I absolutely adore this series. I tore through this book and I’m still pining for more. I cannot believe the emotion and love that I have for these books and the talent the girls have that write this series!! I haven't disliked as single book in this series yet!
Disclaimers and such: I received this book from Riana Lucas! (Which I just recently realized is two best friends writing together!) They sent me the first 2 books in this series for me to read and review and were AWESOME to send me the third!! So although, I received this book for free in exchange for a review, all thoughts are my own.
These characters make me lose sleep and make me bite my nails. I swear. They break my heart one moment and make me cheer them on the next. The villain makes me want to hurl spoons at the wall and a death of a friend makes me sniffle back tears. I do not want this series to end, but for the health and safety of my job, my husband, and myself….. seriously, I don’t want it to end…ever.
Poppy: Revealed picks up RIGHT where Poppy: Awake leaves us hanging. Crazy cliffhangers…these girls…the death of me. I know I mentioned it in my last review, but I LOVE it when authors pick right up where it left off. It’s not like I fell asleep for a couple of hours, it’s like I blinked and we’re still in the same room, same situation, same breath…
Poppy is trying to learn to trust and is allowing herself to slowly open up to her mother about her fears and her feelings.
At the same time, Reed and Poppy are finding themselves meeting and talking to each other in their dreams. It soon escalates and it leaves Poppy and Reed trying to figure out what it all means and what is happening between them.
Reed soon admits that he misses his mom and would like to be able to take a trip back to the human world to see her. When she takes Reed back to visit, Poppy finds that things are not as they should seem and that what may be best for Reed is to stay with his mom. It starts the biggest “DTR” that I’ve ever read. Mom, I know you’re probably reading this going, “DTR??”, means “define the relationship”.
So girls….ummm…..
We are going to get a smooch in the next book right? Because you know I’ve been DYING for one and I was SO sure we’d get some lip locking in this one. I feel like I’m Sebastian from the Little Mermaid yelling at Eric “Go on! Kiss her, you IDIOT!” The slow kindling romance in these books are so good though, so I can’t complain too much. But too much more build up and I’m going to explode. Haha!
If you’re not reading this series, you are missing out on a great story, an adventure, and some amazing friendships. Get addicted to the series!

If you have not read this series let me tell you what you are missing: charars you love, chucharacters you hate, battles that have you sitting on the edge of your seat, hinted love that makes you anxious, relationships renewed and scenic descriptions that are so real you can reach out and touch. What are you waiting for?

So maybe here's my excuse: this is me reading all of the girly-fantasy books that didn't exist when I was a kid. I mean there were some; I devoured anything written by Mercedes Lackey as soon as it came out, and I loved Anne McCaffrey (though oddly not the Dragons series). But ummm. These series...es...are not on par with those. They're more like something I would have read and enjoyed when I was younger than I was when I discovered Lackey (so...pre age 11). Maybe I'm just junk-food stuffing my brain in some sort of Willy Wonka-esque return to my childhood.

That made very little sense, but I haven't finished my coffee.

In any case. Still not great, after 3 books. Just...not...great.

The last(?) book of the series was not what I expected at all. I give it 2.5 Stars. I thought there was going to be more, but there wasn't. I put the question mark because it ended without the purpose of the book being fulfilled - killing Damien. So I am guessing there is another one?

It begins with Poppy in a battle in the Seelie Court against Damien and he escapes with his life. Poppy takes Reed to go see his mother who apparently knows everything there is to know about the Faerie world. Poppy is really annoying in this book and we meet a new character as well. It was a very random encounter and then we find out Reed’s father was a Faerie. It was just too predictable! The whole thing with the disease of the unclaimed faeries was confusing. They kept talking about t but it was never explained until the end of the book. I think the explanation should have been in the beginning.

The book started off very boring, and then got better when they went to the human world but then just lacked the rest of the way. I hated how every time someone asks a question a whole explanation has to be made even though the reader has read it over and over again. The book can do without all the explanations. I don’t even know what else to say about this book. I skipped many pages. I don’t recommend.

I really enjoy reading about the Fae and this series is a great one to invest in and the third instalment does not disappoint. Poppy is in the thick of it most of the time either defending those she loves or trying to work out how to navigate this thing called love that she has with Reed. Plenty of angst and misunderstandings cause turmoil in her life and she is happier when there is an actual enemy to fight rather than sorting through her feelings for Reed. This book adds more depth to the lead characters exploring their past and their present, tying up a few loose threads and revealing a secret that was hidden from Reed culminating in a few surprises to say the least. I apologise for being cryptic but I do not want to give too much away. Poppy is a take charge kind of gal and I find that appealing in a heroine and her relationship with Reed was sweet and slow at times but not that "instant love" a lot of authors are fond of writing about. It kept me turning the pages and I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
