is a great read for young and old. Annie had me wanting more from the start. If you need a break from all the others and want an on the edge of your seat read this is one you need to add to your TBR list for sure!! I cant wait to see more from this amazing new author!!;) thanks for letting me read Annie love;)

I had such high expectations for this book. I'm friends with Annie on Goodreads and her reviews and updates always make me laugh, so I really wanted to like Back To You and give it an awesome, massive review. Unfortunately, I did not like this book, but it was ok. I really hate to say it, but it was almost cringe-worthy.

Just before I start, I just want to say that I don’t want to be mean! I’m just being honest. Constructive criticism, perhaps? I’m not being mean!

Ok, so I’ll start with the grammar and the writing. The writing was cringe worthy. It was forced and awkward. The dialogue was even worse! I was cringing! The writing started out fine, then the dialogue came in between Abby and Sarah and from then on, it just went downhill in my opinion. The other thing that annoyed me was the lack of contractions. Contractions are allowed. Do you know how frustrating it is to constantly read “I will”, “I do not”, “I have not”? Please, please, please use contractions! It was so annoying. Other than that, the writing wasn’t that bad, just really annoying.

Abby was alright. She wasn’t anything special, nor was she completely horrible. She was meh. She didn’t do anything for me. She was a weird character, very moody and indecisive. Her moods were really strange, like… she could get really angry over something small, but could be completely calm over something massive.

Brady. One word: asshat. I just… I didn’t like him, at all, right from the beginning, until the end.

Sarah was bipolar. I don’t mean to be rude or offensive when I say that, but seriously, Sarah was crazy. Her moods were insane. One moment she was a loving younger sister…

>

She was a crazy bitch.

Sarah’s moods were giving me headaches! Honestly. She was jumping from one mood to the next instantaneously, without any warning what so ever. In the end she turned out to be alright, but really truly deep down, she was nuts.

Now… the love interest, Lucas. He was certainly interesting. Didn’t approve of Abby cheating on Brady, but didn’t really make any moves to stop her coming onto him. Lucas didn’t do much for me. He didn’t make me lust after him or anything. He was definitely a “meh” character.
Last but not least in the character department was Abby and Sarah’s mum. She was… weird; a very, very laid back mum, indeed. She was strict on some things, but also very lenient on others. She clearly had a favourite child too, and that was Abby. I have a pretty awesome mum, who I’m super comfortable with and would tell absolutely everything to, but Abby’s mum’s character was a little overboard.

There wasn’t really much of a plot. Okay, maybe I lie, there was one, but it was boring and not at all exciting. There weren’t any “Oh-my-god-edge-of-my-seat” moments or really depressing moments. The whole “plot” was “bleh”. (To put it in music terms, it had an unmoving, occasionally jumping melodic contour).

Okay. One thing that super-duper really annoyed me about this book was the singing. WHAT SINGING?! Abby is in the school choir and her dream is to be in Broadway musicals, but there was hardly anything about her singing. She wasn’t completely devoted to it and it didn’t consume her time. I’m in the Conservatorium of Music and I devote half of my time practicing violin and my life doesn’t even depend on it! Abby barely did anything singing wise. She skipped choir. I don’t even skip practice. Singing is Abby’s career choice and she hardly does anything about it in the book. Violin isn’t even my career choice (mostly) and my life revolves around it! And I’m 14! Sorry about the comparisons, but this “singing career” of Abby’s really annoyed the crap out of me.

The romance was also an issue with me. I wouldn’t even call it a “romance”. It was forced and ugly. I don’t know how Lucas did it; dating an already taken girl. That’s just messy. The relationship between the two was forced and moved very quickly. I understand that they had already dated and that they’d know each other for years and been through heaps together, but a relationship is different to a friendship, especially now that they are older. There are more things to… consider.

Overall, the book was alright. It was confusing and jumpy. It was definitely clear it was Brewer’s first book. I’ve asked for an ARC of Brewer’s second book, Choices, which I’m positive, will be so much better!

Sorry Annie, I really wish I enjoyed this so much more, but it just didn’t work with me. I hope I love the rest of your books so much more!

When Back To You first started off I was instantly drawn in. The characters showed off their personalities right away and I found each of them to be unique and endearing. I automatically loved Abby, Brooke, and the mom. I instantly despised Sarah. And I was confused about both Brady and Lucas. I felt all of those emotions already after reading the first 5 chapters! This should've been a hint that this read is an emotional roller coaster!

As I kept reading, I found myself being pulled in different directions. I was happy one moment, sad the next, pissed off after, etc, etc. I had no idea what to expect next! I have a love-hate relationship with Abby. I admired her for wanting to protect herself but I also found her to be selfish and annoying at times. I think her situation could have been avoided if she were honest not only with herself but with all of the people that she loves. The one time I truly despised her was when she told Lucas to wait for her. I found that to be unfair and quite selfish. I'm glad that Abby did eventually grow up and learned to be more honest with everyone.

I loved how the characters were very relatable. To be completely honest, Sarah reminds me of me. lol Once she admits the reason for why she dated Lucas (I found this part funny! Smart sister) I started to like Sarah a whole lot more. Her character became endearing because of how honest and blunt she was. I found it to be quite entertaining! Then the mother ACTS EXACTLY LIKE MY MOTHER! I'm not even kidding! At times it was surreal to be reading this story because I swear it was like Annie was writing about my life!!! LOL When they had the Enchilada dinner that was what I had for dinner that night before I read about it! It was weird!!!! While those facts may not have anything to do with your lives, it made the story extremely realistic for me. It was kinda freaky...

What I would have liked to see from this book was something more. What exactly I have no idea. It just felt like it was missing something. Maybe it could of had more plot. It seemed like another story could have been told with Abby's singing. That's what she wanted to do in life but it was only really mentioned in the beginning. I think if the singing element was added throughout the story, Abby's character development would be improved. Or maybe we could have learned more about Lucas and Abby's past. I don't really know for sure but if something else was added I think it would turn this good story into something great.
I also would have liked for it to have possibly gone through another round of editing. At some points I was confused by who was talking and I was like what? I mean it wasn't that big a deal and only happened a few times but it could use a little more editing. Not much.

I also absolutely loved the ending solely for its shock factor. I mean that Epilogue? Wow. I definitely did not expect all of that to happen. That was...a lot of news to say the least LOL

Anyway, this book was enjoyable and worth the read! :)

It took me a few chapters to get into the book.Once I did I couldn't put it down!It was an enjoyable read.I had a little trouble with the mild language used but after I thought about it,most people do use that kind of language in their everyday life. However,I did think at some points the conversation the daughters and parents had a little too much mild language. This is just my opinion based on my upbringing.I did like the way the mother and Abby connected.I found this story be easy for people to connect with.It has a lot things that many people deal with in this day and age.I found that it mirrored some of the circumstances my teenager daughter and I deal with or have dealt with.It also shows that we can overcome problems and circumstances in our life. Also shows how forgiveness is a big part of moving on in life and how it can lead to happiness.I really think the author has a great talent in writing stories and am looking forward to her next book.
In Back to You,Abby is torn between her feelings for her boyfriend,Brady, and her best friend,Lucas. She has been with Brady for a while but he doesn't always support her dreams.Abby isn't sure if she can see a future with Brady. However,Lucas has always supported her dreams and even helped her through the rough time she had after her dad abandoned her mother, her sister, and her.Abby's sister,Sarah has her own problems to deal with. She is just coming into the teen life and is headed in the wrong direction. She keeps getting in trouble, which makes everyone miserable at home, and nothing her mom does seems to help.Sarah decides she has a solution to her problems. But her solution will throw a wrench in everyone's' already chaotic life.Abby wants to turn to the one person who has always helped her through hard times,Lucas. But can Abby and Lucas let go their past problems and move on or will it destroy them both?

A high school love story mixed with the sweet emotions, thoughts, hopes and dreams of those finding their way in the world. Abby, a high school senior, is dating Brady. She should be happy, but part of her is wondering what's missing. She finds her thoughts going back to Lucas. Her best friend since childhood and ex-boyfriend. The story takes off from there. In the midst of all this is Abby's mother, her 15 year old sister Sarah, her best friend Brooke and her formerly absent father. There are touching moments mixed in with betrayals from both sides which all mix well with each other.

An interesting story, I found myself distracted by the writing. There were times I didn't know until the end of the sentence who was actually talking, having to go back and reread to get it straight. Towards the end we find out what is holding Abby back, and it just seemed to be thrown together, not really smoothed into the story, it was more of a hinderance to the story itself. The way the characters talked to their mother, and in front of their mother, without any repercussions from the mother, that seemed a bit out there too. A little polishing and futher editing of the story and writing would bring this book up in my ratings.

Annie Brewer shows a lot of talent with her debut novel. I look forward to reading her next offering to the literary world.

I struggled a bit with this one. I couldn't connect to the characters. I actually ended up not caring for any of them, save for Sarah. I had a feeling she wasn't the raging bitch she seemed to be. Turns out, she was acting like that for a reason.

I was happy that Lucas put his feelings out there without a bunch of nonsense. I didn't understand why he seemed okay with Abby seeing him behind Brady's back, though. I wouldn't have put up with that mess, no matter how much I loved the person. I didn't get why she couldn't just end things with Brady. When she finally did, it just seemed a bit too convenient. Especially since everyone stayed the best of friends afterward. Why would you stay friends with the people that did that to you? True at least, she wasn't overly hypocritical, but I still can't believe they remained friends.

I didn't like Abby and Sarah's mother, either. She just put me off. She was so hard on Sarah, but seemed like she wanted to be Abby's best friend. It was nice that it wasn't one of those series where you have the perpetually absent parents, though. At least she knew what her kids were up to since Abby basically told her everything. Still, she just bothered me for some reason.

I would read another book by Annie. This one just wasn't for me.

I decided to read this after reading the review of a friend here on goodreads.
I have to say that I honestly couldn't quite get into this which was quite disappointing.

I felt that the plot was not endearing enough and I grew a little tired of the story the more I read.

I felt that there was little I could relate to and there was not enough emotive language used to make me feel strongly emotional about some of the more sensitive and sympathetic issues.

I couldn't quite bond nor like many of the charachters and overall this book did not meet my expectations however I feel that it is one of those books some will enjoy while others may dislike.

This book was okay. I found it hard to root for either male counterpart. I felt like I couldn't mourn the friendship that died because, I didn't experience it. The emotional pull wasn't there for me. The premise was on point, but the story didn't quite reach my heart strings.

I have to say that I was a little disappointed in reading this book. I thought the writing was a little choppy and some what thrown together.Conversations and who was speaking got annoying.I reread a few sentences about 5 times before understand what it was ment to say.Much of the beginning parts dragged on and on. Abby I really didnt like her, actually none of them well except for Sara.I didnt like her at all in the begining just like all the rest but she actually becomes the only character I did like and was not selfish. The mother seemed to only care about Abby what Abby was going through, what Abby was going to do and who Abby was with/dating,her feelings and the fights with Sara she laughed and threatened but never seemed to care really about Sara. And the way they talked in front and to their mother seriously??

In all Honesty I read the first 40% or so then started to really get bored and annoyed with it.Im not one to quit a book unless I just cant stand the story,so I pushed on but really just skimmed through the rest till about 85% then the story kinda becomes some what back to a bearable reading level.

The "love story" here is just meh and Abby annoyed the heck out of me.Abby was more messed up than her sister who was supposed to be the bad one .. I got tired of the Yo Yo relationship and feelings.Firsts of all its hard to like a book when you cant stand the MC! If it werent for her sister I probably wouldnt have made it as far as I did before skimming.

Also the time lines are off .. Slight spoiler but not really..
Mother & father divorced remarried all came about by an affair that Abby walked in on IN their home.. yeah OK!
Anyways they are now married and have 2 kids.. Unless the oldest of these 2 kids is NOT their dads then he is way to old to be their brother or the "client affair" was going on a lot longer than was told in the story.

Anyways all in all it was just ok.
Of course it has a HEA but there is nothing special about it.pretty cheesy actually.

The remarkable story behind Back to You by Annie Brewer will put its readers through many emotions. It is a nice shift from the available flooding selections of paranormal romance. Readers are introduced to seventeen-year-old Abby, who is going through some family issues and uncertainties with the guy she is dating. She does not really see a future with her boyfriend Brady but feels safe being with him. She is torn between Brady and her best friend, Lucas, who has always been there for her. When her uneasy younger sister finds love with the boy who has always cared for her, Abby can’t help but to wonder if Brady is really the one for her. But the longer she stays with Brady, the faster Lucas is slipping away.

The emotional roller coaster that author Annie has directed will put its readers to a non-stop ride of drama and intrigue. The introduction of Lucas is truly captivating and readers will want to know more about him. Abby, on the other hand, is not your typical heroine. She’s easily irritated and will not take crap from anyone. Although the choices she makes sometimes will make readers grab her by the shoulders and shake her and say “Why”, it was really her way of trying to be strong and coping with what happened with her parents. Annie’s writing style allows readers to be consumed by its gripping story of the lengths one would go for love. Back to You is a truly endearing and touching story that explores the trials one goes through searching for love.

Quick and easy read for me. I was disappointed with some the interactions between the characters. For instance, It was sort of odd how Lucus behaved towards Abby. It didn't fit his caracter, but it did provide some angst. 2 1/2 to 3 stars.

I really hoped I was going to love this!
But I couldn't even finish reading it!
First of all:
The plot?
Mmmm...Abby want's to give herself to Lucas but she is with Brady..
Abby...She was really annoying. In every conversation she had it was always centered on her,how life was hard and poor Abby.In ten chapters we know nothing about Brooke her best friend.
And Lucas?Meh.Nothing special.

I have to say that I was a little disappointed in reading this book. It was a cute read, but I had trouble connecting with the characters. I thought the writing was a little choppy and at times I wasn't sure who was even speaking. It's only $1.99, so is it worth it...yes, but I wouldn't push other books aside on your TBR list for this one.

I thought it was very well written. Topics insightful, relevant and typical of high school YA. I loved Lucas. Thought Abby was a brat. The characters and the situations they find themselves in are perfectly portrayed, I thought. I wasnt riveted but I kept coming back because I did make a connection with the Lucas and Abby and needed closure, which of course, I got.

This was a cute romance book. I really loved Lucas! Who doesn't love a Lucas? Abby and her stubbornness kind annoyed me. I am probably stubborn just like her. The good thing about her was she learned as she went along, and tried to right her mistakes. Good book for New Adult age.
