Bubba's back! There's a cupid on the loose in a nursing home, and he's wreaking havoc with broken hips, high blood pressure and horny octogenarians! Can Bubba and his pistol-packing nun sidekick save the day before the cupid plants a magic arrow in our favorite Monster Hunter?
John G. Hartness is a teller of tales, a righter of wrong, defender of ladies’ virtues, and some people call him Maurice, for he speaks of the pompatus of love.
He is also the award-winning author of the urban fantasy series The Black Knight Chronicles (Bell Bridge Books), the Bubba the Monster Hunter comedic horror series, the Quincy Harker, Demon Hunter dark fantasy series, and many other projects.
In 2016, John teamed up with a pair of other publishing industry ne’er-do-wells and founded Falstaff Books, a small press dedicated to publishing the best of genre fictions “misfit toys.” In his copious free time John enjoys long walks on the beach, rescuing kittens from trees and playing Magic: the Gathering.

A Bubba the Monster Hunter book is always good. If you like lewd humor, strippers, and monster slaying in your books you need to pick up any ONE of these and you will love it. I read one whenever I need a quick pick me up.
This time Bubba is on the trail of a Cupid who has set up shop in an old folks home. Bubba has had to endure some pretty ugly scenes before but be warned... what Bubba sees at the old folks home, well you can't unsee.
This is a great short story. John Hartness has a vivid imagination and is great at setting up a scene. You can't help but love this giant, monster slaying hillbilly.
As a sidenote, I actually spoke to myself out loud while reading this one. A nurse explains a condition that is being suffered by a male resident of the home and gives Bubba the medical term. Contextually, I didn't need to look it up but found myself saying something to the effect of "Please don't go there. PLEASE DON'T GO THERE. Oh. YEP!! You went there. ;)
Kindle Unlimited Going through the entire Bubba the Monster Hunter collections and not sure if the boy is on drugs or should be...but he makes real interesting reading...and a little wonder if his mama dropped him on his head, hard, repeatedly, on purpose, bless his heart. But John G be sure to tell Bubba if he's ever back down this way to holler;I bet that boy is more fun than wrasslin' a pig...a supernatural no bitey one of course. P.S. Come on down, and we'll shoot or set something on fire, darlin'. **all books listed this way are part of either Season 1, Season 2, or Season 3

LOVE STINKS REVIEW (3/4/2018) Love Stinks and Love Hurts were linked together in Goodreads as separate editions of the same book. I wrote Goodreads and the matter has been resolved. Thank you Carmen of Goodreads for the prompt response.
Bubba the Monster Hunter ... hunting cupids ... evil lust fairies ... in an old age home. 'Nough said.
(Except Mr. Hartness you've got a weird, weird mind.)
Note: Story is included in the "Scattered, Smothered, & Chunked" (Bubba year 1) - as as being avilable as a stand-alone. Available in eBook, Audio, Hardback, and paperback formats. I've read it in eBook and paperback formats.
Another solid Bubba entry. This one dealt with cupid (really just a horny fairy). Too bad it was in a senior citizen care facility. There are things that can't be unseen (or unread). I still want more character development from Bubba, but I look forward to his banter with Skeeter. On to story #6!
Truthfully when I started reading this series I thought I would hate it. I mean "Bubba" conjures up a certain image that is not flattering. Of course the author was counting on people thinking the same thing. Bubba however uses people's preconceived notions of a hillbilly redneck to his advantage. Add in Skeeter as his best friend and it just works. It gets corny and crass, but totally owns up to knowing they are skirting the line.
I own the collection “Scattered, Smothered and Chunked”.
Okay.. for a 10 minute read (it’s only 19 pages long) this was one of the funniest books EVER! I absolutely love Bubba and his line of work… And to hear a nun say “eat lead Bitch!” well that totally made my day! 10 Stars for this short.. a definite permanent addition to my valentine collection >^.^<
This is another short story in the kick-butt action, bad boy paranormal-detective series Bubba the Monster Hunter. In this episode Bubba takes on a cupid, and it's not all hugs and kisses. While this story will take you less then 15 mins to read, it will be a fun-filled 15 mins. I recommend this book (series) to adult readers of urban fantasy, paranormal and short story genres.
