Twenty years have passed since the zombie apocalypse devastated the world. A single man is on a quest of revenge in search of the people responsible for the outbreak of the zombie virus. His quest leads him to a discovery in the western United States that will irrevocably change his goal.
Meanwhile, a new world is revealed that is under the strict control of the same people that were responsible for the plague. Two innocent prisoners of this regime must escape and learn the truth about the world they never knew existed.
Deadlocked 5 is the start of a new, epic series that will change everything you thought you knew about the zombie apocalypse. The apocalypse was just the beginning!
I can't stop reading these series. From the first book all the way to this one I've been nonstop. Can't wait to get a break at work or to get off so that I can dive right back into my book. I've been telling coworkers, clients, friends and family about how good these books are. You have been added to my favorite authors list. Keep up the good work Mr. Wise
Still great characters and storyline, not the original
I really enjoyed this book - great new characters and loved seeing the return of originals, even years after we first met them. I was a little put off by the whole “Dawn” storyline (body factories?) but will wait to see how it all plays out.
I really liked this book. I wasn't sure as was going to since being told that it takes place 20 years after the apocalypse, but I did!! I absolutely love Harrison!!
Another excellent book which keeps the story going at the same break neck speed. Can't wait to start the next instalment of this zombitastic series 🧟♂️
The following review is my opinion and not a paid review. I was given a copy of Deadlocked from the author for a review.
One man, Ben is on a quest to find the ones that was behind the zombie apocalypse that destroyed the world and most of the people in it over 20 years ago. His father had prepared him all his life on how to survive a zombie apocalypse. He taught him how to kill zombies. Ben was 13 years old when the zombie virus broke out. He traveled a lone and lived alone needing no one until he met an old man who helped to change how he looked at life.
The people responsible for the apocalypse ran a facility under ground where they trained girls from birth to go to the surface one day and fight the zombies. The girls had never been outside the compound which was in reality an old air port. They have never seen the sky above or the ground below. They were never told the reason why they were being taught to fight. They were only told that one day they would graduate and then they would get to go to the surface.
I love this series so much. Action, heartbreak, Zombies! This entry picks up 20 years after book four, and the world's only gotten worse. Few zombie stories I've seen venture so far into the future of the apocalypse, and it's clear from the get go that it's pretty bleak for the survivors. Instead of returning right away with familiar characters, you're introduced to two new ones. Ben, a lone warrior badass that'd give Daryl Dixon a run for his money in terms of zombie slaying awesmonocity. Cobra, a beautiful young girl that's grown up in a secret facility filled with only redhead or blonde girls like herself; as a result it's a fast punch to the gut for her when she finally makes it to the surface which is both hilarious and tragic. Book 5 sets up the next four entries of the Deadlocked series and I can't wait to read book six.
I've enjoyed this series up until #5 and then downhill. This was just okay. The main bug for me is the addition of the storyline and character Echo/Celeste - girls being "farmed" for lack of a better word in some underground bunker for some reason I haven't figured out yet but has something to do with rich and of course evil old women. (snore) Add in gratuitous graphic juvenile lesbian sex scenes and I'm bored.
I would actually give this 4.5 stars. I liked it but I was a little disappointed how far into the book I had to read to find out what happened to the original characters. I really enjoyed the book overall it's just I had questions at the end of book 4 and I feel like they still weren't answered in book 5, so I am really anxious about book 6.
The new characters I love just as much as the older ones. The author takes the time to develop who they are and who they're becoming. The conversations were so realistic that I felt like I was in the room with the them. Of course, there was a cliff hanger at the end and I'm so excited to read book 6.
20 years later. It's great to be able to find out what happened to the world and also some of the characters I loved in the first Deadlocked series. Once again, I am invested in this story. Love the way the Author writes! More please...
I have read all the books up to this one..The books still capture my full attention..A lot of questions are answered and some remain unanswered..But I am looking forward to finding more information in the next one.
This one focuses on our Asian hero with hints of his origin and connection to the government. As before, related but oddly separate novels. I suppose it will all come together towards the end of the series. I don't know if I'll make it that far though. We'll see.
I continue to be impressed with the storyboarding and planning that must have gone into this series. This one fast-forwards 20 years, and blends the seams very well. I can't say much more without getting into spoiler territory, but you'll see some familiar faces here.
Great beginning to the story. Learning about what happened to Ben from the earlier was very enlightening. Cobra was a new add on that I was not completely on board with until I understood what was going on. Nice to see Hero make a comeback.
This was a great zombie story taking place 20 years after the original first four books. I liked where this story picks up and I am excited to see how the next story goes. It introduced new characters and we got to see where old characters were. This is a good series.
