Thoroughly and well researched. But it can be a bit difficult to read and plow through all the information that is a tad dry. Excellent reference source to have on the shelf and to dive deeper into the endnotes.

Full history of the island in Florida. Very academic as well. Would make a wonderful text for a jr or sr high local history class.

Well written history and told in very readable style. The story is fascinating and nothing like you'd expect. Driving around the Town today there are hints of what Venice once was but now it's just one more of the endless bedroom communities on the water.
